DC/WARNER REMOVE GUNS FROM ALL UPCOMING PRODUCTS… TOYS PROTEST!!
ToyFarce heard that the action figures were not happy about this new rule and have decided to protest, as a sign of cooperation for their soon-to-be-released friends.
BREAKING NEWS:
DC/WARNER REMOVE GUNS FROM ALL UPCOMING PRODUCTS… TOYS PROTEST!!
It all started a few weeks ago, when Mezco posted some promotional pictures from their upcoming ‘Constantine’ figure. Some fans noticed that no pictures were showing John Constantine holding a gun, rifle, or his signature cigarette… Mezco replied with a tweet saying that they were requested to omit the items from their current marketing photos…
Gun holding hand…without gun
There were also promo pictures from Prime 1 Studio’s Grim Knight statue, that were all missing the weapons, even though the Grim Knight is basically the Batman version of the Punisher (in his universe, he grabbed the gun from his parents’ killer and shot him dead on the spot, leading to him becoming a vigilante that relies heavily on lethal weapons).
Gun holding position…without guns. Pretty silly, no?
Notice the blurred guns
Then, earlier this week, the collectors who have ordered the “Batman Hush: Joker” or the “Dark Knight Returns: Armored Batman”, both from MAFEX received an emails mentioning that the guns will not be included with the figure anymore…
The Joker’s gun
(Note that it is not even a gun, but a prop gun with a flag in it…)
Armored Batman’s gun
It was mentioned last year that Warner Bros had decided to remove guns from their shows, including the upcoming Looney Tunes reboot show, in response to the US gun violence. Characters like Elmer Fudd or Yosemite Sam will not be able to have guns or rifles in the new shows, but it was not expected at any point that the regulation would also find its way in DC Comics and all the toys as well (especially after McFarlane Toys just released a Grim Knight, Flashpoint Batman and Red Hood figures, all dual-wielding guns and weapons of all sorts).
ToyFarce heard that the action figures were not happy about this new rule and have decided to protest, as a sign of cooperation for their soon-to-be-released friends. They want their right to bear arms to be respected. “We Want Guns!” signs were seen in the crowd, and ToyFarce tried to get a few words from some of the members of the protest…
DC Comics gun-wielding figures decided to take to the streets to show their discontent…
“I am an Armored Batman too and I have a gun, so there’s no reason my MAFEX counterpart shouldn’t have one. It’s a 1:12 gun…”
“Well, what can I say? This thing is actually glued to my hand and can’t even be removed! A Joker from Batman:Hush without a prop-gun is like a joke without punchline, it makes no sense!
What does that mean for future DC Multiverse figures from McFarlane Toys, for example? Will the Unmasked Flashpoint Batman come empty handed? Only time will tell…
We will keep you informed of any significant developments.
More news at 11:00… That’s All, Folks!

REVIEW: NECA’S “TMNT 2: THE SECRET OF THE OOZE” TOKKA AND RAHZAR
This week, we’ll review NECA’s most anticipated release from last year: the Tokka and Rahzar 2-pack from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II - The Secret of the Ooze”!
TOYFARCE REVIEWS:
NECA’S “TMNT 2: THE SECRET OF THE OOZE” TOKKA AND RAHZAR!
It’s Wednesday. You know what that means… ToyFarce review!
This week, we’re taking a break from the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Year 1 reviews again (I’m a bit behind on my toy photography!), and we’ll review NECA’s most anticipated release from last year: the Tokka and Rahzar 2-pack from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II - The Secret of the Ooze”!
First off, I have to mention the amazing bubble-wrap sarcophagus thingy that NECA packed the set with. This thing is beautiful and I haven’t dared to throw it away yet. It’s the best protection I’ve ever witnessed.
This set was “made-to-order”, in the sense that it was an exclusive for the NECA Store, and NECA opened pre-orders on their site for a limited time only (a week or two), and once that time was over, there was no way of getting that set at retail anymore (only secondary market and scalpers, unfortunately). As you can see on the shipping box, it seems they made 11810, so that’s still a pretty good run for those figures.
