MCFARLANE TOYS DC MULTIVERSE YEAR 1 - PART 2!

It’s Wednesday. You know what that means… ToyFarce review!

We’re continuing the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Year 1 reviews, with part 2. Full disclosure, I skipped the Wonder Woman wave, because I didn’t think they looked great, and was waiting to see what a MAFEX or SH Figuarts would look like before getting one, and now that we’ve seen the movie, well…I won’t be getting those either.

I had already typed a very nice and long review for each figures, but my browser crashed right at the end and I don’t have time right now to rewrite it all, so this will be a bit shorter than the last one. Apologies to the 3 people that actually read it!

BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM WAVE

toyfa

The “Batman: Arkham” video game franchise is one of my favorite video game franchises, and I already did collect most action figures that came out from those games, so when those were announced, it was a no-brainer.

BATMAN (ARKHAM ASYLUM):

Great figure, very simple and basic Batman, which is never a bad thing. The only issue everybody had were the eyes, that are basically just a blue/black dot. Some people did an amazing job repainting them (either white or more detailled).

THE JOKER (ARKHAM ASYLUM)

Finally, the first Joker from McFarlane Toys! When I first saw the promo pics, I was a bit concerned about the head, which looked a bit odd, but in the end, he looks pretty great. The expression looked goofier on the promo pics.

BATMAN: WHITE KNIGHT WAVE

17.jpg

Batman: White Knight was a fantastic comic book by writer/artist Sean Murphy (Punk Rock Jesus, The Wake, Chrononauts). When that wave was announced, I was very excited to get big 7” figures from that comic book, with that design.

BATMAN (WHITE KNIGHT)

This figure looks like it walked right out of the comic book. It is SPOT-ON. It also has a nice range of articulations so can recreate many poses from the comic book and covers (we've all seen the pictures at this point). It comes with a grappling gun and 2 different ropes for it (rolled or straight). There is a peg on his belt to attach the rolled one, which is a great touch.

18.jpg

20.jpg
21.jpg

THE JOKER (WHITE KNIGHT)

The headsculpts, especially the Jack Napier (no make-up) one also look like they came right out of the comic book. The outfit is the GTO (Gotham Terrorism Oppression) uniform from the comic book. Not the most memorable, but it is nice to have variety, so I'm not complaining!

“KAPOW!”, “CRUNCH!”, “BAM!”

AZRAEL (CURSE OF THE WHITE KNIGHT)

The sequel to Batman: White Night came out a year later (2019). In the comic book, Jack Napier/The Joker recruits Azrael to help uncover a dark secret of Gotham. That figure is an amazing representation of that Azrael. It comes with his sword with a fire effect, and it looks incredible.

DARK NIGHTS: METAL WAVE

34.jpg

It was very expected that McFarlane Toys would do action figures from the Dark Nights: Metal comic book, especially since Greg Capullo, Todd's old Spawn comic book buddy, did all the designs, and they did not disappoint! The figures look exactly like in the comic books, and one of them is indeed a lot of plastic!

BATMAN (EARTH -32) aka DAWNBREAKER

In the comic book, a young Bruce Wayne is recruited by the Green Lantern corps right after losing his parents. He tries to reanimate them, but can't, and his will, anger, and grief override the Green Lantern ring. He then decides to fight crime…lethally. The figure comes with a flight stand and a bat-construct made of green light.

PicsArt_02-03-01.13.18.jpg

BATMAN (EARTH -44) aka MURDER MACHINE

This is what happens when Batman asks Cyborg to create an A.I to replace the recently deceased Alfred, and it becomes a virus, taking over Bruce Wayne's mind, becoming a lethat weapon that will kill anything that could be a threat to Batman (friend or does). The figure is the simplest one of this wave, but the details are very nice.

PicsArt_02-03-01.15.07.jpg

BATMAN (EARTH -1) aka DEVASTATOR

Devastator is from a planet of the Dark Multiverse where Batman used the Doomsday virus on himself in order to defeat Superman. The virus ends up spreading and he cannot save his world. That figure is part of the “That’s a lot of plastic!” figures that Todd McFarlane talked about in his interviews. It reminds me of the Overkill figure from the very first Spawn wave.

