BREAKING NEWS:
TARGET REVEALED AS PART OF COBRA! HUNT FOR G.I.JOE CLASSIFIED SERIES FIGURES DIFFICULT ON PURPOSE!
New year, new Target G.I.Joe Classified series figures release fiasco! Once again, Target dropped the ball, as hundreds (if not thousands) of collectors reported their frustrations about not being able to find the newly-released figures in their stores.
On January,1st, 2 new Target exclusive G.I.Joe Classified Series figures were scheduled to be released: Cobra Viper and Firefly.
Collectors from all around the United States gathered in front of their Target stores right before opening…and that is where the horror stories began…
Some were successful…
'“Score!”
While most were not, as can be seen in the many reports posted by Total Toy Recon ( @totaltoyrecon ), a dear friend of ToyFarce:
Some even had such a bad experience that it killed their passion for it, as we can see in that email sent to Hasbro’s customer service…
(ToyFarce sincerely hope that it was an overreaction, while being angry, and that someone who has been collecting for 40+ years wouldn’t drop their collection only because of the behavior of a pathetic loser ass-hat who doesn’t seem to have social boundaries).
ToyFarce and Total Toy Recon went deep undercover to reveal this SHOCKING scoop: TARGET IS AN ALLY OF COBRA!
Instagram user Marauder Ruben ( @marauder.ruben ) was one of the first to give us clues about it, when he revealed to us the new uniform of the Target employees:
Knowing that (and knowing is half the battle, right?), it all makes sense now why the G.I.Joe Classified Series figures are so hard to find! Cobra told Target to hide the Classified Series figures from their customers, so that collectors would become frustrated and start to resent, and hate G.I.Joe, while at the same time turning a profit, by selling the figures at unreasonable prices, in order to fund the organization’s activities!
The last time we heard from Total Toy Recon, he was planning to infiltrate one of the organization’s quarterly info-session!
We’ve heard that Total Toy Recon successfully managed to obtain a secret recording of what was said during the conference. Stay tuned!
Follow @totaltoyrecon and @marauder.ruben for more (and @toyfarce, while you are there!).

2020: A YEAR IN REVIEW!
2020 was a rough year for a lot of us, there is no doubt about that, but actually, the toy industry ended up having a fantastic year! Lots of awesome toys were released, we had some awesome events. ToyFarce picked up a few points that made 2020…so 2020!
RETROSPECTIVE NEWS:
2020: A YEAR IN REVIEW!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYBODY! 2020 is over! All hail 2021! (If aliens invade earth, or Skynet takes over, someone please screenshot that first sentence as a “Well, that didn’t age well…” meme).
2020 was a rough year for a lot of us, there is no doubt about that, but actually, the toy industry ended up having a fantastic year! Lots of awesome toys were released, we had some awesome events (ToyFare, Hasbro Pulsecon, tons of virtual events… ToyFarce finally got to attend SDCC this year!!). ToyFarce picked up a few points that made 2020…so 2020!
THE RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF MCFARLANE TOYS FIGURES
In January 2020, McFarlane Toys released the first wave of their newly acquired ‘DC Multiverse’ line. Now, 12 months later, we have…
49 figures. FORTY-NINE FIGURES! That includes the nice (albeit unnecessary) blue, bronze or gold repaints, and a vehicle. What other brand has ever done 49 figures on their first year? We got 12 AEW Unrivaled figures from Jazwares, we got 18 figures from Hasbro’s G.I.Joe Classified Series. Even the established lines like Hasbro’s Marvel Legends or the Mattel’s WWE line didn’t make that much figures in their early years (and do about that amount nowadays). Meanwhile, Todd McFarlane said “Hold my beer…” and released 49 figures from one single line in one year (and there’s already dozens of DC Multiverse announced for 2021). While still releasing figures from other lines, like Mortal Kombat, Anime (My Hero Academia,…) and other figures during that year, including the Kickstarter exclusive Classic Spawn, which brings us to…
THE RISE OF THE CROWDFUNDING