The box itself is quite big, which is not surprising, considering the size of the figures. They come with a ton of accessories, such as extra hands, a shield, a metal pipe and a wooden bar, an extinguisher, and lots of little easter eggs from the movie.
And now, let’s crack open those bad boys (I always wanted to say that). The “sleeve” inside the box has a barnyard print on it, just like in that scene when they come out of one to attack the turtles, so it’s pretty nice to be able to use it for some pictures as well.
Tokka is a #BEAST. He’s covered in spikes, and his shell is very, very pointy. Seriously. That thing is a weapon. I’m scared it will fall down from a shelf and impale a cat or something. He has a pretty ok “NECA”-set of articulations, even if he can’t do a lot due to his size and weight/balance. The best part is that his face has articulations on the mouth, the nose and the eyebrows (really!). So you can make him look mad, sad,…
Weaponized toy
Mad Tokka is mad
Surprise Tokka!
“DO YOU SMELL WHAT THE TOKK IS COOKING?”
Rahzar is also a #BEAST. He has chains, the parts of his ‘armor’ are loose and move around when you move him. His face is not as articulated as his partner, unfortunately, as you can only open/close his mouth.
Chains!
“GROAR"!”
Both figures look great, with tons of nice little details and the paint job is spot-on. Now it’s time to shamelessly re-enact scenes from the movie!
“Come forward! Attack me if you will. When this is over, you will call me ‘Master’!”
“Mama? MAMA!!!”
“BABIES! THEY’RE BABIES!!”
“TOKKA! RAHZAR!”
“ROAAAAR!”
“Hey, didn’t we see those guys at Wrestlemania?”
“Well, you know what they say! The bigger they are…”
“OUCH…the more bones they break.”
“Alright, you overgrown ugly excuse for a turtle!”
“BONK"!”
“You know…maybe that “ugly” crack was a little bit out of line, huh?”
“Why did I let you talk me into this??”
“Nom noms?”
“Oh-ho… No, they found the cubes! - I told you it wasn’t gonna work!”
“Whooooaaaa!”
“Major spin cycle!”
“CRASH!”
“Now I know what a postal package feels like…”
If you missed out on them, I would say that they are definitely worth tracking down. With a bit of patience and a good amount of luck, you could probably find them at a decent price down the line. No words from NECA on if they will ever re-issue them, but it does seem very unlikely, considering how they were some sort of experiment with the “made-to-order” concept.
“ROOOAAAAAAR!”

COULD THE SARLACC PIT BE THE NEXT HASLAB PROJECT?
The folks at HasLab have been pretty quiet since the successful end of the Razor Crest crowdfunding project, so it is time for us to speculate on what’s coming next!
It’s time to put our sunglasses on and go dune-surfing on Tatooine!
The folks at HasLab have been pretty quiet since the successful end of the Razor Crest crowdfunding project, so it is time for us to speculate on what’s coming next!
They have already released the gorgeous (and huge!) Jabba’s Sail Barge through HasLab, so it would make total sense that the next project could be a scaled Sarlacc Pit to display next to it!
“In his belly, you will find a new definition of pain and suffering, as you are slowly digested over a thousand years.”
Did that quote ever bother anyone else? I mean, you probably die of starvation or dehydration way before that, right? Or does it keep you fed and alive the whole time? Sounds like a lot of work. Anyway…
The last time the Sarlacc Pit came out in toy form was in 2008, as part of a Battle Pack called ‘Battle at the Sarlacc Pit’ (ingenious, huh?), from the Legacy Collection line, so it is long overdue!
*do not make any sex toy joke… do not make any sex toy joke…*
ToyFarce can already imagine what the different rewards unlocked after reaching each goals could be!
UNLOCK 1: SAND!
Bags of sand provided, so your diorama can even look more realistic! Authentic sand from Tatooine (Tunisia/Yuma)!
UNLOCK 2: A BOBA FETT “SNACK” FOR YOUR SARLACC
It goes without saying that the Sarlacc might be hungry after travelling to your home, so it’s nice to know that it would come up with a snack!