THE GRIM KNIGHT

The Grim Knight is the Punisher equivalent of Batman. When his parents were killed, young Bruce Wayne managed to get the gun from his parents' killer and shot him dead. He would then become a vigilante that relies heavily on weapons, and killing. A lot.

WAVE… 6? (MISCELLANEOUS WAVE)

PicsArt_02-03-01.18.31.jpg

A Flash, a Joker and an armored Azrael? Well, why the hell not? Let's gooooo.

THE FLASH (REBIRTH)

That is a very decent Flash figure that is only made better by the addition of the lightning effects (yeah, the one from the two-pack with Red Death doesn't come with those, so you need that one too. Damn you, Todd!). His facial expression, a smirk, is pretty nice for a Flash figure. (The one from the two-pack has an angrier face).

THE JOKER (REBIRTH)

Now that is the one that I was the most disappointed with, to be honest. I had high expectations for a comic book version of the Joker from McFarlane Toys. I understand it's a call back to the Super Powers figure color-scheme, which is nice, but that head sculpt and paint really suck (in my opinion). He doesn't look anything like the Rebirth version. The red eye make-up is awfulb(once again, in my opinion). I guess I'll wait for the next one… the figure still had decent articulations, though. Crowbar + long gun as accessories.

AZRAEL (CURSE OF THE WHITE KNIGHT)

Beefed-up Azrael from the Curse of the White Knight storyline? Yep. The figure looks awesome but the articulations are pretty restricted. Still a great looking figure.

TOYFARCE REVIEWS:

MCFARLANE TOYS DC MULTIVERSE YEAR 1, PART 1 (FIRST WAVE 1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY)!

It’s Wednesday. You know what that means… ToyFarce review!

About a year ago, give or take a few days, the first wave of McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse figures started to hit Walmarts all over the US. It was supposed to come out on either Jan 19th or Jan 24th,2020 but lots of stores ‘broke street date’ and had them out before, which caused panic and FOMO all over social media, with people paying way over double retail to secure the figures mere days before the actual release date (Yes, it was very silly. I wonder how the guy that paid $100 for a Batman who Laughs feels today).

It seems that figures from that wave are still popping up in stores to this day (a year later), because I’ve seen people post pictures of the Animated Series Superman figure, saying “SCORE! Did you guys know this one was coming out??” while it is a year old, so here’s a look at the full entire first wave (minus the Bat-Raptor vehicle, which I wasn’t interested in).

(Not on the pic: Comic book Superman and Unchained Superman)

(Not on the pic: Comic book Superman and Unchained Superman)

When Todd McFarlane announced that he would be picking up the license for DC Comics at the ToyFair in 2019, I was very excited since I’ve always liked McFarlane Toys figures, and have been collecting DC Direct/Collectibles items for a long time. 11 months later, the first wave came out. This will be the first part of a 3-part review of the first year of the DC Multiverse line.

BATMAN (DETECTIVE COMICS 1000):

First off, the first Batman figure released by McFarlane Toys. At the time, we were all innocent and did not know there was going to be 20492 more coming after that. This figure had a pretty divisive reception, people either loved it or hated it. It still does have great articulations and is pretty nice for a basic Batman. My only issue with it is the squinted eyes, but it makes him look like taken from a Jae Lee design. Comes with a grappling gun and batarang.

SUPERMAN (ACTION COMICS):

Now this is a Superman figure! The sculpt, the face, everything is great with that one. It comes with a flight stand so you can display your Supes up, up and away. I haven’t seen a single complaint about this one, and I understand why. A solid Superman.

HARLEY QUINN (CLASSIC):

Now that one left me a bit puzzled. She is supposed to look like the comic book version, but looks more like the animated series version at the same time. The facial expression and paint is very simple compared to the other figures, and I do not know why. This is the weakest one from that first wave for me. Also, she’s the same size as all the other figures, which a lot of people hated about her, calling her “Giant Harley”. The accessories are nice (mallet, gun with a “bang” flag), the articulation is great, but that face…

GREEN ARROW (TV SERIES):

That TV show was great for about 3 seasons, and then went downhill until it ended. Stephen Amell did do an amazing job in the show, though. I had the DC Collectibles figures from the Arrow series, so I was curious to see what the McFarlane version would bring to the table: a bit more articulations (double elbows and knees). The jacket is made of a soft rubber, which restricts the posing a bit, but it still looks pretty good. The textures of the costume are very nice. The likeness? Close enough… Comes with a quiver filled with arrows, and a bow (that looks kinda crappy).