Crowdfunding was certainly very popular this year. Not that it wasn’t before that, there were already some awesome toys to back on Kickstarter in the past, along with Haslab’s Jabba’s Sail Barge and Transformers Unicron, but this year is when it went big. Between the HasLab Marvel Legends Sentinel, the Star Wars Vintage Collection Razor Crest, and the McFarlane Toys Kickstarter Classic Spawn, collectors spent a lot of money in crowdfunding in 2020. There were also tons of smaller scale projects that were successfully funded as well. Todd McFarlane has already mentioned that there will be more to come from his side (teasing a Medieval Spawn, when we really wanted Tremor - self-reference to a previous article!), and we all know Hasbro is going to come up with more awesome ideas for us to throw money at. And that’s only for things that won’t be found at the store…
THE COMPLETE CHAOS OF DISTRIBUTION
This year, more than ever, was a very bad year for distribution of toys. With more and more Walmart Exclusives, Target Exclusives, and the disappearance of a certain beloved toy store (We miss you, Geoffrey the Giraffe!) that could distribute those better, some toys were really hard to find this year, from a distribution perspective alone. Some states (and countries) just didn’t get some lines at all. There are people that still have never seen a NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figure, a G.I.Joe Classified series figure or an AEW Unrivaled series 1 figure from Jazwares in the wild. Some states got them, some didn’t. Someone in Maine will say “The Target next to my house had more than 12 of that *insert figure* left!” while someone in Texas will say “I have never seen a single one, and I checked all the stores in my area, driving 6h”. There is clearly an issue with distribution. And we’re only talking about distribution here… There’s another issue related to that…
REVENGE OF THE SCALPERS:
This year has been particularly lucrative for the members of the S.C.A.L.P. When it’s not a distribution issue, you can bet that it’s that other kind of issues. Some people just can’t stop themselves, and would even go to say that they’re doing the right thing, “helping up fellow collectors”, by buying the entire stock and reselling it with a huge mark-up, instead of just letting other collectors finding them themselves. Then, you add the “Time and Energy” tax (woohoo! Another self-reference to a previous article!), and somehow, the price is now double, sometimes triple. This year’s hot items were: Anything Neca TMNT-related (with the Casey Jones/Undercover Raph two-pack being one of the first to really blow up this year), the GI Joe Classified series, or any line of figures that came out in some places a few weeks before it came out in others… Some people bought Marvel Legends, DC Multiverse, WWE Elite or AEW Unrivaled series 2 figures for over $300 from a scalper, only to find them in their own supermarkets at retail a couple of month later. Remember the Marvel Legends Red Hulk? ToyFarce remembers… If people had just waited a little bit, instead of FOMO’ing… oh well.
Talking about waiting:
CORONAVIRUS, AND THE EVER-LASTING DELAYS…
The coronavirus was, of course, the major thing to blame for 2020. Tons of events were canceled worldwide, entire countries were on lockdown, and everything was delayed… Oh boy. The delays. We were hit pretty hard by those, weren’t we? And then everything came out, all at once!! Most of the toys that were supposed to come out between march and october WERE ALL RELEASED at the same time in october/november. Now, there are still some toys that were supposed to come out already that have yet to be released… Like the entire MAFEX catalog, apart from 2 or 3. Hey, Miles Morales from ‘Into the Spiderverse’ just came out, with only 6 months of delay! It seems like we’re going to have to be a bit more patient, as things will continue to be delayed for a while, until the Coronavirus situation gets under control, so we invite you to check out our article about patience from a few weeks ago > https://www.toyfarce.com/news/what-to-do-when-a-toyfarce-psa
In the meantime, while we didn’t get new new toys, we certainly did get new old toys!
WHAT’S OLD IS NEW…AGAIN!
Several brands have been surfing the ‘Retro’ wave for the last few years, but Hasbro became the king of retro in 2020. With several figures from the Marvel Legends wave using the ‘retro’ Toy Biz packaging, the Real Ghostbusters line, that looks just like the one we had when we were kids, the G.I.Joe retro line, and the Star Wars Vintage Collection (which was already ongoing), if you want to re-live your childhood by getting figures that have the same packaging as back then, Hasbro has got your back! Also, can we really call the early 90’s “Retro”?? Are we that old already? Damn…
ToyFarce would like to thank the 3 people that will read the entire thing (Hi, Erik, how you doin’?) and wish you all a glorious 2021!

REVIEW: NECA TOONY TERRORS SERIES 3 + CHUCKY AND HIS BRIDE!
