MCFARLANE TOYS DC MULTIVERSE YEAR 1, PART 1 (FIRST WAVE 1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY)!
It’s Wednesday. You know what that means… ToyFarce review!
About a year ago, give or take a few days, the first wave of McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse figures started to hit Walmarts all over the US. It was supposed to come out on either Jan 19th or Jan 24th,2020 but lots of stores ‘broke street date’ and had them out before, which caused panic and FOMO all over social media, with people paying way over double retail to secure the figures mere days before the actual release date (Yes, it was very silly. I wonder how the guy that paid $100 for a Batman who Laughs feels today).
It seems that figures from that wave are still popping up in stores to this day (a year later), because I’ve seen people post pictures of the Animated Series Superman figure, saying “SCORE! Did you guys know this one was coming out??” while it is a year old, so here’s a look at the full entire first wave (minus the Bat-Raptor vehicle, which I wasn’t interested in).
(Not on the pic: Comic book Superman and Unchained Superman)
When Todd McFarlane announced that he would be picking up the license for DC Comics at the ToyFair in 2019, I was very excited since I’ve always liked McFarlane Toys figures, and have been collecting DC Direct/Collectibles items for a long time. 11 months later, the first wave came out. This will be the first part of a 3-part review of the first year of the DC Multiverse line.
BATMAN (DETECTIVE COMICS 1000):
First off, the first Batman figure released by McFarlane Toys. At the time, we were all innocent and did not know there was going to be 20492 more coming after that. This figure had a pretty divisive reception, people either loved it or hated it. It still does have great articulations and is pretty nice for a basic Batman. My only issue with it is the squinted eyes, but it makes him look like taken from a Jae Lee design. Comes with a grappling gun and batarang.
Comparison with DC Direct/Collectibles Arkham Asylum, Hush, Designer Series Greg Capullo, Essentials and Icons Batman figures
Comparison with DC Collectibles Designer Series Jae Lee figure (see what I meant?)
SUPERMAN (ACTION COMICS):
Now this is a Superman figure! The sculpt, the face, everything is great with that one. It comes with a flight stand so you can display your Supes up, up and away. I haven’t seen a single complaint about this one, and I understand why. A solid Superman.
Comparison with DC Direct/Collectibles Infinite Crisis, Designer Series Greg Capullo, Essentials and Batman: Hush Superman figures
HARLEY QUINN (CLASSIC):
Now that one left me a bit puzzled. She is supposed to look like the comic book version, but looks more like the animated series version at the same time. The facial expression and paint is very simple compared to the other figures, and I do not know why. This is the weakest one from that first wave for me. Also, she’s the same size as all the other figures, which a lot of people hated about her, calling her “Giant Harley”. The accessories are nice (mallet, gun with a “bang” flag), the articulation is great, but that face…
Comparison with DC Direct/Collectibles Essentials, Animated Series, Icons, Hush and Kotobukiya Animated Series Harley Quinn figures
GREEN ARROW (TV SERIES):
That TV show was great for about 3 seasons, and then went downhill until it ended. Stephen Amell did do an amazing job in the show, though. I had the DC Collectibles figures from the Arrow series, so I was curious to see what the McFarlane version would bring to the table: a bit more articulations (double elbows and knees). The jacket is made of a soft rubber, which restricts the posing a bit, but it still looks pretty good. The textures of the costume are very nice. The likeness? Close enough… Comes with a quiver filled with arrows, and a bow (that looks kinda crappy).
“You have failed this city!”
Comparison with DC Collectibles Arrow figures season 1 (x2), Flash/Arrow two-pack and season 3 Green Arrow figures
BATMAN (ANIMATED SERIES):
Now that one got a lot of people confused and angry. To my understanding, it is a Batman, as he would look in the Animated Series if designed by McFarlane Toys. It’s an interpretation of the design from the Batman from the Animated series from Todd McFarlane/the team at McFarlane Toys. People got so mad that it didn’t look EXACTLY like the designs from Bruce Timm (like we didn’t already get half a dozen of perfectly accurate figures from DC Collectibles in the last decade…). They gave it their own spin, and I am fine with that. It’s a great figure (and I’m tired to pretend it’s not, Murray!). Great range of articulation too! Comes with a pair of extra hands, grappling gun and batarang.
