MATTEL’S WWE ULTIMATE THE FIEND!
It's Wednesday. You know what that means… ToyFarce reviews!
Yowie wowie! It’s Wrestlemania week so we’re gonna review a WWE figure, with none other than Bray Wyatt’s evil doppelganger, The Fiend!
Since I received this figure, some strange things happened in my house, but we’ll see how this goes…
Here’s the packaging!
The usual white and red packaging for WWE Ultimates figures, with a great design. Those boxes are great.
“BLEP!”
What the…
The figure just… vanished… There’s some strange screeching sound coming from the cupboard… I’m scared.
There he is!
“LET ME IN”
The figure comes with his jacket and extra arms to go with it, a second head with the tongue out, and his Fiend-designed belt from when he was the WWE Champion.
As I was taking pictures of the accessories, the lights turned off and the figure disappeared again. Please send help. I heard some noise coming from a miscellaneous shelf…
Oh, hi Plunderlings and MK Trumpet Spawn!
'“BLEP!”
*Annoying screeching sound and laughs*
“LET. ME. IN.”
I have to make some space on the small WWE shelf for him…
“BLEP!” …or I can let him do that…
OK! FINE, YOU CAN COME IN!
Like all Ultimates before him, the Fiend has some decent articulation. The detail on all the tattoos is really good, it was nice to be able to look at exactly what he has on his arms. The 2 heads are perfectly creepy. I do prefer the look with the jacket, but he also looks great without.
Creepy!
Time for an unsuspecting figure to be the Fiend’s prey…
The Mandible Claw!
Sister Abigail!!
ToyFarce pulled some strings and managed to get an exclusive sneak peek on the new design of the figure, after the Fiend was burned alive by Randy Orton a couple of months ago. He came back with a new design, which looks exactly like that!
*Annoying screeching sounds*
Not the YETAY!
We’re in for some wacky cinematic match this weekend, when the Fiend will face Randy Orton on one of the 2 nights of Wrestlemania. Be sure to check it out!

EASTER: IS IT OK TO ASK FOR ACTION FIGURES INSTEAD OF CHOCOLATE EGGS?
We put our investigative hats over the weekend and asked several Easter representative, to be sure to get the right answer.
EASTER NEWS:
IS IT OK TO ASK FOR ACTION FIGURES INSTEAD OF CHOCOLATE EGGS?
First of all, ToyFarce wishes everyone a happy long Easter weekend!
We received a lot of questions during the weeks prior to Easter asking us that simple, yet important question: Is it ok to ask for action figures instead of chocolate eggs for Easter? We put our investigative hats over the weekend and asked several Easter representative, to be sure to get the right answer.
The E.B.A. (Easter Bunny Association) has answered to us that, legally speaking, it is not against the law to ask for something else than chocolate eggs for Easter. Ethically, it’s a different thing, though… But if you’re diabetic, allergic to chocolate, or on a diet for example, it is sometimes allowed to get a replacement for the traditional chocolate eggs. So, if some adult toy collectors decided that they would prefer to go hunt for figures in their yard, rather than chocolate eggs, it is not forbidden! Go for it, guys!
You heard it here first! Now go get those Easter figs! There could be one behind that tree!! Quick!!

FIRST STILT MAN ON THE MOON?!
A contact at NASA informed ToyFarce today that a collector from California has now collected enough Hand Ninjas to make his Stilt Man reach… the MOON!
BREAKING NEWS:
FIRST STILT MAN ON THE MOON?!
The Marvel Legends ‘Stilt Man’ wave gave us some great figures. The 4 ‘Spider-man: Into the Spiderverse’ figures were awesome, Frogman was a pleasant surprise (still convinced it’s a Batman figure dressed as Frogman, look at his eyes!), and the Hand ninja was a nice addition to complete the wave.
The Stilt Man build-a-figure is where it’s at, though! By cleverly adding the legs part of Stilt Man with the Hand Ninja, Hasbro made sure that people who would army-build ninjas wouldn’t end up with a tub full of useless torsos, or heads, but would actually end up with useful parts, enabling collectors to make Stilt Man taller!
And it’s been going on ever since! Here are pictures taken from various locations (facebook groups, reddit…):
Is this enough?
And now?
How about now?
Ok, this has to be some sort of world record…
A contact at NASA informed ToyFarce today that a collector from California has now collected enough Hand Ninjas to make his Stilt Man reach… the MOON! Here is a first picture taken from NASA’s satellites, exclusively for you!
Isn’t that beautiful?
How do you feel about this accomplishement? And how tall is YOUR Stilt Man? Let us know in the comments!