With the Toony Terrors series 4 wave starting to pop up in some shops, it was time to review series 3 (which Santa Claus brought me this year, thank you Santa!). Series 3 had Nosferatu from the movie “Nosferatu”, The Nun from the movie…”The Nun” and Ash from the Evil Dead movie franchise.
TOYFARCE REVIEWS:
NECA TOONY TERRORS SERIES 3 + CHUCKY AND HIS BRIDE!
Series 2… meet Series 3!
Wait a minute…
…
“Something’s fucky.”
Yay! My first misprint! I feel so special! Either that or Nosferatu had a sex change and has become a nun…
Anyway… let’s open them!
Ash comes with his trusted “boomstick”, that can be held in his hand, or on his back. He also comes with his chainsaw hand, which he seems very proud to show off…
“Have you seen my chainsaw hand? Look at it!”
The Nun is stuck in a running pose, which kinda makes her look “Scooby-doo”-esque. I can hear the cartoon running sound when i look at her (what did they make that sound with, anyway?)
She has a very detailed paint job and looks just as creepy as in the movie.
“You failed. Just as you have failed everyone in your life.”
Nosferatu (or Petyr, from “What We Do In The Shadows”) has the most articulations of that wave, with articulations on his arms, elbows and wrists. He comes with a pet rat.
“Hi…”
*classic pose intensifies*
Series 3 only had 3 figures, but there was also a ‘special’ set that came out, a two-pack of Chucky and Tiffany, from “The Bride of Chucky”.
Not sure why this one came out on his own, rather than being part of Series 2 or 3, but there it is!
The 2 figures are quite small, so it make sense they came out as a two-pack. Chucky comes with a knife (that can be removed), and Tiffany comes with a cigarette in her hand (that cannot be removed).
“Barbie, eat your heart out!”
This is also the first actual couple in the NECA Toony Terrors line!
“I wouldn't marry you if you had the body of G.I. Joe!”
“Hey, Raggedy Anne, you looked in the mirror lately? Now's not the time to get picky!”
Well, “couple” might be a strong word…
That’s it! That was the last review of 2020! ToyFarce would like to thank you all for all the support in 2020, and we’ll try to bring you more reviews in 2021!

TOYFARCE’S TOP 10 FUNNIEST AND WEIRDEST TOYS OF 2020!
Since everybody seems to be doing a Top 10 of the best figures of 2020, we figured ToyFarce should do one for the all the funny/weird/silly figures of this year, so here goes!
YEAR END NEWS:
TOYFARCE’S TOP 10 FUNNIEST AND WEIRDEST TOYS OF 2020!
We did it, guys! This is the last week of 2020! We have managed to survive 2020!
Since everybody seems to be doing a Top 10 of the best figures of 2020, we figured ToyFarce should do one for the all the funny/weird/silly figures of this year, so here goes! (We focused on US brands, and stayed away from Japanese toys for that list, otherwise, it would have probably been 10 Japanese products ^^)
10. BOSS FIGHT STUDIO’S SAM & MAX
Sam & Max, Freelance Police!
Sam & Max are characters from a comic book, a video game franchise, and an animated series, that parodies the crime-detective genre and American pop-culture. Finally getting action figures of the duo is amazing, thank you Boss Fight Studio, and we can’t wait to get our hands on those (unfortunately, like most items in this list, they were still in transit at time of writing, so we’ll have to wait to post our own pics and review).
9. JAZWARE’S “A LITTLE BIT OF THE BUBBLY” CHRIS JERICHO
Ooooh… A little bit of the Bubbly!
After winning the AEW World Championship belt at Double or Nothing 2019, Chris Jericho went backstage while still followed by AEW’s cameras. At some point, he saw a bottle of champagne on a table and said “Oh…a little bit of the BUBBLY!”, and the rest is history. This became a meme, which eventually became an action figure set. A meme turned into a toy. What a time to be alive!
8. MCFARLANE TOYS’ DOOM SLAYER : DOOMICORN
Rip and tear, until it is done!
Imagine you’re a demon, and you’re just going about with your day, doing demonic things, and a guy dressed like THIS shows up and slaughters all your friends, before coming for you… Now, that’s a new level of humiliation!
7. DIAMOND SELECT’S STAR TREK TNG: PICARD (FACEPALM - SDCC 2020)
*Facepalming intensifies*
Another meme turned into toy, with Jean Luc Picard’s facepalm limited edition bust. This speaks for itself. This year deserved a massive facepalm, and Picard delivered. There’s also a Riker version of it!!