Comparison with the DC Collectibles Animated Series, New Adventures of Batman and Justice League Batman figures
SUPERMAN (ANIMATED SERIES):
That Superman goes on par with the Batman, it’s once again a “stylized” version of the Animated series design by McFarlane Toys. Same as Batman, great range of articulation. The only nitpick would be that it didn’t come with a flight stand like the other Superman, which would have been great. He comes with a couple of extra hands and a piece of bent steel.
The paint on the face is a tad too shiny compared to the neck…
Comparison with DC Collectibles Animated Series and Justice League Superman figures
(yeah, Superman hasn’t really been gifted when it comes to Animated series figures…)
GREEN LANTERN (JOHN STEWART - ANIMATED SERIES):
Another stylized Animated series figure with a ‘modern’ John Stewart. The figure comes with great accessories (constructs made of green lantern solid light, I mean!). Once again, a flight stand would have been amazing, but I’m fine with it that way too. Those 3 animated figures are very decent and quite big.
Comparison with DC Collectibles Justice League John Stewart figure (Ouch… And I thought the Superman looked bad…)
BATMAN (HELLBAT SUIT):
Now for the big boys! To quote Todd McFarlane: “That’s a lot of plastic!”. A great big figure, with huge wings that can be folded. This is the first time the Hellbat Suite was made into a figure, and it looks amazing. The shiny paint job on parts of the armor looks ridiculously good. More of that, please!
Comparison with various Armored Batman figures: DC Collectibles GCPD Batman, Mezco BVS Armored Batman, and DC Collectibles Thrasher suit Batman figures
SUPERMAN (UNCHAINED):
Another big boy with the Unchained Superman from the comic book of the same name. Jim Lee’s design was already amazing in the comic book, and the figure looks like it just came right out of it. It has a pair of wings that can be folded to look like a cape, or open. A beautiful piece of toy-engineering. (No comparison shots, due to lack of other armored Superman).
THE BATMAN WHO LAUGHS (BUILD-A-BATMOBILE):
The following 3 figures came with a piece of a Batmobile, à la “Build-a-figure” from other toy lines (this one comes with the left side of the car). The Batman who Laughs is the only brand new character from that wave (in the sense that there had never been any other action figure version of him before this one came out), and what can I say: McFarlane Toys sure know how to do creepy! It looks just like the Greg Capullo designs from the Dark Night: Metal comic books, and comes with a big knife and a scythe. What else?
BATGIRL (BUILD-A-BATMOBILE):
A very nice figure of ol’Barbara Gordon, coming with the right side of the Build-a-Batmobile. One of the best figures from that wave, with decent articulation allowing great poses. We need more Batgirl figures. She comes with a grappling gun and a batarang.
Comparison with DC Collectibles Essentials and Designer Series Greg Capullo Batgirl figures
NIGHTWING (BUILD-A-BATMOBILE):
Last but not least, Nightwing, aka Dick Grayson, formerly known as the boy wonder, Robin, coming with the center part of the Build-a-Batmobile. A very nice sculpt on this Nightwing (maybe a bit too emo-ish on the expression). A highly articulated Nightwing (double elbows, knees, all the works…) was long overdue. He comes with his Escrima sticks.
(Slightly blurry) comparison with DC Direct/Collectibles Hush, Essentials and Designer Series Greg Capullo Nightwing figures
BUILD-A-BATMOBILE:
Here’s the Build-a-Batmobile, when you combine the 3 parts from The Batman Who Laughs, Batgirl and Nightwing. I really like the design they chose for this Batmobile. I really hope there will be a few more in the future, even though it seems they have favored Build-a-figures rather than vehicles in the waves after that.
For a first wave, it was a very satisfying wave that the folks at McFarlane Toys gave us (not that I had any doubt about it, since I’ve been buying their product since the very first Spawn figure nearly 25 years ago). Little did we know that new figures would be announced every couple of weeks and be released soon after that, totalling in 49 figures released in 2020 alone (with already 35+ announced for the first half of 2021…yikes).
The McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Year 1, Part 2 review should drop very soon (I am unsure yet if I want to drag this over 3 weeks, so I might release them at different times, as ‘bonus reviews’). Part 2 will most likely deal with the waves up to the Dark Nights: Metal wave.