REVIEW: LONE COCONUT’S PLUNDERLINGS!
This week, we’re reviewing the awesome Plunderlings from Lone Coconut!
TOYFARCE REVIEWS:
LONE COCONUT'S PLUNDERLINGS!
It's Wednesday. You know what that means… ToyFarce reviews!
This week, we’re reviewing the awesome Plunderlings from Lone Coconut. Lone Coconut is a Dominican Republic-based award winning visual effects and animation studio (thank you, Google!) and last year, they launched a Kickstarter for the Plunderlings, their own IP, that took the toy collecting world by storm. “A little bit goblin, a little bit pirate, united with infectious charm. These greedy adorable pirates travel from island to island looking for treasure and mischief”, they’ve been the latest craze in the toy community and are more than worth the hype! There were 14 of them during the Kickstarter campaign + 2 “Fawns” that were released afterward.
First off, the packaging: A beautiful crate-like box, with a window in the front and at the top. The front part looks like their faces, with the window in the mouth. You can see the figure from the front , and the extra heads and accessories on the top. The boxes come with extra ears that you can attach (the ears are inside the box, so they won’t be damaged during transport, you can just add them yourself. Or not, if you don’t like fun!). Footprints are printed at the bottom, and you get a picture of your figure in the back (If i remember correctly, there’s some QR-code animation or something like that in the back too, but I haven’t tried that yet!)
The ingenious thing about them is that they are basically the same figure/mold for all of the 14 figures, but it’s the accessories and colors that give them their own personalities!
First, let’s check Raider Gank!
When I hear “Goblin”, I always see in my mind something green. Since the Plunderlings look like little goblins, I picked Gank, the green one with the accessories making him more “piratey”. And what can I say… This figure is a lot of fun! Gank comes with a bandana (all the head accessories have magnets in them, which is genius. F’ing magnets, how do they work?), a sword and a tiny crossbow/slingshot weapon. All Plunderlings come with 2 extra heads (smiling and mouth open), and extra hands to hold the accessories.
I had decided that I would pick 2, and the second one that caught my eye was Nomad Goyle, a blue/grey-ish Plunderling with a purple hood. There’s always something about characters with hoods, that makes them look cooler. And this one is purple! He comes with 2 daggers, and what looks like a dead-frog. So mischievous!
The articulations on those figures are incredible. I have played with them (a lot) when taking the pictures, and they really can be put in a lot of weird positions, which is amazing.
I will most likely be switching them around and putting them in various places in my displays, annoying other figures from other franchises. It’s great fun!
“GIMME!”
“SHINY!”
“Are they with you? - I thought they were with you…”
“Leave my cape alone.”
“MINE!”
“Hello, little guy! Were you created with mutagen too?”
“I somehow doubt it…”
“What would be a cameo-ridden review without the king of cameos! EXCELSIOR!”
We miss you, Stan Lee…
“Sam, they’re saying there’s some sort of mischievious half-pirate, half-goblin wreaking havoc in town…”
“Great smile!”
“Selfie time!”
“GIVE IT TO ME!”
I have nothing but good things to say about those figures. They’re just awesome. I can’t wait to get a few more (I have a fawn on the way + a couple more coming later this year). Lone Coconut has also teased a few more figures (Plunderlongs, Plunderstrongs,…) which look fantastic. I also hope we’ll get some of the Kickstarter accessory packs and especially the hatchlings body down the line, so that we can display those extra heads too.
Due to the success and popularity of the Plunderlings, Lone Coconut is re-issuing 6 of them, which are available for pre-order RIGHT NOW on BigBadToyStore and EntertainmentEarth, so don’t miss out!