BATMAN (ANIMATED SERIES):

Now that one got a lot of people confused and angry. To my understanding, it is a Batman, as he would look in the Animated Series if designed by McFarlane Toys. It’s an interpretation of the design from the Batman from the Animated series from Todd McFarlane/the team at McFarlane Toys. People got so mad that it didn’t look EXACTLY like the designs from Bruce Timm (like we didn’t already get half a dozen of perfectly accurate figures from DC Collectibles in the last decade…). They gave it their own spin, and I am fine with that. It’s a great figure (and I’m tired to pretend it’s not, Murray!). Great range of articulation too! Comes with a pair of extra hands, grappling gun and batarang.

SUPERMAN (ANIMATED SERIES):

That Superman goes on par with the Batman, it’s once again a “stylized” version of the Animated series design by McFarlane Toys. Same as Batman, great range of articulation. The only nitpick would be that it didn’t come with a flight stand like the other Superman, which would have been great. He comes with a couple of extra hands and a piece of bent steel.

GREEN LANTERN (JOHN STEWART - ANIMATED SERIES):

Another stylized Animated series figure with a ‘modern’ John Stewart. The figure comes with great accessories (constructs made of green lantern solid light, I mean!). Once again, a flight stand would have been amazing, but I’m fine with it that way too. Those 3 animated figures are very decent and quite big.

BATMAN (HELLBAT SUIT):

Now for the big boys! To quote Todd McFarlane: “That’s a lot of plastic!”. A great big figure, with huge wings that can be folded. This is the first time the Hellbat Suite was made into a figure, and it looks amazing. The shiny paint job on parts of the armor looks ridiculously good. More of that, please!

SUPERMAN (UNCHAINED):

Another big boy with the Unchained Superman from the comic book of the same name. Jim Lee’s design was already amazing in the comic book, and the figure looks like it just came right out of it. It has a pair of wings that can be folded to look like a cape, or open. A beautiful piece of toy-engineering. (No comparison shots, due to lack of other armored Superman).

PicsArt_01-27-11.24.25.jpg

THE BATMAN WHO LAUGHS (BUILD-A-BATMOBILE):

The following 3 figures came with a piece of a Batmobile, à la “Build-a-figure” from other toy lines (this one comes with the left side of the car). The Batman who Laughs is the only brand new character from that wave (in the sense that there had never been any other action figure version of him before this one came out), and what can I say: McFarlane Toys sure know how to do creepy! It looks just like the Greg Capullo designs from the Dark Night: Metal comic books, and comes with a big knife and a scythe. What else?

BATGIRL (BUILD-A-BATMOBILE):

A very nice figure of ol’Barbara Gordon, coming with the right side of the Build-a-Batmobile. One of the best figures from that wave, with decent articulation allowing great poses. We need more Batgirl figures. She comes with a grappling gun and a batarang.

NIGHTWING (BUILD-A-BATMOBILE):

Last but not least, Nightwing, aka Dick Grayson, formerly known as the boy wonder, Robin, coming with the center part of the Build-a-Batmobile. A very nice sculpt on this Nightwing (maybe a bit too emo-ish on the expression). A highly articulated Nightwing (double elbows, knees, all the works…) was long overdue. He comes with his Escrima sticks.

BUILD-A-BATMOBILE:

Here’s the Build-a-Batmobile, when you combine the 3 parts from The Batman Who Laughs, Batgirl and Nightwing. I really like the design they chose for this Batmobile. I really hope there will be a few more in the future, even though it seems they have favored Build-a-figures rather than vehicles in the waves after that.