More news at 11:00… That’s a lot of plastic!

BREAKING NEWS:
THE UNDERTAKER SHOOTS ON MATTEL WWE FIGURES!
Last week, WWE Legend The Undertaker (Mark Calaway) was the guest of Joe Rogan’s podcast on Spotify. During that interview, he said many things that ended up doing the headlines of all wrestling/sports websites, including :
-About WWE: “The product has changed so much, now it’s kinda soft. I'll probably piss a lot of people off, but they need to hear it. I just think the product is a little soft. There's guys here and there that have an edge to them, but there's too much pretty, not enough substance right now”.
-About old times: “In that era of guys, too, those were men, you walk into a dressing room nowadays and it's a lot different. I remember walking into my first real dressing room, and all I saw were some crusty fucking men, half of them had guns and knives in their bags. Shit just got handled back then. Now, you walk in and there's guys playing video games and fucking making sure they look pretty”.
It’s like the Phenom made that interview with the only purpose to make friends!
ToyFarce heard that in the full unedited version of the interview, the Deadman also had some words about Mattel and WWE action figures!
“Have you seen the latest figures of me? The jacket is too rigid! It’s made of hard plastic, so kids or collectors can’t pose me at all when wearing the jacket. I have to have that awkward pose where i stand up with my shoulders up and my arms a feet away from my hips… And it’s not only me, Edge got that too! And when they do the soft fabric ones? It looks like I’m wearing a bathrobe…”
“Gee, Undertaker, why don’t you tell us what’s bothering you, huh?”
ToyFarce admits that the Phenom has a point. Those jackets are nice but never perfect. The hard rigid ones are just annoying to remove/put back, and the default pose with them is indeed awkward.
“Back in the days, you had the “Bone-Crunching Action” figures from Jakks Pacific. Man, those were real toys! Back then, a kid could hurt himself with the figures, like pinch his fingers or something. Nowadays, everything is too damn safe."

SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN! ASKING EVERYDAY “HAS ANYONE RECEIVED THEIR TOY YET?” MAKES IT ARRIVE FASTER!!
If your feed has been looking like that for a few weeks, do not adjust your monitor, it’s completely normal!
SCIENTIFIC NEWS:
SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN: ASKING EVERYDAY “HAS ANYONE RECEIVED THEIR TOY YET?” MAKES IT ARRIVE FASTER!!
If your feed has been looking like that for a few weeks, do not adjust your monitor, it’s completely normal!
There are lots of people that ordered toys (for example, that Kickstarter Spawn) that are very excited and are getting so impatient that they feel the need to ask very often if other people have received theirs. Nobody really knows why, considering that if other people have indeed received theirs, their situation would not miraculously change, and they would still not have received their own. Some say it makes them feel better if other people got theirs, because they could be next in line (that never happened). But could asking “Has anyone received theirs?” often actually make your toy arrive faster?
A team of scientist from Wyoming got a very generous funding in order to start a research on that phenomenon, and their results will surprise you! Professor Kent Waite was interviewed by ToyFarce: “There is a correlation between asking that same question all the time, and the toys actually arriving faster. There is a lot of mathematics involved but we won’t go into that…” he said. “With my colleague, Professor Ian Michael Patient (aka Professor I.M.Patient), we are using Einstein’s theory of relativity, proving that the rate at which time passes depends on your frame of reference, and when you spend your entire days bitchi…I mean, asking about your toy, time flows differently for you, and when you get your figure, it feels that less time has passed!”
You heard him, folks! So keep asking about your Kickstarter Spawn, or the tracking info about it! It will definitely make it arrive faster!
More news at 11:00…but seriously, has anyone received their tracking for their Kickstarter Spawn yet?

REVIEW: BOSS FIGHT STUDIO’S SAM & MAX!
This week we’re taking a look at the long awaited Sam & Max figures from Boss Fight Studio!
TOYFARCE REVIEWS:
BOSS FIGHT STUDIO’S SAM & MAX!
It’s Wednesday. You know what that means… ToyFarce review!