THE “CHADS” (aka Punched Tabs): THE COLLECTOR’S FRIEND OR ENEMY?
You might have seen those lying on the floor under the action figures at your local toy hunting spot, and did not think much of it. But the “Chads” are more important to some of you would think!
BREAKING NEWS:
THE “CHADS” (aka Punched Tabs): THE COLLECTOR’S FRIEND OR ENEMY?
You might have seen those lying on the floor under the action figures at your local toy hunting spot, and did not think much of it. But the Chads (punched tabs or punch tabs) are more important to some of you would think!
In the Toy collector lingo, if you get an action figure with its blister card “unpunched”, it means the figure still has that tiny cardboard piece where there should be a hole at the top (some call it the blister card “hymen”). A figure that is “unpunched” means that the “Chad” (or tab) is still present on the blister card, meaning it hasn’t even been displayed in a store and is therefore, in pristine condition. Unpunched cards usually have a higher value, and some MOC collectors prefer to have all their cards “unpunched”.
ToyFarce investigated a bit, and found out that there is an even deeper aspect to the “chads”, with some collectors, who call themselves “Chad-chasers”, actually collect ONLY the tabs!
“No need for the action figures, if you can get the chads!”
See this listing on ebay:
Collector Corey Y. had shown us how he displays his chad collection, and was asking other Chad-afficionados if he should use plexiglass or acrylic to frame his coveted collection:
Here is a collector, checking his latest finds on the ICDb, the Internet Chad Data Base, to see if any of the Chads he found have a high value:
We have even found this brilliant idea for a new product: the Ultimate Meta-Chad ! (Of course, real Chad-fanatics would prefer a version that is unpunched…)
For more Chad content, make sure to join the Facebook group: “Marvel Legends Retro 3.75 Collectors”, where the Chad-movement is going very strong!
How about you? Are you a Chad-chaser? Let us know in the comments!

FRIENDS WITH KIDS CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHY THEIR CHILDREN CAN’T PLAY WITH YOUR TOYS WHEN THEY VISIT!
This scenario has happened to all of us collectors at least once: Friends or family come to visit, they bring along small children, “Can my child play with some of your toys?”, chaos ensues.
BREAKING NEWS:
FRIENDS WITH KIDS CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHY THEIR CHILDREN CAN’T PLAY WITH YOUR TOYS WHEN THEY VISIT!
This scenario has happened to all of us collectors at least once: Friends or family come to visit, they bring along small children, “Can my child play with some of your toys?”, chaos ensues.
We all have some nightmare stories like that, so please do share yours in the comments! We’ll start:
A few years ago, a couple of friends we hadn’t seen for a long time came to visit, and they brought along their child (aged 3). Upon arrival, the husband saw the toy collection and asked “Oh, nice! Can my kid borrow a few toys to play with?” to which I quickly reply “No, those are not for playing” and explained politely that they were collectibles, some of them were actually quite pricey, and that is why they are in glass cabinets, and not just lying on the floor. (Also, I didn’t realize I was the one supposed to provide entertainment for his kids when they visit…). I asked if they wanted that we put some cartoon on Netflix for the kid, and he replied “No, he does not watch TV”. Great.
As the conversation went on, I kept an eye on the 3 year old, which was looking at the toys in the Detolfs, and even went to discuss with him about what he liked, and if he knew some of the characters (Apparently, 3 year old kids are not into the Walking Dead, Metal Gear Solid or Stranger Things. Weird, right? He did like Batman and Star Wars, though). The kid was absolutely fine with just looking and seemed to enjoy it. His father, though, kept asking “How about this toy? Is it expensive? Can he have it?” pointing at the Hot Toys 1989 Batmobile. “It’s big, he’s not gonna break it”. Yeaaah, nah. He kept asking every few minutes about other toys, and didn’t seem to grasp the general atmosphere (even his wife was a bit annoyed by then).
“Can I take a photo of the kid with this on?” pointing at the Marvel Legends Iron Man helmet. At this point, we all looked at each other, realizing that he would not stop until we gave him at least something, and agreed to take the pic if he would stop to ask after that. Here it is:
The child didn’t even want it, and barely moved as his dad was placing the helmet on his head. Needless to say, they haven’t visited a lot since, and we would always meet at THEIR place after that. It was weird because it wasn’t the child himself that made the situation uncomfortable, but the parent.
(And before anyone thinks that ToyFarce is anti-children, this is not the case at all. There are plenty of well behaved children (and parents!) that have visited over the years without a single issue. Children of collectors also usually understand very well that there is a difference between kids toys, and “mummy or daddy’s toys”. We’re only talking about the situations where things went south!)
Let us know your stories in the comments! This should be good, I’ll bring the popcorn!

