With the second wave starting to get shipped out (thanks, Ringside Collectibles!), ToyFarce figured it was time to post about the AEW Unrivaled Series 1!
AEW, the wrestling company founded by Tony Khan, Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks, Nick and Matt Jackson, is barely over a year old, and their action figures have started to roll out in the summer (not without any obstacles…) and the company Jazwares (and Wicked Cool Toys) have done an excellent job on those figures. AEW needed to get someone that knew how to make wrestling toys, to have a great product right off the bat. They needed someone that would have extensive experience into making wrestling action figures… Enter Jeremy Padawer, who worked at Jakks Pacific during the WWF/WWE action figures glorious days, and you have a perfect match.
The design of the packaging is pretty great, different, which makes them pop out a bit more than the usual action figure blister cards.

The Kenny Omega figure is very cool. The entrance gear is pretty well done, with the single wing in the back. The likeness is pretty good (remember it’s the very first one). I can’t wait to see more of those.

The Young Bucks are wearing their Double or Nothing 2019 Elvis outfits, which are pretty detailed and look very nice. They can be put in that Young Bucks pose that I imagine 90% of the people who will get them will display them in. They can also superkick. What more can we ask?

Cody and Brandi Rhodes (aka lil’ Bran bran, as Brandi calls her herself) are also wearing their Double or Nothing 2019 outfits, along with the weight-belt and the sledgehammer that Cody smashed a throne with, during their entrance .

Le Champion, the Painmaker, the Demo God, the leader of the Inner Circle, Chris Jericho also comes complete with entrance gear, leather jacket, hat and scarf. The tattoos on his arm are very detailed compared to previous incarnations of Jericho in action figure form, also. There’s even the Fozzy ‘F’ on his hand. Very cool detail.
We’re now going to have a showcase, because why not? They’re wrestling figures after all! Just imagine the following comments in the voice of Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone or Excalibur!

Speaking of Jericho, the Ringside Collectibles Exclusive “A Little Bit of the Bubbly” figure is a great addition to the set. Jericho said on his podcast (Talk is Jericho) that the sentence “A little bit of the bubbly” came from the movie “Dumb and Dumber”, with Jim Carrey’s character, Lloyd, saying it when they are at the Icelanding Snow Owl Benefit banquet, and it became viral after people kept retweeting it and editing it in many songs (my favorite being the ‘Mambo number 5’ version). This man has been a catchphrase generating machine for 3 decades, and I hope we’ll get many more of those for the years to come.

A very decent first offering, and I cannot wait to get my hands on the second wave (which includes Jon Moxley, Hangman Page, MJF, Dustin Rhodes, and the Lucha Brothers, Pentagon and Fenix).
By the way, do yourself a favor and follow Jeremy Padawer on social media (@jeremycom on Twitter, and @jeremypadawer on Instagram). He posts a lot about upcoming figures, but also does lots of giveaways and will very often buy a random person an item they want on eBay. Need I say more?

UNBELIEVABLE NEWS:
MAN APPLIES STICKER ON HIS TOYS CORRECTLY ON THE FIRST TRY… LIKE AN ABSOLUTE MAD MAN!
Whether it’s a Lego set, a wrestling ring, a Megazord or a Gundam figure, applying stickers on your toys has always been a major pain in the ass. It is a known fact. The stickers part has always been our least favorite part of any toy that requires them.
Generally, we end up with something looking like this…

And then, removing them to place them better makes a mess, some of them has a strong glue which messes up everything, or they don’t stick anymore, or the corner which you folded to grab the sticker is all messed up, etc… We’ve all been there.
ToyFarce found out in a Facebook group (LEGO Setposting) that a user called Joshua Cameron Baker managed to put his lego stickers perfectly fine, and he added a picture:
This can mean only 3 things:
-Joshua lied.
-Joshua has superpowers.
-This is photoshopped.
While doing some research online to see if such an achievement had happened other times, we came accross this picture, which is also most likely edited. ToyFarce finds it hard to believe that it’s possible to apply stickers with such precision without being a robot.
We also found several memes about the ability to place stickers correctly, which were too good not to share. Here are a few, we’ll share some more on #toymemestuesday.

If you were a kid during the late 80’s/early 90’s, chances are you have already put your hand inside one of those rubbery, sticky, ugly-looking monsters (Wow, that came out wrong!). They were called the Boglins, and came in a packaging that looked like a cage, and were really fun. Well, thanks to Kickstarter, they are making a comeback, and better than ever!
Here is the video announcement from Tim Clarke, one of the creators of the original Boglins:
ToyFarce reached out, and asked a very important question to the Kickstarter team: How about the smell?? If you had a Boglin as a kid, or if one of your friend had a Boglin, you’ll know exactly what we are talking about. The Boglins had a very specific strong rubbery smell. Your hands would kinda stink too after playing with them, but it was totally part of the fun!
Well, it turns out there is an entire team of scientist that is working around the clock, trying to replicate that aroma, that scent, that stench from our childhood!
“Does it smell bad? - No. - Please, keep going.”
The Kickstarter, started by Chris Clofoni in collaboration with Tim Clarke and Maureen Trotto from the original team, has already reached its $25,000 goal, and is sitting around $126,000 at the moment of writing, with still 44 days to go. ToyFarce hopes the team all the success they deserve, and that the Kickstarter keeps shattering expectations, and that we will see (and smell!) more Boglins in the near future!