This week we’re taking a look at the long awaited Sam & Max figures from Boss Fight Studio. I discovered Sam & Max through the PC video game ‘Sam & Max Hit The Road’, from LucasArts, when I was young thanks to a friend (merci, Vincent!). The point-and-click adventure game told the story of Sam, a dog, and Max, a… rabbity-thing, who solve crimes, while having the most funny and non-sensical conversations. Sam & Max were created by Steve Purcell, and were first a comic book (1987) before being in a video game, so I had to catch up on that too. There was also an animated series of 24 episodes in the late 90’s. Later on, I played all the TellTale episodic video games, which still kept the spirit of the old game on newer consoles.
Needless to say, when those figures were first shown at the ToyFare in 2019, my wallet was ready. The orders opened in June 2019, and a year and a half later, they are finally here!
The warning at the top says “This is not a toy!”. Well… I am definitely going to play with them anyway!
Free comic strip on the back of the packaging, new art from Steve Purcell!
Sam comes with 2 alternative heads (angry and closed mouth), 2 alternative pairs of hands, a gun, a “non-brand specific frozen treat”, his gun and a paper bag puppet.
Max comes with 2 alternative hands (mouth closed and smile), 3 alternative pairs of hands, a rotary-dial phone, his gun, a hammer and a rat (one of his nemesis).
“Hi! We’re Sam & Max, Freelance Police!”
“Here is my clutter. Max, show your clutter!”
“Ok. Here is mine, Sam.”
“Is it really the moment to take a close-up photo? We have criminals to arrest!”
“I always liked to take selfies, Sam. I am very shallow. Look at my teeth! Pointyyy…”
“So what were we supposed to do, today?”
Both: “THE PHONE!!!”
“I GOT IT! I GOT IT! MINE! MINE!”
“I know what you did! I will remain silent as long as you keep sending the money. Ok? Alright. Sure. Love you too, mum!”
“Hey Max, doesn’t it look just like you? - I’m a little busy, Sam…”
“Revenge is MINE!”
“Wait a second, I hear some criminal activity in the vicinity! Let’s go investigate!”
“But now without firepower!”
Those figures are surprisingly well articulated (14 points of articulation for Sam, 11 points for Max) and allow for great poses. Sam’s jacket and tie are made of a softer plastic which can move with the figure. Changing heads and hands is a bit difficult, but using the ol’ “hot water/hair dryer” trick helps. Max is such a tiny figure, with tiny arms and articulations that it’s a bit scary when you pull his hands or head to change them, but it still held up. They’re pretty solid figures.
“So you guys are like the “real” Police? Why not go Freelance, like us?”
“Oh my god, Sam, have you seen the size of their guns? - Yes, Max. Some people have smaller guns. That is what big trucks are for.”
“Should we go fight crime together, as a band? How would you name the band, Max? - D.O.A!”
“You crack me up, little buddy!”
Great figures from Boss Fight Studio. It said “wave 1” on their website, so I hope to see more of those someday (I will not hold my breath, though…). I should be getting the Legends of Lucha Pentagon and Fenix from Boss Fight Studio, as soon as they are not delayed anymore, so I can’t wait to see those, considering the quality of those Sam & Max figures. After receiving the figures, and googling a little, it turns out there is a new game coming out very soon, a VR-game called “Sam & Max: This time, it’s Virtual”. I am really happy to know that they’re still around!

UPDATE: EVEN MORE MCFARLANE TOYS DC MULTIVERSE LEAKS?!
Since last week’s article caught fire, ToyFarce felt that we needed to share that update with you right away. It could also be a lesson about always checking the source…
BREAKING NEWS:
UPDATE: EVEN MORE MCFARLANE TOYS DC MULTIVERSE LEAKS?!
Once again, ToyFarce got the scoop before anyone else (Sorry again The Voice of reason / @pzahui). Another store in Malaysia (it’s always Malaysia) sent us the ultimate proof (a photography of a computer screen!) about the line-up of the future waves of McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse action figures, and it’s even more surprising than the “Batman Forever”/”Batman & Robin”-Schumacher-verse waves!
There will first be a wave of DC Multiverse figures that will include Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Captain America!
After that, the DC Multiverse line will dive into the Star Wars side of DC Comics, with Darth Vader and Boba Fett figures! We can’t wait to see what Todd McFarlane has in mind for those!!
Then, there should be a new wave that will include Ronald McDonald, the Hamburglar and Grimace! They should come with various items from the McDonalds menu as accessories!