6. HASBRO’S MARVEL LEGENDS DEAPOOL “PREMIUM INTERACTIVE HEAD”
The merc with a mouth…without a body!
This made the list only because of the commercial, which was completely insane. It’s Deadpool. It talks. Need I say more?
5. SUPER7’S DELUXE REN AND STIMPY
Happy happy joy joy!
From the classic wacky animated series come those 2 deluxe action figures from Super7. Alternative heads and hands, weird accessories, they have it all!
4. BANDAI’S CUP NOODLE 1/1 SCALE MODEL KIT
Hungry? Cup Noodle! Nissan!
In the history of weird model kits, we’re pretty sure nothing can top that one. The 1/1 scale Cup Noodle model kit was really fun to build, and looks amazing displayed in a kitchen, next to the real thing. Careful not to add boiling water to that one, though…
3. HASBRO’S STAR WARS BLACK SERIES HOLIDAY EDITION
A long time ago, in a Christmas holiday far, far away…
A lot of controversy came with those one, but who cares about negative opinions, those are super fun. I mean, come on… Winter porgs? Green stormtroopers? A ‘Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer’ D-0? We totally wanted those to be part of our Christmas decorations this year…
2. NECA’S TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES MUSICAL MUTAGEN TOUR (SDCC 2020)
Cowabunga, dudes!
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle line has been a very successful line for NECA, so it was not surprising that they would release some sort of set to be SDCC exclusive, but oh boy, no one saw that one coming. The turtles with their ‘Coming out of their shells tour’, complete with denim outfits, instuments, and stage. This is ‘silliness’ at its best! They’re wearing shoes!!
1. HASBRO’S G.I.JOE CLASSIFIED SERIES - FINANCIAL DIRECTOR DESTRO
Pimpin’ ain’t easy!
What else? What else could have been number 1 on a list of the funniest/weirdest/silliest toys of 2020 than the Pimp Destro himself? That figure is so absurd and loud, it’s perfect. He comes with a suitcase full of cash, sunglasses, burning dollar bills, has leopard pattern on his costume and a leopard skin as a cape. Hasbro, we want more of that !
HONORABLE MENTION: 100% SOFT TOYS’ DUMPSTER FIRE
There is no better toy to represent this year than this one. There are now several variants of it, with facemask, with lights, … and we hope to see more of it in 2021.
Here it is, folks! The ToyFarce Top 10 Funniest and Weirdest toys of 2020! Did we miss any? Would you have placed them differently? Let us know in the comments!

HUNDREDS OF CONTAINERS LOST AT SEA, INCLUDING BANDAI PRODUCTS… COLLECTORS SUDDENTLY INTO SCUBA-DIVING!
ToyFarce heard that thousands of collectors have suddently found a passion for scuba-diving, with many enrolling in scuba-diving classes, and several trips booked to Hawaii, in order to go snorkeling in that area. Coincidence?
TRAGIC NEWS:
HUNDREDS OF CONTAINERS LOST AT SEA, INCLUDING BANDAI PRODUCTS… COLLECTORS SUDDENTLY INTO SCUBA-DIVING!
First of all, ToyFarce wishes you all a merry christmas and happy holidays!
Over the last few days, we’ve heard about the tragic news that a massive One Apus container ship, transporting several thousands of containers, was hit by a storm in the Pacific ocean, northwest of Hawaii, and lost over 1900 containers in the sea (about $200 million worth of cargo). Bandai has sent an email to lots of its customers saying that some of the containers had Bandai products inside, including S.H. Figuarts figures, like the Iron Man mk85 (I am Iron Man edition), Endgame Scarlet Witch, and the Dragon Ball Z Goku, Gohan, Android 17 and 18 figures. It is a tragedy, and thankfully, we’ve heard that nobody was injured on the boat.
Now, ToyFarce heard that thousands of collectors have suddently found a passion for scuba-diving, with many enrolling in scuba-diving classes, and several trips booked to Hawaii, in order to go snorkeling in that area. Coincidence? We’ve asked one collector about his sudden love for diving in the sea:
“Well, I’m certainly not going to let the fishes enjoy my S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball Z Ultra Instinct Sign Goku figure! They sold out in minutes during the summer, and every Dragon Ball Z collector want one! There is no way I’m letting those sleep at the bottom of the sea! I’m sure after letting them dry and removing the seaweeds and barnacles from the figures, they will look perfectly fine!”