PicsArt_01-27-11.29.09.jpg
PicsArt_01-27-11.29.51.jpg

For a first wave, it was a very satisfying wave that the folks at McFarlane Toys gave us (not that I had any doubt about it, since I’ve been buying their product since the very first Spawn figure nearly 25 years ago). Little did we know that new figures would be announced every couple of weeks and be released soon after that, totalling in 49 figures released in 2020 alone (with already 35+ announced for the first half of 2021…yikes).

PicsArt_01-27-11.13.07.jpg

The McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Year 1, Part 2 review should drop very soon (I am unsure yet if I want to drag this over 3 weeks, so I might release them at different times, as ‘bonus reviews’). Part 2 will most likely deal with the waves up to the Dark Nights: Metal wave.

BREAKING NEWS:

MORE MCFARLANE TOYS DC MULTIVERSE LEAKS?!

For once, ToyFarce managed to get a scoop before The Voice of Reason (sorry Patrick @pzahui!) about McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse future products!

After the leaks about the Snyder’s Justice League movie figures a few days ago, a collectibles store in Malaysia (Have you noticed that it’s always some stores in Malaysia that leak those?) sent ToyFarce the scoop about the upcoming waves, and it is surprising, to say the least! As usual, no pictures yet, but you can bet that the Toddfather will make a live video about it very soon! (What’s up with the toothbrush?)

IMG_20210115_112002__01.jpg

There will be a wave of 4 figures from the classic “Batman Forever” movie: Batman, Robin, Two-face and the Riddler. The figures are expected to be 7-inch and will feature all your favorite things about McFarlane Toys figures (articulations, ab-crunch, etc…).

GettyImages-607408140-small.jpg
1849954.jpg

It’s great to see high-quality figures from what Jonathan Ross called “One of the greatest movies ever made”!

FB_IMG_1610696807093.jpg

The following wave will be “Batman and Robin”-themed and will have 5 figures + a build-a-figure Bane, each separate figures coming with different parts in order to build the figure (you know the drill…). Batman will come with Bane’s head, Robin with Bane’s arms, Batgirl with Bane’s torso, Poison Ivy with Bane’s hands, and Mr Freeze with Bane’s legs.

We can already hear the excitement from all Batman collectors and DC Multiverse collectors (which are basically the same thing!).

REVIEW: MAFEX BATMAN HUSH

TOYFARCE REVIEWS:

MAFEX BATMAN HUSH!

It's Wednesday. You know what that means.

With the MAFEX Batman HUSH - Superman coming out this month, and seeing that the Batman popped up in a lot of people’s Top 10 list of 2020, ToyFarce decided to revisit that glorious figure.

PicsArt_01-06-01.53.43.jpg
PicsArt_01-06-01.53.57.jpg

First of all, I am a huge fan of the HUSH storyline, have always been a huge fan of Jim Lee’s art, and his Batman is easily in my top 3 favorite versions of the character. The blue and grey costume, the short ears, I couldn’t get enough of it, and for a long time, the DC Direct version of this Batman was one of my favorite Batman figures. Its presence, its subtle pose…he’s been an important part of collection for nearly 15 years (the DC Direct Hush line was released in 2004. Ouch.).

PicsArt_01-06-01.58.22.jpg

When MAFEX announced their Batman HUSH line, I couldn’t have been happier. This was pre-ordered on day one on Amiami, and I got it a few days after it came out back in July 2020.

PicsArt_01-06-01.54.23.jpg

As is tradition with MAFEX (and no, I don’t mean that it was delayed…), the figure is highly articulated, and comes with tons of accessories: 6 pairs of alternative hands, 2 alternative headsculpts, batarangs, grappling gun hook and line, etc…

PicsArt_01-06-01.54.38.jpg

Right out of the box, I could already tell it was a great figure. Even in ‘museum pose’, that figure looks pretty great. Sure, it’s not perfect, but it looks damn good. The cape is a bit of a pain in the ass, at least for me, with the wires inside, but they allow for great poses.

PicsArt_01-06-01.54.59.jpg

But let’s be honest, you don’t buy MAFEX figures to leave them in ‘museum pose’, that would be a damn shame! This thing is ridiculously posable, so let’s pose that bad (bat?) boy!