Finally, the last DC Multiverse leaked wave will be all about Sesame Street, with a 7inch action figure of Elmo, Big Bird and the Cookie Monster. There should be a build-a-figure Mr. Snuffleupagus (or ‘Snuffy’), but it hasn’t been confirmed yet!
Since last week’s article caught fire, ToyFarce felt that we needed to share that update with you right away. It could also be a lesson about always checking the source, but we are sure that everybody did, and read the article anyway, RIGHT?
We will let you know when we get more updates from Malaysia!

BREAKING: MORE MCFARLANE TOYS DC MULTIVERSE LEAKS?!
For once, ToyFarce managed to get a scoop before The Voice of Reason (sorry Patrick @pzahui!) about McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse future products!
BREAKING NEWS:
MORE MCFARLANE TOYS DC MULTIVERSE LEAKS?!
For once, ToyFarce managed to get a scoop before The Voice of Reason (sorry Patrick @pzahui!) about McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse future products!
After the leaks about the Snyder’s Justice League movie figures a few days ago, a collectibles store in Malaysia (Have you noticed that it’s always some stores in Malaysia that leak those?) sent ToyFarce the scoop about the upcoming waves, and it is surprising, to say the least! As usual, no pictures yet, but you can bet that the Toddfather will make a live video about it very soon! (What’s up with the toothbrush?)
There will be a wave of 4 figures from the classic “Batman Forever” movie: Batman, Robin, Two-face and the Riddler. The figures are expected to be 7-inch and will feature all your favorite things about McFarlane Toys figures (articulations, ab-crunch, etc…).
It’s great to see high-quality figures from what Jonathan Ross called “One of the greatest movies ever made”!
The following wave will be “Batman and Robin”-themed and will have 5 figures + a build-a-figure Bane, each separate figures coming with different parts in order to build the figure (you know the drill…). Batman will come with Bane’s head, Robin with Bane’s arms, Batgirl with Bane’s torso, Poison Ivy with Bane’s hands, and Mr Freeze with Bane’s legs.
We can already hear the excitement from all Batman collectors and DC Multiverse collectors (which are basically the same thing!).

REVIEW: JAZWARES’ AEW UNRIVALED SERIES 3!

TOYFARCE REVIEWS:
JAZWARES’ AEW UNRIVALED SERIES 3!
It’s Wednesday. You know what that means… ToyFarce Reviews!
Another great mail day, with Fedex bringing me the AEW Unrivaled Series 3, coming straight from Ringside Collectibles only a few hours ago. Pictures were taken right after opening the package! (What wouldn’t I do for the 2 people that will read that?). Let’s check them out!
Series 2, meet Series 3!
“So… is that supposed to be us, again?”
“Yeah… I don’t look too bad!”
“Well… Lucky you!”
First off, the new Young Bucks, with their ‘Golden Elite’ attire (which rules!). Nick’s likeness is pretty good, but Matt’s headsculpt is… close enough? I understand it’s trickier to do a screaming expression, but there’s something off with it. I personaly prefered the one from the first wave. Anyway… Be careful with the fabric part of the Bucks’ pants: There is glitter on it! It’s all over my hands and t-shirt. And the ring. And the floor.
*THE - ELITE - THE - THE - ELITE!*
Great details on the jackets, which unfortunately cannot be removed (or it would be a mega-pain in the ass to put back on).
“SUPERDERP PARTYYYYYYYYYYY!”
“What have they done to us?”
“The Bastard” PAC looks pretty good, even if his headsculpt kinda looked like the Hellboy reboot main character at first. He comes with 2 headsculpts (normal hair, and hair all over the face) and a (plastic) steel chair.
“OUTTA MY HEAD…”
“YOU’RE OUT OF TIME!”
Darby Allin is a great figure for a wrestler that had never been made into an action figure before. He comes with a skateboard, the jacked is removable, and the details on all the tattoos are spot on!
*Guitar strumming* "I don't sleep 'cause my head's on fire”
“I FELL…”
Another first time figure for the first AEW Women’s champion, Riho! (It’s actually been a while since we have seen her on TV, because of the Covid situation…). She comes with 3 alternative hands, and the Women’s Championship belt.