More news at 11:00… Oooooooh… Who lives in a container under the sea? DBZ GOKU!

REVIEW: JAZWARES’ AEW UNRIVALED SERIES 2!
Today was a great mail day! Just in time for Christmas, the AEW Unrivaled series 2 finally arrived (It was pre-ordered back in July on Ringside Collectibles).
TOYFARCE REVIEWS:
JAZWARES’ AEW UNRIVALED SERIES 2!
Today was a great mail day! Just in time for Christmas, the AEW Unrivaled series 2 finally arrived (It was pre-ordered back in July on Ringside Collectibles), and I couldn’t wait to make a review for those, so they were taken right out of the shipper box straight to the photoshoot.
As usual, here are some packaging pictures…
Pentagon Jr / Penta El Zero M (or whatever he is called this week) & Rey Fenix
“Hangman” Adam Page & “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes
Joooooooooooon Moxley & MJF
Just like the first wave, those figures are pretty solid, look great (even if not as accurate as a Mattel Elite figure headsculpt for some), and show a nice step forward from Jazwares, who fixed the skin tone issues they had with the previous figures. And now, let’s #LetEmBreathe!
Pentagon Jr and Fenix were the ones I was waiting for the most. Those guys are definitely very toyetic, so it’s not a coincidence that multiple brands are making figures of the Lucha Bros. (I also have the Boss Fight Studios figures on pre-order, but God knows when those will show up). The ‘CERO MIEDO’ hand for Pentagon Jr was a must, and people would have rioted if it wasn’t included. The only nitpick i would have is the lack of a second head for Penta (as it was displayed at ToyFare back in February), but I’m very happy with the one we got.
“¡ Porque nosotros somos los Luchas Brothers, y no tenemos… CERO MIEDO !”
“¡ ANIMO !”
Jon Moxley made his debut in AEW at Double or Nothing ‘19, and became the AEW Champion very quickly. His signature entrance throught the crowd still captivates all the fans, so I couldn’t just have him pose in the ring, he had to come from the outside!
The purveyor of violence comes with the AEW Championship belt and his signature jacket
“One day, they will come at my funeral to make sure that I stay dead!”
Hangman (and his giant feet) comes with a lasso, and an alternative hand. He does have pretty big fit. But he’s hangman. You know what they say about men with big feet… He could have included a bottle of booze, but that might not fare well in the toy section…
“COWBOY SHIT! COWBOY SHIT!”
“The Natural” Dustin Rhodes does not have any accessories, but makes up for it by being a giant. We’ve all seen the complaints about the scale issues, and the size difference in the ‘Blood Brothers’ two-pack (Ringside exclusive!). This is pretty much the same figure, without the blood.
“Keep steppin’!”
And last but certainly not least, MJF, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, comes with his signature Burberry scarf, and a microphone. This should not surprise anybody, as this man is always killing it with his promos, so giving him a mic was 100% a necessity.
“I AM BETTER THAN YOU, AND YOU KNOW IT!”
And now, let’s have some fun with them!
Those 2 set of brothers have had countless classic matches together, and it is unreal to finally have them as action figures.
“Escalera de la muerte!”
“*shhhhhh*… CERO… MIEDO!”
“He’s gonna break his arm!!”
“Fenix walked on the top rope from one side of the ring to the other!”
“CANADIAN DESTROYER!!!!”
“CERO MIEDO! Clap clap clapclapclap! CERO MIEDO! clap clap clapclapclap!”
“I don’t need a partner… I don’t need a friend…”
“… I need my older brother!”
“Hey, cut my music! Hold on, hold on, I’m seeing a bunch of marks who are looking at toys, like a bunch of children. How old are you people? Are you really buying toys while being adults? Are you kidding me? Well, you’ll never see me go that low…You see, I’m better than you, and you know it…”
“Adam Page has had enough of listening to MJF…”
“and he’s setting him up for a…”
“ BUCKSHOT LARIAT! ”
“Here is the main event from a few weeks ago, on AEW: Winter is Coming!”
“PARADIGM SHIFT!”