QUEUE BATMAN THEME SONG

MAFEX has already announced a Superman, a Catwoman, and the villain HUSH himself which will be released this year (unless they get all delayed to 2022…). I will definitely pick them up, so keep checking ToyFarce if you want to see their reviews.

mafex-batman-hush-batman-hush-black-ver-625121.1.jpg

There is also a Black and grey version of this Batman that just came out, which I think I will skip, but it has the Gargoyle stand, to recreate that amazing Jim Lee art picture of Batman standing on his gargoyle, so I might need it… Damn you, MAFEX.

REVIEW: VTS TOYS “BLACK SKULL” SIXTH SCALE FIGURE

Today, we’ll take a look at VTS Toys (or Virtual Toys) “Black Skull” figure.

PicsArt_12-16-10.51.01.jpg

TOYFARCE REVIEWS:

VTS TOYS “BLACK SKULL” SIXTH SCALE FIGURE

Finally, there was some progress in the post system and I got my hands on some fresh, brand new toy! Today, we’ll take a look at VTS Toys (or Virtual Toys) “Black Skull” figure. VTS Toys is a third party brand, and just like every other third party brand, they have to use the “slightly different name” trick to avoid getting unwanted attention (which reminds me that I definitely have to talk about that in an article someday…)

Disclaimer: This figure has nothing to do with a video game called ‘Arkh@m Orig1ns’ or a character called ‘Black M@sk’ (*wink wink*).

The packaging is pretty sober, with some texture on the mask that show when displayed against a light.

PicsArt_12-16-09.43.33.jpg
PicsArt_12-16-09.43.52.jpg

Inside, you’ll find the figure along with a multitude of different hands, 2 alternative eye ‘pieces’, and a second level with weapons, accessories and base stand.

PicsArt_12-16-09.44.21.jpg

Right off the bat(man?), that figure is of very high quality, and will fit very well next to another pricier/non-third party sixth scale figure brand. That depiction of Roman Sionis and his mask is spot-on. The tailoring is quite amazing, and that white suit looks spectacular.

PicsArt_12-16-09.45.02.jpg

The 3 different sets of eyes include the black parts around the eyes (like if he was wearing some sort of hood under the mask) with eyes looking straight, and to the side, and a third option without the black hood looking straight in front of him. There is a part behind the head held by magnets (how do they work?!), which can be removed in order to change the eyes.

PicsArt_12-16-09.46.03.jpg
PicsArt_12-16-09.45.44.jpg
PicsArt_12-16-09.46.39.jpg
PicsArt_12-16-09.51.08.jpg

The figure is highly poseable and has that intimidating look that mob bosses usually have.

PicsArt_12-16-09.47.06.jpg

Now, about the accessories: VTS Toys did a great job on that part too. The black baseball bat is actually made of steel, and will do that signature “cling” sound when dropped on the floor or smashed against the head of an enemy. I didn’t expect that!

PicsArt_12-16-09.47.31.jpg
PicsArt_12-16-09.47.45.jpg

The assault rifle has a retractable armrest that can be pulled in or out. The ammo mag can be removed and had great details as well (the bullet at the top is painted and all!).

PicsArt_12-16-09.48.07.jpg
PicsArt_12-16-09.48.52.jpg

Even Black Ma…I mean Black Skull’s watch is detailed (a bit of a pain in the ass to attach, but it wouldn’t be a real sixth scale figure experience if there wasn’t a part that give you trouble to attach on it, would it?)

PicsArt_12-16-09.49.13.jpg

It’s getting hot in here, so let’s remove his jacket, shall we?

PicsArt_12-16-09.49.30.jpg

The holsters can be put under the suit. The guns have also amazing details, with the ammo mags being removable as well, with a painted bullet at the top for both, and the top part can be pulled back, like on a real gun, a nice touch!

“You cockroaches wanna play rough? Okay, I'm reloaded!! ” - Michael Bolton

“You cockroaches wanna play rough? Okay, I'm reloaded!! ” - Michael Bolton

“BANG BANG!”

“BANG BANG!”

There’s also a bomb included with the figure, once again showing that VTS Toys isn’t joking around. All the details on the ‘motherboard’ are painted nicely. It’s as if they have someone at VTS Toys that knows its way around weapons and bombs… Oh boy, that’s a weird thought.