“From Shinagawa, Japan, the AEW Women’s Champion…”
“RIIIIIIIIIIIHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
Last but not least, another first action figure for the hugely popular Orange Cassidy, ‘the king of Sloth style’. He comes with 3 alternative hands, his jacket and t-shirt are soft-goods (it’s one piece, the tshirt is actually just the front with velcro on one side! Ingenious!) and the top part of his pants is a rubber piece, which allows him to put his hands in his pocket. This is a great, great design feature. I’m only worried about the durability, and how it will look like in 5-10 years, but for now, it’s awesome. Amazing job, Jazwares!
“Can we at least get a pose, Orange?”
“Well… close enough.”
And now, it’s time for wrestling pics!
Jericho: “Don’t do it, Cassidy!! Don’t you dare put your hands in your pocket!!!”
*Crowd cheers intensely AF*
“Off the top rope!”
“SUPERMAN PUNCH!”
“Here is the rematch we were looking forward to, The Young Bucks vs the Lucha Brothers, part deux!”
“SUPERKIIIICK!”
“Setting Fenix up for their signature move…”
“ THE MELTZER DRIVER!”
Series 3 vs Series 1 Nick Jackson
Series 3 vs Series 1 Matt Jackson
“TRIANGULA DE LA MUERTE!” Death Triangle, finally reunited!
“BLACK ARROW!”
“MJF is gonna have to eat through a straw after that…”
Finally, another female wrestler figure, so that Brandy doesn’t feel too lonely…
“Double stomp!” (Sorry, Bran-bran…)
“RUNNING DOUBLE KNEE STRIKE!”
“Riho was the first AEW Woman champion and held the title for 133 days.”
“Kenny Omega and Riho have a long history of teaming together.”
“Darby Allin coming to the ring on his skateboard, which can also be used as a weapon.”
“COFFIN DROP!”
"That’s it, he’s got him! 1-2-3!”
AEW Unrivaled Series 3 is a decent wave from Jazwares, with 3 ‘first-time ever’ figures, along with another pair of Young Bucks and PAC (which had already been made before as an action figure by Matten when he was in WWE). It’s great to see new characters in toy form, and I cannot wait for more. Series 4 has not been shown yet, only a ‘Sammy Guevara, the Spanish God’ figure was announced by Jeremy Padawer. Crossing fingers for a Santana and Ortiz, along with other first time figures for other characters (Jurassic Express, pretty please!!). Also, a Brodie Lee figure would be a nice tribute to him.

TOY FAIR 2021 CANCELLED! THIS YEAR WOULD HAVE 100% FOCUSED ON INFLATABLE TOYS!
Due to the coronavirus situation, it has now been officially announced that there will not be a Toy Fair in 2021…
BREAKING NEWS:
TOY FAIR 2021 CANCELLED! THIS YEAR WOULD HAVE 100% FOCUSED ON INFLATABLE TOYS!
Last year, ToyFarce reported that there were plans for the Toy Fair to focus only on wooden toys that year. Unfortunately, it seems that the big companies like Hasbro, Mattel, Lego, etc… made those plans change at the last minute.
See last year’s article: https://www.toyfarce.com/news//2020/02/toy-fair-2020-to-focus-only-on-wooden.html
Due to the coronavirus situation, it has now been officially announced that there will not be a Toy Fair in 2021. It is a shame because ToyFarce found some info about the theme of this year’s Toy Fair: THIS YEAR’S TOY FAIR WAS GOING TO BE 100% ABOUT INFLATABLE TOYS!
Swimming pool floats, bouncy castles, you name it! This year would have been all about those great, fun outdoor toys that needs to have air blown into them.
It would have been fun, wouldn’t it?
“MOTHER! FREE US FROM OUR SUFFERING!”
"We had decided to do something special this year, and move on from exciting action figures, amazing detailed toys and great playability to have a Toy Fair that would be 100% focus on inflatable toys." said a representative from the Toy Association. "We feel like this is what the collectors really want. We were expecting to break the record of attendance this year, with such a bold move. Unfortunately, it is all cancelled. We’ll try to come up with even more exciting plans for next year!".

“ANOTHER COLLECTOR GOT THAT TOY BEFORE ME AND NOW, MY DAY IS RUINED!”