AEW Unrivaled series 2 is a great wave, and I cannot wait for the recently announced series 3 (already pre-ordered). Series 3 will have PAC, Riho, Darby Allin, a new set of Nick and Matt Jackson with different attire, and Orange Cassidy, with real hands-in-pocket action!

Spoiler: AND NEEEEEEW….
SCALPERS UNAPOLOGETIC ABOUT RUINING CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS BY BUYING ALL THE TOYS!
We’re a few days away from Christmas, and once again, this year, some items will not be available for children (and adults too!) all over the world, because some adult men prefer profit over letting people be happy!
SAD NEWS:
SCALPERS UNAPOLOGETIC ABOUT RUINING CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS BY BUYING ALL THE TOYS!
“If they want it, they can buy it on my eBay page!”
We’re a few days away from Christmas, and once again, this year, some items will not be available for children (and adults too!) all over the world, because some adult men prefer profit over letting people be happy!
This year’s selection includes the newest generation consoles, such as the Playstation 5 or the XBox Series X, the latest NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles offerings (Animated Splinter and Baxter two-pack, 90’s movie Splinter and Shredder two-pack, and the enormous Krang figure), the Jazwares (and Wicked Cool Toys) AEW figures (both series 1 and 2), most of Hasbro’s GI Joe Classified figures, etc…
After reaching with the S.C.A.L.P. Corporation, we were told that there will be no apology, and that “it’s a free country”, “first-come-first-served”, “not our fault if you don’t go to wait at 6:30 in front of your Walmart/Target to buy the entire stock”, and “you can always buy it on our eBay page at a higher price, which includes the Time & Energy tax.”
Some things will never change…
In the meantime, ToyFarce hopes you got all the collectibles you wanted, placed all those pre-orders on the toys you need, and hope that you’ll be happy with all the upcoming announcements from your favorite brands!
The upcoming last few articles of this year will be ‘Top 5’ or ‘Top 10’ (if we find enough things) of 2020. We hope you’ll enjoy them!

COLLECTOR BUYS HIMSELF RARE, EXPENSIVE TOYS; TELLS EVERYONE HIS WIFE GOT THEM FOR HIM!
“My fiancé went to do the groceries and got me the entire GI Joe Classified Cobra Island set! She’s a keeper!”
BREAKING NEWS:
COLLECTOR BUYS HIMSELF RARE, EXPENSIVE TOYS; TELLS EVERYONE HIS WIFE GOT THEM FOR HIM!
“My fiancé went to do the groceries and got me the entire GI Joe Classified Cobra Island set! She’s a keeper!”
“My wife surprised me this VINTAGE MINT ON CARD JAWA WITH VYNIL CAPE that I was missing! She thought it was cute and that I would like it! Thanks, Sarah!”
“My boyfriend just bought me an helicopter LOL!”
In the last few years, you may have seen lots of posts similar to this. It seems that lots of significant others are suddently very savvy about the toys and collectibles that their partners want, and somehow find some good deals, out of nowhere. ToyFarce does not deny that this can happen, and that some definitely share the passion with their soulmates, of course, but some of them do sound a bit too big…
Let’s be honest for a second, here: To the guy that says that his wife “surprised him” with a Mint in sealed box GI Joe U.S.S. Flagg Aircraft Carrier as an “early Christmas present”: We don’t believe you. You totally bought this for yourself.
A lot of collectors have collections of decent sizes and sometimes need to have a checklist to keep track of what they have, so having their partner “randomly surprising them” with one of the few items that they are missing does sound suspicious. They could at least admit that they asked them for that very specific one.
So what makes collectors post something like that? Is it for the attention? Would their post get more ‘likes’ if they say their wife bought it rather than saying that they bought it themselves? Is it to reduce the guilt of succombing to the temptation and paying scalper prices? The mystery remains unresolved…
What do you think about it?
More news at 11:00… by the way, totally unrelated, but my girlfriend just bought me fifteen Prime1 Studios statues this month. Thanks, honey!

REVIEW: VTS TOYS “BLACK SKULL” SIXTH SCALE FIGURE
Today, we’ll take a look at VTS Toys (or Virtual Toys) “Black Skull” figure.