PicsArt_12-16-09.50.49.jpg

The base stand is very nice too, in the sense that it’s not the usual flat oval black plastic bland base stand, but they added some rubble, as if there had just been a stand down where Black M..Skull is located (and he won!). Here are all the accessories:

PicsArt_12-16-09.51.22.jpg

That figure is a great offering from VTS Toys, and will look amazing next to your other Arkham-related sixth scale figure, especially for the price which is a fraction of what a Hot Toys figure usually costs (about $135 on KGHobby).

REVIEW: GAMESTOP EXCLUSIVE DC COLLECTIBLES BATMAN VS TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

Growing up watching the TMNT cartoon and Batman the Animated Series, this was a no-brainer.

TOYFARCE REVIEWS:

GAMESTOP EXCLUSIVE DC COLLECTIBLES BATMAN VS TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

With the post system being what it is these days during the holiday season, during a global pandemic, I have not received any of the new toys that are in transit, so today, we’ll have a look at older stuff, like the Gamestop Exclusive DC Collectibles (it was still ‘Collectibles’ at the time!) Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures (those pictures were taken in early 2020).

It was first a comic book crossover event, that was actually pretty good (2 sequels have come out since), and DC made an animated movie out of the first story. Those figures have the design of the animated movie.

Here are some packaging shots:

PicsArt_12-09-12.21.15.jpg

(The 'Robin & Raphaël' box was smashed during transport, so I just opened that one right away to make sure the figures were fine, so no photos of that box. The figures were fine!)

First, let’s check the leaders of their respective families: The Batman and Leonardo.

PicsArt_12-09-12.21.29.jpg
“Dude, you’re dressed like a bat!”

“Dude, you’re dressed like a bat!”

“You are literally a turtle.”

“Fair enough. Let’s fight crime!”

“Fair enough. Let’s fight crime!”

Now for the rebel of their families: Robin (Damian Wayne) and Raphaël.

“Oh, you put the hood on? Things are getting serious!”

“Oh, you put the hood on? Things are getting serious!”

“COME AT US, BRO!”

“COME AT US, BRO!”

Then, they paired the tech savvy ones together, with Batgirl coming along with Donatello.

“You got any games on that?”

“You got any games on that?”

“Nevermind. Time to fight!”

“Nevermind. Time to fight!”

Michaelangelo, or Mikey, the goofiest of the Ninja Turtles, was somehow paired with Alfred, the serious yet snarky butler. Odd pairing, but it works for me!

PicsArt_12-09-12.24.24.jpg
“Master Michaelangelo, may I ask you not to use your skateboard inside the manor, please…”

“Master Michaelangelo, may I ask you not to use your skateboard inside the manor, please…”

“Come on, I just waxed the floors…”

“Come on, I just waxed the floors…”

PS: Alfred has NO CHILL.

PS: Alfred has NO CHILL.

Finally, the baddies, Shredder and Ras’al’Ghul came in the same set, which makes a lot of sense.

“Soon, the turtles will be defeated!”

“Soon, the turtles will be defeated!”

“And the detective will see how much smarter than him I am!”

“And the detective will see how much smarter than him I am!”

“What is this thing anyway? Mu-ta-gen?”

“What is this thing anyway? Mu-ta-gen?”

Those figures are pretty awesome. I like the fabric they used for the cape, it allows for nice movement and display. The “cell shading” effect on the figures is a nice touch, and makes them look better than other versions of the characters. Some people didn’t like the design of the animated movie and would have prefered it to be closer to the comic book, but they still look awesome on a shelf. Growing up watching the TMNT cartoon and Batman the Animated Series, this was a no-brainer for me anyway.

A great representation, whether you are a fan of the Bat-Family…

*HUGE* PRIME1 STUDIO ANNOUNCEMENTS

During the weekend, Prime1 Studio offered a show case of all the upcoming products, and there were some huge surprises!

SIZEABLE NEWS:

*HUGE* PRIME1 STUDIO ANNOUNCEMENTS!

Prime1 Studio is notorious for their amazing 1:3 scale statues. Their big, very detailed amazing statues with nicely designed bases don’t have much competition. They’re just stunning. Collectors passionately get them and make them the centerpieces of their collection. During the weekend, Prime1 Studio offered a show case of all the upcoming products, and there were some huge surprises!