UNLOCK 3: ANATOMY POSTER!
For the people who always wondered what a full Sarlacc looks like but never dared to look: We got you covered!
UNLOCK 4: THE FULL GODDAMN THING!
If the project reaches a certain amount, HasLab should go ahead and just do the entire Sarlacc, instead of just stopping at the mouth. You already have bags of sand from the 1st unlock, so you can bury most of it in it, and you will know that the entire thing is there. Look at it, it’s so cute!! I wish I had a Sarlacc plushie…
Will they ever make it ? Well, we don’t know. The closest thing that is available for us is a series of stickers/decals that can be installed in your toilet bowl, but the things falling in it are completely different than a Boba Fett figure… (Also, we do not advise dumping a Boba Fett figure in there!).
We’ll see what the future holds for us in HasLab as soon as they have an idea. Oh, and to HasLab: I am available for consulting if you need more ideas!

THE BIG VALENTINE’S DAY LIST 2021!
We’re a few days away from February 14th, and ToyFarce would like to wish all the toy lovers worldwide a happy Valentine's Day! (And also, a happy name day to all the Valentin(e)s of the world, who can't help but be forgotten on that day every single year).
VALENTINE’S DAY NEWS:
THE BIG VALENTINE’S DAY LIST 2021!
We’re a few days away from February 14th, and ToyFarce would like to wish all the toy lovers worldwide a happy Valentine's Day! (And also, a happy name day to all the Valentin(e)s of the world, who can't help but be forgotten on that day every single year).
Last year, we published a list of some of the biggest love stories in the world of toy collecting, and we thought it would be nice to give that list a little update! (Last year's list: https://www.toyfarce.com/news//2020/02/happy-valentines-day-to-all-toy-lovers.html )
Here are some of the greatest love stories from last year:
The eternal love story that all collectors know about. We’re in 2021, and there is still not an invention that would get rid of dust permanently…That shows how much dust loves our action figures!
Being a toy collector, and being financially irresponsible are pretty much the same thing nowadays!
Good ol’ Detolf. I remember my first… Do you?
It’s only over when you don’t see the wall at all anymore. Then… you start another wall!
“Can I copy your homework, Kenner? - Sure, NECA! But don’t make it too obvious…”
Still waiting on items that were supposed to come back in Q3 2020? Oh, sweet delays…
Todd McFarlane: “Ok, no more Batman… SIKE! Here’s 2 different Batman Beyond ones!”
By the time the figures come out, we have forgotten we ordered them!
“Would you like a bag for all that nothing?”
Nothing says “QC issues” like taking a figure out of the packaging and its limbs snap off…
“Anyone still looking for Vipers or Firefly? THAT WOULD BE $250!!”
Ooooh… Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? - DBZ GOKU!
We hope you’ll have a lovely Valentine’s Day, and don’t forget to treat your toys to a nice candle-lit diner as well! Action figures need love too!

REVIEW: SPREAD THE LOVE WITH PIMP DESTRO (aka PROFIT DIRECTOR DESTRO)
It’s Valentine’s Day week, so we had to review a figure that screams “Love”, and who better than Hasbro’s G.I.Joe Classified Series Profit Director Destro! This figure is loud, colorful, and amazing!
TOYFARCE REVIEWS:
SPREAD THE LOVE WITH PIMP DESTRO (aka PROFIT DIRECTOR DESTRO)!
It’s Wednesday. You know what that means… ToyFarce review!
Suggested music to listen to while checking this review: “Careless Whisper” by George Michael, any Barry White song, Val Venis WWF theme…
It’s Valentine’s Day week, so we had to review a figure that screams “Love”, and who better than Hasbro’s G.I.Joe Classified Series Profit Director Destro (or P.D.D. or Pimp Destro for short)! This figure is loud, colorful, and amazing!
The art on the box is just perfect for that figure, even if inconsistent with other G.I.Joe Classified Series figures, with touches of bright pink and gold (or, you know…yellow).
Front and side
The figure itself is just a retooling/repaint of the regular G.I.Joe Classified Series Destro, but this is a rare case of when the repaint is 1000% better than the original one. I do not have the G.I.Joe Classified Series Destro, but I needed this one. LOOK AT IT!