It’s wednesday, which means it’s “Review day” for ToyFarce, and, oh boy, do we have a treat for you! We finally got our hands on the Super7 Deluxe Ren & Stimpy figures!
They even came with their very own custom shipper boxes! And God knows how important it is to have a shipper box for a figure… If you’ve hanged around on any Hot Toys/one sixth scale figure group or forum, you’ll know that some people refuse to buy figures if they do not come with the shipper box! The figure is considered incomplete without its shipper box to them. We kid you not! They collect the cardboard as much as the figure. (Shout out to the ‘Hot Toys Shipper Boxes’ gang on Facebook!).

And the very first impression is: Those things are HUGE! I had assumed they would be way smaller, but at 7 inches, those can definitely look good displayed next to bigger figures (even one sixth scale). And now, let’s #LetEmBreathe!

First, Ren Hoëk, who comes with 2 alternative heads, 2 alternative sets of hands, a fez, a rubber nipple hat and a plate of pork snacks.
“Mmmmh… Pork faces.”
Stimpy J. Cat comes with an alternative face plate, 2 sets of alternative hands, a litter box that can be used as a stand (ingenious!), a bag of Gritty Kitty litter, a fish skeleton, a nose goblin (!), a fart (!!) and his own rubber nipple hat.
“Sweet relief!”
“It’s my magic nose goblin! I picked it myself!”
“Dad!”
Both figures have minimal articulations (arms and legs + head for Ren), but those are not exactly made to be highly poseable, they’re just tons of fun, and any fan of the 90’s Nickelodeon show will just want them.

Last week, ToyFarce received the brand news Lego set, the 1989 Batwing from the 1989 Batman movie. After posting about it on Instagram, and being mentioned by Lego themselves…
Not once…
But TWICE (after saying that all weekend plans had been cancelled upon reception of the set), we decided to start the construction of that amazing set. Here’s a peak at the progress made during the weekend. But first, mandatory packaging shots!

It was a fun build and that thing is beautiful! It is bigger than expected, and the fact that there is an option to put it on a wall (thanks to a wall mount piece) makes it even better. The display stand is nice, but the Batwing would have to be displayed on a very low shelf in order to be able to look at it. The wall mount option is definitely better. Here are some shots with the Batmobile that came out last year!

Earlier last week, the McFarlane Toys Kickstarter Spawn action figure was nominated for “Toy of the Year 2020” on Toyawards.org. This was the perfect occasion for the Toddfather himself to release some new promo pics of the Kickstarter Spawn figure, which caught the attention of ToyFarce.
After further inspection, it seems that the rooftop on which the Spawn figure appears to be is the same rooftop as the one where the Red (White) Knight Batman picture was taken earlier this year, which can only mean one thing:
There is a rooftop somewhere where the unreleased McFarlane Toys action figures are hanging around.
If you have any information about the location of that rooftop, please let us know in the comments! ToyFarce would be happy to travel there and grab all the unreleased figures, and of course, share them with all of you! We will be waiting for your tips, which can remain anonymous if you prefer so! ToyFarce cannot thank enough the folks at McFarlane Toys for sending us that K-Mart exclusive figure for an early review!
Back in June, ToyFarce was the first to report about a fourth (now fifth) Mortal Kombat Spawn variant. The first one came with a sword (“you have my sword!”), the second one with an axe (“and my axe!”), and a third one would come with a mace (“and my b… mace, apparently”). The new version would be a K-Mart exclusive and come with a devastating weapon that can surely be found in the game, a trumpet.

First, some packaging pictures:
As expected, it is the exact same packaging as the 3 other versions before him, except for one tiny, but very important detail:
It comes with a shiny FREAKING trumpet!
Now, you’ve probably already seen the reviews about that figure plenty of times, it is still the exact same Spawn, has amazing articulations, can be posed in so many awesome poses it should not even be legal, etc… Well, those reviews were absolutely right. This figure is stunning, and it is always great to get a Spawn figure from McFarlane Toys. We can’t wait for the Kickstarter one!
Now, the important part from this one: Its glorious weapon!

A “bronze edition” (you know, those figures that are called bronze, painted in gold, and made of plastic) to match the trumpet would be pretty cool!

The Zombie versions (aka repaints) of the DC Essentials figure, from the comic book from DC Comics called DCeased, which is pretty much DC’s answer to the critically acclaimed Marvel Zombies comic books, which came out over a decade ago. Lego, the Danish building sets giant, has released a series of costumes for adult that is extremely… creepy! Look at their hands! Look at the bottom part! There is something inherently wrong with a Lego mini-figure with human sized proportions, and normal legs. It looks like something right out of Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory!
