REVIEW: MAFEX BATMAN HUSH
TOYFARCE REVIEWS:
MAFEX BATMAN HUSH!
It's Wednesday. You know what that means.
With the MAFEX Batman HUSH - Superman coming out this month, and seeing that the Batman popped up in a lot of people’s Top 10 list of 2020, ToyFarce decided to revisit that glorious figure.
First of all, I am a huge fan of the HUSH storyline, have always been a huge fan of Jim Lee’s art, and his Batman is easily in my top 3 favorite versions of the character. The blue and grey costume, the short ears, I couldn’t get enough of it, and for a long time, the DC Direct version of this Batman was one of my favorite Batman figures. Its presence, its subtle pose…he’s been an important part of collection for nearly 15 years (the DC Direct Hush line was released in 2004. Ouch.).
When MAFEX announced their Batman HUSH line, I couldn’t have been happier. This was pre-ordered on day one on Amiami, and I got it a few days after it came out back in July 2020.
As is tradition with MAFEX (and no, I don’t mean that it was delayed…), the figure is highly articulated, and comes with tons of accessories: 6 pairs of alternative hands, 2 alternative headsculpts, batarangs, grappling gun hook and line, etc…
Right out of the box, I could already tell it was a great figure. Even in ‘museum pose’, that figure looks pretty great. Sure, it’s not perfect, but it looks damn good. The cape is a bit of a pain in the ass, at least for me, with the wires inside, but they allow for great poses.
But let’s be honest, you don’t buy MAFEX figures to leave them in ‘museum pose’, that would be a damn shame! This thing is ridiculously posable, so let’s pose that bad (bat?) boy!
It’s like this figure came right out of the comic book. You can recreate many of the poses directly from it, without any issue.
MAFEX has already announced a Superman, a Catwoman, and the villain HUSH himself which will be released this year (unless they get all delayed to 2022…). I will definitely pick them up, so keep checking ToyFarce if you want to see their reviews.
There is also a Black and grey version of this Batman that just came out, which I think I will skip, but it has the Gargoyle stand, to recreate that amazing Jim Lee art picture of Batman standing on his gargoyle, so I might need it… Damn you, MAFEX.
More news at 11:00… Same bat-time, same bat-channel!
