After seeing a very high number of collectors asking the same questions over and over again, ToyFarce has decided to make a summary of answers that can now be shared anytime someone is asking the same things. We understand some collectors are getting a bit irritated/annoyed by the high number of similar questions, so this should help in the future…
YOU MISSED OUT ON A PRE-ORDER
“Does anyone have *insert item* for a reasonable price? I was busy commenting that it sucks and I don’t like it on multiple groups and now, I missed out on it…”
“This is clearly *insert brand* giving us the middle finger!! Now, I won’t be able to have a full collection because I didn’t order this!”
No, the brands are not giving you the middle finger. They had an item up for pre-order on their website/kickstarter for a reasonable period of time, and thousands of collectors managed to get the items without struggle. Unfortunately, you missed out. It happens. Now, a few options are available for you:
1- You might have to buy it at a higher price from your friendly neighborhood scalper, if you want it right now. That is the worst option. You will have to hunt down the item and get it for a higher price because you want it now, and cannot wait.
2- The other, and best option, is patience. Just wait until you find a great deal. Let’s be honest, you messed up. It’s on you, pal. But fortunately, whether we’re talking NECA’s Tokka and Rahzar or McFarlane Toys’ Kickstarter Spawn, it seems that thousands of collectors have ordered more than one of them in order to resell them, which means that in a couple of months, when everybody will have received their multiple items, the market will be flooded, which means that the prices will inevitably go down eventually. Have patience, and wait for the right moment. The items are at scalper prices *right now* because only a handful of them have received them. When all is said and done, their will be hundreds of those items on eBay, Mercari, Facebook groups, etc… and people who only want to resell those items won’t have a choice but to put the prices down. Have you ever heard a story of a collector that waited years to find a good deal, and didn’t?
2. YOUR PRE-ORDER HASN’T SHIPPED YET
“This was supposed to come out last month, and I still didn’t get it!”
“Has anyone received their *insert item* yet? I didn’t get my notification…”
Did you see 7433 posts from people that have received it on social media yet? If not, that just means nobody has gotten theirs. Once again, have patience. There are a number of possible reasons for you not getting your pre-ordered item:
-We are in the middle of a global pandemic with 1,58 million dead.: That might affect a lot of things…
-Delays in the manufacturing process: Those happen even when there is no pandemic. Brands like MAFEX have made it a tradition to have delays on most of their products. There are less people working in the factories because of the pandemic, so things will be delayed further.
-The post service is in total chaos all around the globe: Right now, there is the holiday period, which is usually the busiest time, on top of a global pandemic. Your package tracking information have not been updated in weeks? That is normal. They have entire warehouses full of packages that need to be sent right now, and only a few planes, trucks and people to deliver them. It will take time.
(For NECA’s Tokka and Rahzar set, there are even people that are receiving it without getting a notification, or see their order updated as ‘shipped’ on their website! It’s like NECA is surprising you, giving you a gentle kiss on the forehead and saying ‘here is your two-pack, love’.)
3. OTHER COLLECTORS ARE GETTING THEIRS BEFORE YOU
“I pre-ordered this on day-1 and other people are getting it before me, this is bullshit!”
“I stayed up until midnight to order it, and now, people are buying it from Walmart while mine still hasn’t shipped! Worst service ever!”
When you ordered an item, before the last click to confirm the order, most of the time, you need to click on “I agree with the terms and conditions”. After further investigation, it turns out that nowhere in there does it say “You will mandatorily receive it first, because you pre-ordered it on the first day”. It’s crazy, right?
In terms of logistics, it does make sense that people living closer to the shipping center, or in the same country as the factory even, get it first. There is always one that gets it first. Yes, he will get more “likes” on his post on Facebook, but we will all get “likes” too!
Also, there is the possibility that when you order first, your order is the first one to be packed, and then it’s at the bottom of the pile of the thousands other orders (that was a comment on Facebook which we thought was pretty clever).
The bottom line (cause Stone Cold said so) is to just be patient. Those are unprecedented times, things will be delayed and it’s out of our control. We collectively have to wait, and we’re all in this together. If you see someone get their item first, just be happy for them, while being excited that yours might show up soon!
ToyFarce hopes this will help at least a few members of the toy community, and who knows, we might do more of those “What to do when…” in the future.

REVIEW: GAMESTOP EXCLUSIVE DC COLLECTIBLES BATMAN VS TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES
Growing up watching the TMNT cartoon and Batman the Animated Series, this was a no-brainer.