BANDAI’S EVANGELION UNIT-01 DX TRANSPORT PLATFORM SET!
It's Wednesday. You know what that means… ToyFarce reviews!
Hey, you! Do you want to “Zankoku na tenshi no teeze” with us? Come check our review of the Eva-01 Bandai model kit! This week, we’re building a Bandai model kit that is slightly more complicated than the Cup Noodle kit, with the Evangelion Unit-01 DX transport platform set!
Before anything, I’d like to mention that the man in the following video is my spirit animal:
Trying something new this time, uploading a “gallery” of pics rather than the usual picture-by-picture, let’s see how it goes!
This was a fun kit. No headaches, pretty straightforward, and the result is definitely mind-blowing. It took about 6-8h in total, over 2 days. I did not put the stickers right away because I suck at it and will need to focus a bit more for that. I can post extra pics when they are added!
If you want to see some really awesome pictures from that kit, with a background that is NOT my living room table, go check my friend Francis’ page here: https://www.franksfigurepage.com/model-kits/rg-eva01
Bandai also announced an Eva-02 version of that kit. Hopefully, they do more, because we’re gonna need them all!

HASBRO TO REMOVE ALL PLASTIC FROM THEIR PACKAGING, NOW PLANNING TO SELL EMPTY BOXES!
In-box collectors, rejoice! Hasbro is planning to remove all the plastic from their packaging, including the pesky figures that usually ruins our boxes!
BREAKING NEWS:
HASBRO TO REMOVE ALL PLASTIC FROM THEIR PACKAGING, NOW PLANNING TO SELL EMPTY BOXES!
In-box collectors, rejoice! Hasbro is planning to remove all the plastic from their packaging, including the pesky figures that usually ruins our boxes!
Brian Goldner, CEO of Hasbro, announced a while ago that they were looking into removing the plastic from their packaging, in order to create a more sustainable future (which is a really great idea! It was always a pain for those who recycle their packagings to have to separate the plastic shell, the plastic bubble,… from the cardboard!)
Last week, Yakface, one of the most trusted source about anything related to Star Wars toys, shared some pictures about a survey showing different versions of what a “plastic-less packaging” would look like (pictures below).
Now, ToyFarce did some deep undercover investigative work, and found out an amazing scoop for you: There are plans to go even further, by releasing 100% plastic-free packaging, that won’t even include the figures that are made of plastic! They will probably end up just adding a cardboard cut-out of the figure in the box, so that you still have the impression that the figure is inside (like when they announce new figures at a Toy Fair or Comic Con, and they display a cardboard cut-out picture of the figure. We’ve always wanted to have one of those!).
Finally, the in-box collectors will be able to have a collection of ONLY boxes, without anything inside to lower the value of it!

“A COMPLETE COINCIDENCE!” - SEVERAL BRANDS ANNOUNCE AWESOME TOYS JUST DAYS AFTER THE STIMULUS CHECKS HIT!
Multiple toy brands announced awesome toys, surprise waves, or long-awaited figures finally released merely days after the deposits arrived!
SUSPICIOUS NEWS:
“A COMPLETE COINCIDENCE!” - SEVERAL BRANDS ANNOUNCE AWESOME TOYS JUST DAYS AFTER THE STIMULUS CHECKS HIT!
In the last 7 days, millions of Americans received their $1400 stimulus check, money sent by the U.S. government to stimulate the economy and provide consumers with some spending money. It is a great gesture and must be a relief for a lot of people, but it seems that the arrival of the deposits hasn’t fallen on deaf ears, as multiple toy brands announced awesome toys, surprise waves, or long-awaited figures finally released merely days after the deposits arrived!
Hot Toys announced a 2-pack that includes the reissue of a “grail”, the very sought-after Knightmare Batman along with a brand new black suit Superman.
NECA announced that they FINALLY got the license for John Carpenter’s “The Thing”, and will release a ULTIMATE (say it with a deep voice and your arms open, like Robo) of Kurt Russell’s character. Can’t wait for the actual ‘Thing’!
Mezco opened the pre-orders for their recently announced Destro from G.I.Joe on wednesday, and doubled up on thursday, with the release of their long awaited Black Skulls Death Brigade figure (which was yet again, a clusterf*ck to order).
And finally, Hasbro announced a new surprise wave of their Star Wars Black Series figures, which includes figures from the extended universe, such as Jaxxon from the comic book, which fans had been asking for a loooong time!
ToyFarce asked representative of those brands about the suspicious timing of all those announcements/pre-orders/releases, which all came out only days after everyone got their deposit, and here is what their answers boiled down to:
“Stimulus check? What stimulus check?… Oh, THAT Stimulus check? The $1400 that everybody got, and can now buy toys with? Was it this week? We had no idea, we promise! That’s a complete coincidence: But just wait until you see what we have in store for when the next one hits! Oh wait…”