We have all seen those posts. Multiple times a week, in fact. It seems that a lot of collectors feel entitled that they should get toys before others, because they pre-ordered an item and have a wonderful personality…
COLLECTOR NEWS:
“ANOTHER COLLECTOR GOT THAT TOY BEFORE ME AND NOW, MY DAY IS RUINED!”
“How is that fair that *I* pre-ordered this DAY ONE, and *I* still haven’t gotten it, while other people are finding it in store?”
“From now on, I will boycott that brand! How dare they?”
“THIS IS LITERALLY THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!”
We have all seen those posts. Multiple times a week, in fact. It seems that a lot of collectors feel entitled that they should get toys before others, because they pre-ordered an item and have a wonderful personality.
There are several reasons why someone would get a product before someone else: Location, quality of the post service, plain luck, etc… Yet, some collectors still don’t seem to grasp the concept that pre-order does not mean “guaranteed to get it first”...
Of course, ToyFarce completely understands being excited and impatient. We are also waiting for our NECA Tokka and Rahzar two-pack, and our Kickstarter Spawn figures. But just like everybody else, we just have to be patient.
In the example of the Kickstarter Spawn: “Yeah, but some people in Hong Kong and China are starting to get them, and I have to wait weeks before I get mine because it’s on a boat!”… So what? What is wrong with waiting? Is it the fear of being less validated and getting less “likes” because other people will have posted pictures before yours arrived? No need to worry about that, most people will have blocked you by the time you receive yours because of the constant complaining anyway ^^
Here is a lesson about patience, self-control and delayed gratification brought to you by Loki himself, Tom Hiddleston, and the Cookie Monster:
We hope that this will help!

REVIEW: MAFEX BATMAN HUSH

TOYFARCE REVIEWS:
MAFEX BATMAN HUSH!
It's Wednesday. You know what that means.
With the MAFEX Batman HUSH - Superman coming out this month, and seeing that the Batman popped up in a lot of people’s Top 10 list of 2020, ToyFarce decided to revisit that glorious figure.
First of all, I am a huge fan of the HUSH storyline, have always been a huge fan of Jim Lee’s art, and his Batman is easily in my top 3 favorite versions of the character. The blue and grey costume, the short ears, I couldn’t get enough of it, and for a long time, the DC Direct version of this Batman was one of my favorite Batman figures. Its presence, its subtle pose…he’s been an important part of collection for nearly 15 years (the DC Direct Hush line was released in 2004. Ouch.).
When MAFEX announced their Batman HUSH line, I couldn’t have been happier. This was pre-ordered on day one on Amiami, and I got it a few days after it came out back in July 2020.
As is tradition with MAFEX (and no, I don’t mean that it was delayed…), the figure is highly articulated, and comes with tons of accessories: 6 pairs of alternative hands, 2 alternative headsculpts, batarangs, grappling gun hook and line, etc…
Right out of the box, I could already tell it was a great figure. Even in ‘museum pose’, that figure looks pretty great. Sure, it’s not perfect, but it looks damn good. The cape is a bit of a pain in the ass, at least for me, with the wires inside, but they allow for great poses.
But let’s be honest, you don’t buy MAFEX figures to leave them in ‘museum pose’, that would be a damn shame! This thing is ridiculously posable, so let’s pose that bad (bat?) boy!
You, running to check the latest ToyFarce article
“Dammit, I forgot to pick up milk for Alfred!”
It’s like this figure came right out of the comic book. You can recreate many of the poses directly from it, without any issue.
“Don’t be so sure.” *VZIP*
*Brooding intensifies…*
“Sometimes, I wish I had adamantium claws…”
Wait a minute… Bruce Wayne is Batman?!
Even the Bruce Wayne headsculpt is amazing. I don’t know how many people will use it for their display, I do prefer my Batmen to be masked, but it’s still an amazing sculpt.
“You’re the new version of me? Fine.”
QUEUE BATMAN THEME SONG
MAFEX has already announced a Superman, a Catwoman, and the villain HUSH himself which will be released this year (unless they get all delayed to 2022…). I will definitely pick them up, so keep checking ToyFarce if you want to see their reviews.
There is also a Black and grey version of this Batman that just came out, which I think I will skip, but it has the Gargoyle stand, to recreate that amazing Jim Lee art picture of Batman standing on his gargoyle, so I might need it… Damn you, MAFEX.