GAMESTOP EXCLUSIVE DC COLLECTIBLES BATMAN VS TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES
With the post system being what it is these days during the holiday season, during a global pandemic, I have not received any of the new toys that are in transit, so today, we’ll have a look at older stuff, like the Gamestop Exclusive DC Collectibles (it was still ‘Collectibles’ at the time!) Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures (those pictures were taken in early 2020).
It was first a comic book crossover event, that was actually pretty good (2 sequels have come out since), and DC made an animated movie out of the first story. Those figures have the design of the animated movie.
Here are some packaging shots:
(The 'Robin & Raphaël' box was smashed during transport, so I just opened that one right away to make sure the figures were fine, so no photos of that box. The figures were fine!)
First, let’s check the leaders of their respective families: The Batman and Leonardo.
“Dude, you’re dressed like a bat!”
“You are literally a turtle.”
“Fair enough. Let’s fight crime!”
Now for the rebel of their families: Robin (Damian Wayne) and Raphaël.
“Oh, you put the hood on? Things are getting serious!”
“COME AT US, BRO!”
Then, they paired the tech savvy ones together, with Batgirl coming along with Donatello.
“You got any games on that?”
“Nevermind. Time to fight!”
Michaelangelo, or Mikey, the goofiest of the Ninja Turtles, was somehow paired with Alfred, the serious yet snarky butler. Odd pairing, but it works for me!
“Master Michaelangelo, may I ask you not to use your skateboard inside the manor, please…”
“Come on, I just waxed the floors…”
PS: Alfred has NO CHILL.
Finally, the baddies, Shredder and Ras’al’Ghul came in the same set, which makes a lot of sense.
“Soon, the turtles will be defeated!”
“And the detective will see how much smarter than him I am!”
“What is this thing anyway? Mu-ta-gen?”
Those figures are pretty awesome. I like the fabric they used for the cape, it allows for nice movement and display. The “cell shading” effect on the figures is a nice touch, and makes them look better than other versions of the characters. Some people didn’t like the design of the animated movie and would have prefered it to be closer to the comic book, but they still look awesome on a shelf. Growing up watching the TMNT cartoon and Batman the Animated Series, this was a no-brainer for me anyway.

During the weekend, Prime1 Studio offered a show case of all the upcoming products, and there were some huge surprises!

Prime1 Studio is notorious for their amazing 1:3 scale statues. Their big, very detailed amazing statues with nicely designed bases don’t have much competition. They’re just stunning. Collectors passionately get them and make them the centerpieces of their collection. During the weekend, Prime1 Studio offered a show case of all the upcoming products, and there were some huge surprises!

ToyFarce also heard that Prime1 Studio is working out a deal with landlords so that their statues will include the price of the rent of an appartment, so that you can have a place to display those gigantic statues, so that you don’t worry about missing out. Some of their pieces already cost way more than 2 months of rent, so it does make sense for them to venture that way.
Finally, Prime1 Studio announced their long awaited Joker from the Dark Knight movie, and the crowd went mild for that one!
It’s not ToyFarce’s style to make fun of things (never!) but… remember when the Joker was sniffing glue in the movie?
Too bad the host was not available for that shot, now we have no idea of what size it will be…

This week, Hot Toys has announced their (re-)releases of the Dark Knight Rises Batman figure, along with the Bat-Pod.
Earlier last week, S.H. Figuarts announced a series of action figures from the Avengers movie. No, not Endgame, not Infinity War, not even Age of Ultron: the first Avengers movie.
At the same time, we’re getting ‘retro’ figures with packaging from the 90’s from the Marvel Legends line, Vintage Collection Star Wars action figures in the same packaging as the ones in the 80’s, Power Rangers figures from the Mighty Morphin’ show from the 90’s…
WHAT YEAR IS THIS??
Does it sound suspicious to anyone else that we are also getting ‘Back to the Future’ figures from NECA, also this year? The same year that we’re getting all those products from the past again? Doc Brown has got some explaining to do!

Mattel has been doing a decent job with the WWE Elite figures for years, but I had yet to get any of the ‘Ultimate Edition’ ones.

Mattel has been doing a decent job with the WWE Elite figures for years, but I had yet to get any of the ‘Ultimate Edition’ ones. After trying to convince myself that I didn’t need it for months, I saw a review online that convinced me otherwise (Thanks, Adventures in Collecting Podcast youtube channel!).
I picked up Triple H and Rock “The Dwayne” Johnson because I started watching wrestling in the late 90’s, and saw those 2 guys become huge main eventers and their feuds were memorable. I always wanted a ‘Ultimate’ The Rock figure (no pun intended…ok, maybe) and this looked like this could be it.

Nice little “easter egg”, when you open the flaps at the top and bottom of the packaging, some catchphrases are hidden there!
I only have an AEW ring, and I can already see the ton of hate mail I would get for that, so I won’t use a ring. It’s too bad. If only I had something cool to display behind… Oh, wait… I know!
The Ultimate edition figures have “Ultimate articulation for authentic poseability”, so we’re gonna put that to the test… Entering first, the most elecrifying man in AAAALL of entertainment:

During the weekend, we were all saddened to hear about the passing of David Prowse, the man under the costume of Darth Vader, an iconic role that is still, to this day, giving chills to people watching Star Wars for the first time (and will probably do so forever). ToyFarce would like to extend their condolences to the actor’s friends and family.
Unfortunately, as is tradition in our community, greed seems to live next door to death, as there was an influx of people trying to take advantage of the death of the actor, and tried to sell Darth Vader figures at a higher price. A few were caught red-handed and told off in the comments of their sale posts, before pretending not to know about the death of the actor before posting the ad for the latest Hot Toys Darth Vader figure, or an Hasbro ‘The Black Series’ figure.
On behalf of the entire toy community, ToyFarce would like to reiterate:
DON’T BE THAT GUY.
Darth Vader didn’t sacrifice himself for that. Let the man rest in peace. Don’t take advantage of another person’s death. It’s just sad.

