The Undertaker. The Phenom. The Deadman. How about that for Spooktober? Mattel just released that beautiful WWE Elite figure from series 79 of the Undertaker, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of his career. The Undertaker started at Survivor Series in 1990, so this November, it will officially be 30 year of the Undertaker. The real question is: Will he come back from one more match…again…again? :)

This is a really nice update of the Undertaker. I am not a huge fan of the very rigid jacket that they put on those figures, but it does look damn cool on a shelf.

Last week, in Austin, Texas, a customer went to a Build-A-Bear workshop with a very unusual request: He wanted to build a bear using real bear parts! ToyFarce talked with one of the store’s employee:
“He came with a huge duffel bag, and asked if there were limits to what we could do in the store. We explained him that in our store, you can build your own Teddy bear using all the parts that you can find in the store: you pick the body, you stuff it, you add whichever clothes you want, you give him a heart and name it, and it is your very own, unique Teddy bear. He then asked if he could use parts that he already had, which surprised me. Now, bear with me (pun intended)… I thought he meant some clothes or accessories, but he then proceeded to open his bag, and he had actual bear parts in there! I think i saw 2 bloody bear claws, maybe a leg, a lot of fur… It was unbearable (pun intended)! I immediately called security, and this man is now banned, and will not be allowed in any Build-a-Bear workshops all over the world.”
That man seems to have confused the Build-a-Bear store with a taxidermy store. Honest mistake?

COLLECTOR BUYS LOOSE FIGURE ON EBAY, RECEIVES IT MINT IN BOX… THREATENS TO SUE!!
A horrible situation, with no precedent, happened to Steve, an action figure collector from Florida. Steve ordered an action figure loose (lingo for “outside of the packaging”, “opened”), and to his disgust, he received that figure mint in box (or “unopened”). Here is Steve’s reaction:
“I am emotionally and physically drained, I feel betrayed and sick to my stomach. I ordered this figure loose, because I already have it in box. I don’t want to open it. I ordered a figure loose, so that I can display it next to the boxed one, and now, I end up with 2 boxed ones. What do I do with 2 boxed ones?? This is NOT what I wanted. I have contacted my lawyer.”
ToyFarce contacted the seller to understand what happened, who just wanted to please his customer. “I thought he would be happy. I found one at the store for the same price, so I thought I would send him a brand new one, in box, instead of the loose one… I just wanted to be nice.”
UPDATE: ToyFarce heard from Steve’s lawyers that an agreement has been reached, and Steve will send the figure back to the seller, who will then open it, and send it back. We are glad this issue could be resolved amicably.

Transformers: More than meets the *I ain’t afraid of no Ghosts!*
“Discover how these worlds collide in this Transformers-Ghostbusters mash-up pack! The iconic Ecto-1 Cadillac from the 1984 Ghostbusters movie is now a Transformers robot -- a converting Paranormal Investigator, called Ectotron!” - Hasbro
Last year, Hasbro revealed their first collaborative Transformer robot, with Ghostbuster’s Ecto 1 turning into Ectotron. Since then, they have announced another robot that would take the shape of the Delorean from Back to the Future, called Gigawatt, along with the plane from Top Gun, transforming into Maverick.
ToyFarce announced a few of the other figures that were leaked in a previous article ( https://www.toyfarce.com/news//2020/07/more-transformers-collaborative-figures.html ).
The packaging has that classic original look from the past, which is a great touch.
The Ecto-1 is very well made, and could easily pass as standard Ghostbusters merch, to an untrained eye. The Slimer figure that come with it is surprisingly detailed, in a creepy way.
Then, after a 22-steps (!) transformation, Ectotron is revealed!
Ectotron has a very serious face, for… some reason. The beige color reminds us of the Ghostbusters jumpsuits, and the ‘Ectotron’ nametag is a fun addition.
He comes with his very own proton pack and neutrona wand, and is ready to bust some ghosts!
Transformers… Robots with backpaaacks!
“It’s right here, Ray. It’s looking at me…”
As a first Transformers Collaborative robot, it is a fun robot. He could definitely have had a more friendly face, or even a scared expression, anything else, really. The Back to the Future one sold out in minutes, and a second release was already planned. Let’s hope we can all get our hands on that one, too!