Here are a few sneak peeks of what they have announced (notice the size of the statue compared to the announcer):

ToyFarce also heard that Prime1 Studio is working out a deal with landlords so that their statues will include the price of the rent of an appartment, so that you can have a place to display those gigantic statues, so that you don’t worry about missing out. Some of their pieces already cost way more than 2 months of rent, so it does make sense for them to venture that way.

Finally, Prime1 Studio announced their long awaited Joker from the Dark Knight movie, and the crowd went mild for that one!

It’s not ToyFarce’s style to make fun of things (never!) but… remember when the Joker was sniffing glue in the movie?

HOT TOYS ANNOUNCES DARK KNIGHT RISES PRODUCTS, S.H. FIGUARTS ANNOUNCES AVENGERS MOVIE FIGURES…WAIT, WHAT YEAR IS THIS??

2020. This entire year has felt like a decade already. Remember February? That was like 3 years ago. Yet, it seems we’re getting announcement for toys that already came out … in 2012!

This week, Hot Toys has announced their (re-)releases of the Dark Knight Rises Batman figure, along with the Bat-Pod.

FB_IMG_1607071314213.jpg
FB_IMG_1607071303156.jpg

Earlier last week, S.H. Figuarts announced a series of action figures from the Avengers movie. No, not Endgame, not Infinity War, not even Age of Ultron: the first Avengers movie.

FB_IMG_1607071488832.jpg

At the same time, we’re getting ‘retro’ figures with packaging from the 90’s from the Marvel Legends line, Vintage Collection Star Wars action figures in the same packaging as the ones in the 80’s, Power Rangers figures from the Mighty Morphin’ show from the 90’s…

WHAT YEAR IS THIS??

Does it sound suspicious to anyone else that we are also getting ‘Back to the Future’ figures from NECA, also this year? The same year that we’re getting all those products from the past again? Doc Brown has got some explaining to do!

ASSEMBLY OF LEGO 1989 BATWING COMPLETED!

“Where does he get all those wonderful toys?” On Lego.com, of course!

Last week, ToyFarce received the brand news Lego set, the 1989 Batwing from the 1989 Batman movie. After posting about it on Instagram, and being mentioned by Lego themselves…

Not once…

Not once…

But TWICE (after saying that all weekend plans had been cancelled upon reception of the set), we decided to start the construction of that amazing set. Here’s a peak at the progress made during the weekend. But first, mandatory packaging shots!

It was a fun build and that thing is beautiful! It is bigger than expected, and the fact that there is an option to put it on a wall (thanks to a wall mount piece) makes it even better. The display stand is nice, but the Batwing would have to be displayed on a very low shelf in order to be able to look at it. The wall mount option is definitely better. Here are some shots with the Batmobile that came out last year!

LOOKING FOR ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE LOCATION OF THE MCFARLANE TOYS PROMO PICS ROOFTOP!

INVESTIGATIVE NEWS:

LOOKING FOR ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE LOCATION OF THE MCFARLANE TOYS PROMO PICS ROOFTOP!

Earlier last week, the McFarlane Toys Kickstarter Spawn action figure was nominated for “Toy of the Year 2020” on Toyawards.org. This was the perfect occasion for the Toddfather himself to release some new promo pics of the Kickstarter Spawn figure, which caught the attention of ToyFarce.

Spawn-Kickstarter-Production-Sample__scaled_600.jpg

After further inspection, it seems that the rooftop on which the Spawn figure appears to be is the same rooftop as the one where the Red (White) Knight Batman picture was taken earlier this year, which can only mean one thing:

There is a rooftop somewhere where the unreleased McFarlane Toys action figures are hanging around.

target-white-knight-batman-exclusive.jpg

If you have any information about the location of that rooftop, please let us know in the comments! ToyFarce would be happy to travel there and grab all the unreleased figures, and of course, share them with all of you! We will be waiting for your tips, which can remain anonymous if you prefer so! If we get enough informations, we will make a follow up article!

More news at 11:00… let the investigation begin!