Storm Collectibles has been killing it in the last few years. Remember how bad they looked, once they' had been beaten up? Many of us played this game when we were kids and probably got our asses handed to us multiple times in the beginning (I know I did), so those faces have been displayed on our screens a lot. Now, you’ll be able to display your beaten up characters on your shelf too! Sure, those are glorified repaints, but at least, it’s better than giving us the player 2 versions of the costumes countless times, right?

Another wednesday, another review, this time with the long overdue Ultime Flasher Gremlin from NECA.

Another wednesday, another review, this time with the long overdue Ultime Flasher Gremlin from NECA. I had already teased that the Ultimate Flasher Raphael from the NECA two-pack with Casey Jones had some competition, so I got my hands on that competition, and there will be a flasher competition (a flash-off?) to determine who is the Ultimate Flasher!
Finally, a worthy opponent…
The Gremlins line from NECA has always been great, and the gremlins are very detailed. They look like they were taken right out of the movie. They do suffer from a bit of quality control issue (the head kept popping off when I was taking pictures), but nothing unfixable. The art box (I guess we can call them art boxes) has great pictures, which is expected from NECA. Here are some packaging shots:

The Ultimate Flasher Gremlin comes with a ton of accessories, all related to the bar scene from the movie: Poker visor, poker cards and poker chips, a pint of beer, a puppet, a mallet, some lit cigarettes, sunglasses a fedora, a bowtie, a removable trenchcoat and interchangeable hands.
If you remove the trenchcoat and accessories, you get a very decent Gremlin, with a lot of articulations. Even his jaw is articulated!

Well, as implied by the title, ToyFarce is now 1 year old. On November 22nd, 2019, the first crappy photo-edit was made and published in a few facebook groups, along with a short “news article” text, and the rest is history. Thanks a million for the support over this year.
We tried to make a Top 10 list of the ‘best’ articles of this year, but it turned out to be more difficult than it sounded, as we love all of the posts equally! Ok, some definitely got better reactions than others, and we noticed that it’s always the ones that we expect the less to have a big reaction that gets them, so we’re still learning! Now, let’s make year 2 funnier than year 1!
10. HOT TOYS USING UNSOLD BOBA FETT TO MAKE THE MANDALORIAN FIGURES?!

4. NECA’S NEXT GREMLINS SET REVEALED: GRETA’S WEDDING!
This one is special because we ordered a Cameo from Robert Picardo, not expecting any answer, and not only did Robert Picardo answer, but he delivered a brilliant, funny, amazing video that I hope more people will see. If this Cameo thing delivers like that, expect more in the future!

3. A FOURTH MORTAL KOMBAT SPAWN FIGURE VARIANT, WITH TRUMPET?!
After several different Spawn figures announced with a different weapon, we thought about what would be the ultimate accessory: a trumpet. This led to a string of several running gags, and trumpets were added in several other posts (Hasbrolab’s Sentinel and Mandalorian’s Razor Crest, …). We even released a follow-up review of the figure later on.

Our personal favorite. It also got a lot of reactions, and a ton of people said they would actually buy this if it ever came out (we totally would too).

AFTER UNDENIABLE SUCCESS OF CUP NOODLES MODEL KIT, OTHER BRANDS WANT IN TOO!!
Bandai, the japanese giant toy brand behind the Gundam model kits line, recently released a model kit so silly that we had to have it: A 1:1 scale CUP NOODLE model kit!

AFTER UNDENIABLE SUCCESS OF CUP NOODLES MODEL KIT, OTHER BRANDS WANT IN TOO!!
Bandai, the giant japanese toy brand behind the Gundam model kits line (and a ton of other things), recently released a model kit so silly that we had to have it: A 1:1 scale CUP NOODLE model kit! We have posted about it on our social media, but for those who missed it, here are a few pictures from the assembly:

The cup is actually made of over 20 parts!

Noodles done, adding the egg bits, the shrimps, and the “mystery meat” (the brown pieces are legit called “mystery meat”

After this model kit turned out to be a success, several other brands are now in talks with toy brands, in order to make model kits of their famous items:
-Mama Noodles, another giant in the international instant noodles industry, has contacted several model kit brands, such as Tamiya, to see if there would be an opportunity there.
-Kraft, had contacted Lego in order to see if there was any interest in bringing their Kraft Mac & Cheese box into toy form.
-Dr Oetker has been in talks with McFarlane Toys, who has released a lot of construction sets in recent years, in order to bring their frozen pizza line on toy collector’s shelves!
We will keep you informed if any deal is made!