TOYFARCE REVIEWS:
VTS TOYS “BLACK SKULL” SIXTH SCALE FIGURE
Finally, there was some progress in the post system and I got my hands on some fresh, brand new toy! Today, we’ll take a look at VTS Toys (or Virtual Toys) “Black Skull” figure. VTS Toys is a third party brand, and just like every other third party brand, they have to use the “slightly different name” trick to avoid getting unwanted attention (which reminds me that I definitely have to talk about that in an article someday…)
Disclaimer: This figure has nothing to do with a video game called ‘Arkh@m Orig1ns’ or a character called ‘Black M@sk’ (*wink wink*).
The packaging is pretty sober, with some texture on the mask that show when displayed against a light.
Inside, you’ll find the figure along with a multitude of different hands, 2 alternative eye ‘pieces’, and a second level with weapons, accessories and base stand.
Right off the bat(man?), that figure is of very high quality, and will fit very well next to another pricier/non-third party sixth scale figure brand. That depiction of Roman Sionis and his mask is spot-on. The tailoring is quite amazing, and that white suit looks spectacular.
The 3 different sets of eyes include the black parts around the eyes (like if he was wearing some sort of hood under the mask) with eyes looking straight, and to the side, and a third option without the black hood looking straight in front of him. There is a part behind the head held by magnets (how do they work?!), which can be removed in order to change the eyes.
The figure is highly poseable and has that intimidating look that mob bosses usually have.
Now, about the accessories: VTS Toys did a great job on that part too. The black baseball bat is actually made of steel, and will do that signature “cling” sound when dropped on the floor or smashed against the head of an enemy. I didn’t expect that!
The assault rifle has a retractable armrest that can be pulled in or out. The ammo mag can be removed and had great details as well (the bullet at the top is painted and all!).
Even Black Ma…I mean Black Skull’s watch is detailed (a bit of a pain in the ass to attach, but it wouldn’t be a real sixth scale figure experience if there wasn’t a part that give you trouble to attach on it, would it?)
It’s getting hot in here, so let’s remove his jacket, shall we?
The holsters can be put under the suit. The guns have also amazing details, with the ammo mags being removable as well, with a painted bullet at the top for both, and the top part can be pulled back, like on a real gun, a nice touch!
“You cockroaches wanna play rough? Okay, I'm reloaded!! ” - Michael Bolton
“BANG BANG!”
There’s also a bomb included with the figure, once again showing that VTS Toys isn’t joking around. All the details on the ‘motherboard’ are painted nicely. It’s as if they have someone at VTS Toys that knows its way around weapons and bombs… Oh boy, that’s a weird thought.
The base stand is very nice too, in the sense that it’s not the usual flat oval black plastic bland base stand, but they added some rubble, as if there had just been a stand down where Black M..Skull is located (and he won!). Here are all the accessories:
That figure is a great offering from VTS Toys, and will look amazing next to your other Arkham-related sixth scale figure, especially for the price which is a fraction of what a Hot Toys figure usually costs (about $135 on KGHobby).
“You had your shot, Deathstroke, and you’re not the ONLY assassin in town…”
“…and the night is young.”
“I WANT THE BAT… AND PICTURES OF SPIDER-MAN!”
“Err… you look taller in person!”
*Sinister plotting intensifies!*
This wraps up another review. Hopefully, i’ll get more new stuff before next wednesday!

BREAKING NEWS:
SIDESHOW COLLECTIBLES ANNOUNCES GAMBIT SIXTH SCALE FIGURE… “STIFLER” IN THE MCU: CONFIRMED?!
Last friday, Sideshow Collectibles announced their upcoming Gambit sixth scale action figure from their Marvel Comics line, along with tons of pictures.
The highly detailed figure will come with lots of accessories, including his staff, a triple card throwing effect, four aces with painted glow effect, four pairs of normal hands, four pairs of the same hands but with glowing effect, and an alternate swappable hairstyle.
One collector, Gian D. , couldn’t help but notice the astonishing (pun intended) resemblance with the actor that played Steve Stifler in the American Pie movies, Seann William Scott.
You see it too, right?
The likeness looks pretty spot on, and we know that Sideshow Collectibles may allegedly know about the casting of the actors in advance in order to prepare the headsculpts for their upcoming figures, which can only mean one thing:
SEANN WILLIAM SCOTT AS GAMBIT IN THE MCU: CONFIRMED!
Suck it, “WeGotThisCovered.com”, we got that scoop before you! HA! The actor has not confirmed or denied the rumor, as of writing.