“Hey yo’!”
“See anything you like?”
When it comes to accessories, that is where that figure really shines at. Obnoxious pink glasses? Check. A burning wad of cash? Check. An outrageous leopard skin cape? Check. Golden gun? Check. He also comes with the same suitcase with a computer and tons of cash in it as the regular Destro, but his is made of gold.
“Oh, you want to see my accessories?”
“Check out the cape.”
BEST. POSE. EVER.
He can also take care of people who would make fun of his outfit.
The figure has, as expected, a decent range of articulations, allowing many poses. Double elbows, double knees, butterfly joints, ab crunch, the whole nine yards, if you are familiar with modern Hasbro products.
“Nothing better than a nice stretch after a day of successful criminal activities”
“Thinking of you…”
“Do you like my V-neck? Would you like to see more?”
Pimp Destro can also be very playful, and will always be there for people who are searching for love, and who have money for it…
“I heart you!”
“Peek-a-boo! I see you”
“Pimpin’ ain’t easy…”
“How you doin’?”
Too bad I don’t have a WWE Godfather figure to go along with it, that would have made a nice photoshoot! How about you? Were you seduced by Pimp Destro? Let us know in the comments!

MCFARLANE TOYS DC MULTIVERSE YEAR 1 - PART 2!
It’s Wednesday. You know what that means… ToyFarce review!
We’re continuing the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Year 1 reviews, with part 2. Full disclosure, I skipped the Wonder Woman wave, because I didn’t think they looked great, and was waiting to see what a MAFEX or SH Figuarts would look like before getting one, and now that we’ve seen the movie, well…I won’t be getting those either.
I had already typed a very nice and long review for each figures, but my browser crashed right at the end and I don’t have time right now to rewrite it all, so this will be a bit shorter than the last one. Apologies to the 3 people that actually read it!
BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM WAVE
The “Batman: Arkham” video game franchise is one of my favorite video game franchises, and I already did collect most action figures that came out from those games, so when those were announced, it was a no-brainer.
BATMAN (ARKHAM ASYLUM):
Great figure, very simple and basic Batman, which is never a bad thing. The only issue everybody had were the eyes, that are basically just a blue/black dot. Some people did an amazing job repainting them (either white or more detailled).
Comparison with Hot Toys, Square Enix Play Arts, and DC Direct Arkham Asylum Batman figures
THE JOKER (ARKHAM ASYLUM)
Finally, the first Joker from McFarlane Toys! When I first saw the promo pics, I was a bit concerned about the head, which looked a bit odd, but in the end, he looks pretty great. The expression looked goofier on the promo pics.
Comparison with Hot Toys, Square Enix Play Arts, and DC Direct Arkham Asylum The Joker figures

Generations of Arkham Asylum Batman and Joker
BATMAN: WHITE KNIGHT WAVE
Batman: White Knight was a fantastic comic book by writer/artist Sean Murphy (Punk Rock Jesus, The Wake, Chrononauts). When that wave was announced, I was very excited to get big 7” figures from that comic book, with that design.
BATMAN (WHITE KNIGHT)
This figure looks like it walked right out of the comic book. It is SPOT-ON. It also has a nice range of articulations so can recreate many poses from the comic book and covers (we've all seen the pictures at this point). It comes with a grappling gun and 2 different ropes for it (rolled or straight). There is a peg on his belt to attach the rolled one, which is a great touch.
THE JOKER (WHITE KNIGHT)
The headsculpts, especially the Jack Napier (no make-up) one also look like they came right out of the comic book. The outfit is the GTO (Gotham Terrorism Oppression) uniform from the comic book. Not the most memorable, but it is nice to have variety, so I'm not complaining!
“KAPOW!”, “CRUNCH!”, “BAM!”
AZRAEL (CURSE OF THE WHITE KNIGHT)
The sequel to Batman: White Night came out a year later (2019). In the comic book, Jack Napier/The Joker recruits Azrael to help uncover a dark secret of Gotham. That figure is an amazing representation of that Azrael. It comes with his sword with a fire effect, and it looks incredible.