REVIEW: SUPER7 NJPW KAZUCHIKA OKADA
Fresh from Ringside Collectibles, the long awaited Super7 NJPW figures were finally released…and the crowd went MILD!!
TOYFARCE REVIEWS:
SUPER7 NJPW KAZUCHIKA OKADA
It's Wednesday. You know what that means… ToyFarce reviews!
Fresh from Ringside Collectibles, the long awaited Super7 NJPW figures were finally released…and the crowd went MILD!!
First off, for those unfamiliar with NJPW (New Japan Pro Wrestling), Kazuchika Okada is one of the best wrestlers on the planet these days, only eclipsed by a few. His matches with Kenny Omega are legendary (their matches regularly scored over 5 stars…on a 5 star rating, and they share the only 7 star out of 5 match in the history of wrestling). Here’s his entrance theme:
The figures come with their own mini-shipper boxes, which is nice. Shipper box collectors will go crazy about those. The boxes also have a ‘sleeve’, with the NJPW logo, which looks very classy.
The figure itself? Well… The likeness is unfortunately quite off. He comes with 2 different headsculpts, which are not that different from one another, one of his signature entrance robes, the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship belt, 5 different sets of hands, and some Rainmaker money.
Now, let’s talk about the elephant in the room: The ugly-ass ab crunch. When I saw the first few pics from people starting to get their figures, and saw that hard-to-miss ab crunch, I believe I said out loud “OH NO”. Fortunately, as ugly as it is, it’s not that bad in person. It looks bad if you over-bend the figure, like this…
…but if you keep the figure in ‘normal’ standing positions, it’s not as bad as it looked on those first pics, thank goodness.
The scale is unfortunately quite off too, as Okada is supposed to be a very tall man, while this figure is the same size as your standard wrestling figure (and it’s even worse when compared to the other Super7 NJPW figures, which has Tomohiro Ishii at about the same size, while he is a lot shorter in real life).
Talking about other wrestling figures, let’s revisit some of the Rainmaker’s rivalry, with 2 former Bullet Club members (even though Bullet Club is supposed to be 4…4…4…4 LIFE).
Okada is said to have one of the best dropkicks in the business
Tombstone piledriver!
The chemistry between Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada is unrivaled (ooooh!)
Setting him up for his finisher…
The wrist has been locked!!!
And…
RAINMAKEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!!!
RAINMAKEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!!!
RAINMAKEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!!!
Okada about to do his signature pose… NO, WAIT!!!
DAMMIT, you have to warn people when you zoom out like that… Well, folks, here is my kitchen.
The bottom line is this: Could it have been better? Yes. Does it look like the prototype we were shown? Not really. But, am I happy that I get to have an action figure of “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada to display next to my other wrestling figures? Absolutely. This is probably the only Okada figure we will get in a long time, so we’ll make do with what we have.
Series 1 had Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Tomohiro Ishii and Will Ospreay, and series 2 had already been announced and will include most of the members of the Ingobernables de Japon faction: Tetsuya Naito, Hiromu Takahashi, Bushi and EVIL (who has now joined the Bullet Club, betraying his friends).
*COIN TOSS SOUND*