Batman: White Knight wave
DARK NIGHTS: METAL WAVE
It was very expected that McFarlane Toys would do action figures from the Dark Nights: Metal comic book, especially since Greg Capullo, Todd's old Spawn comic book buddy, did all the designs, and they did not disappoint! The figures look exactly like in the comic books, and one of them is indeed a lot of plastic!
BATMAN (EARTH -32) aka DAWNBREAKER
In the comic book, a young Bruce Wayne is recruited by the Green Lantern corps right after losing his parents. He tries to reanimate them, but can't, and his will, anger, and grief override the Green Lantern ring. He then decides to fight crime…lethally. The figure comes with a flight stand and a bat-construct made of green light.
BATMAN (EARTH -44) aka MURDER MACHINE
This is what happens when Batman asks Cyborg to create an A.I to replace the recently deceased Alfred, and it becomes a virus, taking over Bruce Wayne's mind, becoming a lethat weapon that will kill anything that could be a threat to Batman (friend or does). The figure is the simplest one of this wave, but the details are very nice.
BATMAN (EARTH -1) aka DEVASTATOR
Devastator is from a planet of the Dark Multiverse where Batman used the Doomsday virus on himself in order to defeat Superman. The virus ends up spreading and he cannot save his world. That figure is part of the “That’s a lot of plastic!” figures that Todd McFarlane talked about in his interviews. It reminds me of the Overkill figure from the very first Spawn wave.
THE GRIM KNIGHT
The Grim Knight is the Punisher equivalent of Batman. When his parents were killed, young Bruce Wayne managed to get the gun from his parents' killer and shot him dead. He would then become a vigilante that relies heavily on weapons, and killing. A lot.
WAVE… 6? (MISCELLANEOUS WAVE)
A Flash, a Joker and an armored Azrael? Well, why the hell not? Let's gooooo.
THE FLASH (REBIRTH)
That is a very decent Flash figure that is only made better by the addition of the lightning effects (yeah, the one from the two-pack with Red Death doesn't come with those, so you need that one too. Damn you, Todd!). His facial expression, a smirk, is pretty nice for a Flash figure. (The one from the two-pack has an angrier face).
* All the single ladies, all the single ladies 🎵 *
Comparison with DC Collectibles TV, Designer Series Greg Capullo and Essentials Flash figures
THE JOKER (REBIRTH)
Now that is the one that I was the most disappointed with, to be honest. I had high expectations for a comic book version of the Joker from McFarlane Toys. I understand it's a call back to the Super Powers figure color-scheme, which is nice, but that head sculpt and paint really suck (in my opinion). He doesn't look anything like the Rebirth version. The red eye make-up is awfulb(once again, in my opinion). I guess I'll wait for the next one… the figure still had decent articulations, though. Crowbar + long gun as accessories.
Comparison with DC Direct Hush, Designer series, Tamashii nations Injustice, DC direct New 52, mezco Joker, DC Collectibles Essentials, Kotobukiya, DC Collectibles Icons and Comics Joker
AZRAEL (CURSE OF THE WHITE KNIGHT)
Beefed-up Azrael from the Curse of the White Knight storyline? Yep. The figure looks awesome but the articulations are pretty restricted. Still a great looking figure.
Comparison with all DC Multiverse White Knight figures
Next time, part 3 will go up to the Flashpoint Batman.

SUPER7: “GO BIG *AND* GO HOME!” - MORE HUGE PLAYSETS TO COME?!
One thing is for sure, collectors will need to make a lot of space for all the upcoming huge toys!
BREAKING NEWS:
SUPER7: “GO BIG *AND* GO HOME!” - MORE HUGE PLAYSETS TO COME?!
Last year, Super7 became the number 1 reason why couples are arguing after releasing the HUGE Masters of the Universe Snake Mountain playset, a huge playset that is in scale with their MOTU Classics line. Hundreds of collectors are still in the doghouse with their significant other after bringing home that enormous beast of a playset.
Then, last week, it was the turn of the Thundercats franchise to get their own huge playset, with their vehicle, the ThunderTank, which makes the Thundercats Ultimate figures look like they are 3”3/4 scale next to it.
ToyFarce got the intel (probably a disgruntled employee, again) that for Super7, “This is only the beginning!”. They are now testing the waters, and after seeing that Snake Mountain was VERY popular, and that the early ReActions (pun absolutely intended) to the ThunderTank are that, albeit a bit on the expensive side, most Thundercats fan will definitely get it, the sky is now the limit for Super7, who has a lot of awesome franchises to play with, and their enormous playsets! Can you imagine all the vehicles for the Ultimates Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line, for example?
Here is some speculation of what may or may not come!
ALIEN’S USCSS NOSTROMO PLAYSET:
A Nostromo playset, scaled for the ReAction figures line would probably barely fit in our collection rooms, but that does not seem to have stopped Super7 before, and a lot of people would still buy it! Bring it on!
STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION USS ENTERPRISE NCC 1701-D
Even bigger, imagine a spaceship U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701-D that would scale with the freshly announced Star Trek: The Next Generation ReAction figures! We are at least getting for sure a bridge and/or transporter room playsets! Can’t wait!
DISNEY’S THE HAUNTED MANSION (THE ACTUAL MANSION!!)
Can you imagine, a replica of the mansion, with all the best parts of the ride included in it? The stretching elevator? Check. The doom buggies? CHECK. The ballroom with dancing ghosts? CHECK! (This is just wishful thinking, but damn, I want that, now…). I’d actually go for the Disney Land Paris version of the Haunted Mansion (or Phantom Manor), which, to me, looks creepier!
Also, Super7 just announced that they landed the classic Godzilla license for toys… Can you already see a Godzilla scaled to the ReAction figures? That thing would take all the space in your living room… and you couldn’t be happier about it!
One thing is for sure, collectors will need to make a lot of space for all the upcoming huge toys! Between the Super7 playsets and HasLab’s Unicron, the Sentinel and the Razor Crest, we are all collectively going to need bigger homes.

THE STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES FIGURE WE REALLY WANT!
Today is Hasbro’s “Fan First Friday: Star Wars”, the first Fan First Friday of 2021 and we are getting a ton of cool new announcements of figures we will desperately want and need! (Anything from The Mandalorian, anyone?)
TRUTHFUL NEWS:
THE STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES FIGURE WE REALLY WANT!
Today is Hasbro’s “Fan First Friday: Star Wars”, the first Fan First Friday of 2021 and we are getting a ton of cool new announcements of figures we will desperately want and need! (Anything from The Mandalorian, anyone?)
Yesterday, they already announced a few cool figures for Lucasfilm’s 50th anniversary, a Obi Wan Kenobi with a vinyl cape (just like old times!), a green Greedo (just like old times!), and a Jawa with a fabric robe (What? No “Jawa with vinyl cape” this time? Aaaw man!), complete with vintage looking packaging.
The rumours/leaks said we would be getting some Episode I: The Phantom Menace figures with the old-school red blisters like we had when the movie came out (My father was on TV to show them off, as he was one of the first person in Europe to get them, back then. True story! Humble brag!). And it turns out it was real!
But there is one figure that we all would love to see revisited, that was missing from the event, wasn’t there? A Black Series re-issue of the barrel-chested, hunky, muscular Luke Skywalker from Kenner’s Power of the Force line!! Imagine what could have been…
Do you remember him? Of course, you remember him! How can anybody forget THIS:
Look at his chest! SHINY!
The entire first wave of Kenner’s Power of the Force needs a Black Series re-issue, really.
Hunk Skywalker, Chewba-jacked, Han Swolo and Robust Leia
The figures were said to have a more “heroic” style, with larger muscles than the actual actors, but now, we do know why: I mean, look at his nephew! Oiling their muscular chest is clearly a family thing!
Well, we can always hope for another Fan First Friday: Star Wars for those to be announced!
More news at 11:00… May the SWOLE be with you!