TODD McFARLANE TEASES MEDIEVAL SPAWN FOR SECOND KICKSTARTER…BUT WE REALLY WANTED TREMOR!
During a live video on his social media pages this weekend, Todd McFarlane, the ToddFather, provided us with fresh updates on the Kickstarter original Spawn action figure, which should be ready before the end of the year. He had a version of the figure to show us and it still looks amazing. He then talked about what would be the follow up to that Kickstarter figure…
… and it was not Tremor :(
Back in February, at the New York Toy Fair, The Toddfather presented the first Kickstarter Spawn figure, which is an updated version of the very first Spawn figure from the first series back in 1995, and he said that if this one goes well, he may do the entire first series as Kickstarter exclusive figures. That series included Spawn, TREMOR, Medieval Spawn, Overkill, The Clown and Violator.
After the undeniable success of the original Spawn figure Kickstarter, which gathered nearly 3,5 millions of dollars, it was expected that Todd would announce another figure soon. Now, ToyFarce understands that it can be tricky, figures like Violator or Overkill might be a tough sell, and it would be harder to reach the goal for them, but Tremor is a sure thing !! Look at him!!

Imagine an updated version of this figure! It would look amazing with a torso SLIGHTLY TILTED TO THE SIDE, wouldn’t it?
But NO... Todd McFarlane decided to make the fans wait, and teased that the second figure could be the Medieval Spawn. An updated 7” figure of the Medieval Spawn with:
Tons of cool accessories like a giant shield, a big axe, a sword, a mace with spikes and chains,…
Some of those accessories could be diecast metal.
The figure could have multiple heads, with different helmets/masks, including one that would have hinges so that you can open it to see the face/skull of the figure inside.
Ok…Fine, it all sounds very nice and exciting and we’ll end up backing it anyway, but please! Make the next one Tremor!

NECA’S NEXT GREMLINS SET REVEALED: GRETA’S WEDDING!
After teasing her for a long time, NECA finally officially announced their action figure of Greta, from Gremlins 2 - The New Batch! NECA shared some informations and pictures, and the Ultimate Greta figure should come out in January 2021.
ToyFarce did some digging and managed to get a scoop for you: This will not be the only figure of Greta in 2021!
According to an insider source, there are plans to make a 2-pack later on, representing Greta and her love-interest from the movie, Frank Forster (portrayed by actor extraordinaire Robert Picardo), on their wedding day!
Do you remember that scene at the end, when Greta is in full wedding gown, walking towards Forster, and there is a close-up of his face, and his facial expression basically tells “Well…why the hell not?” ?
Well, thanks to NECA, we now know that it turns out Greta and Frank ended up getting married and had a lovely life together!
NECA can even ask Playmates if they can use their Robert Picardo sculpts from the Star Trek: Voyager action figure line, which would make the process even easier!

More cartoony versions of our favorite killers!
Okay, that first wave was really fun, so I picked some more. Here is the second wave in their glorious packaging! The amazing part about this line is that, when you look at them in their packaging, or if you don’t put their weapons in their hands, it looks like they’re all dancing to their favorite song in a nightclub!
Pinhead doing some sort of variation of the macarena…
Leatherface just doing a silly dance…
And Michael Myers popped his collar up and enjoys some nice techno beats, fist pumping.
Toony Terror Pinhead looks pretty much the same as normal version pinhead, except he does not have nails planted in his head (probably to keep the cartoon aesthetic rather simple). He comes with the movie’s Pandora’s Box (or Lament Configuration), which has also been stripped to its bare minimum to look cartoony.
We have such sights to show you.
Michael Myers (no relation to the ‘Wayne’s World’ and ‘Austin Powers’ actor Mike Myers) from the Halloween franchise is pretty simple as well, but that’s how he always looked. He comes with a big knife and a spooky carved pumpkin.
Purely and simply…evil.
Last but not least, Leatherface, that abonimable deranged monster from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, happens to be the most ‘cartoony’ from that wave. He looks right out of a Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network cartoon. He comes with his trusted chainsaw (duh).

NECA spoiled us with another fun wave of Toony Terrors and I cannot wait to get the following ones. They are silly, yet still represent our favorite horror icons.

It has been a very long time since some new Walking Dead Action figures came out. McFarlane Toys was doing an awesome job with their TV series and comic book lines of 5” figure lines, …
… then released some 10” of a few characters, and switched things up by restarting the line with the 7” “Color Tops” figures, …
… then came the construction sets and their 2” figures, …
… and the collector’s editions of the dvd/blu-ray sets of the series.
The last thing that was announced by McFarlane was the Color Tops 7” figure of Jesus in 2016 (picture below), which never came out !
ToyFarce asked zombie experts from all over the world for their opinion about what happened to the Walking Dead action figure license, and it turns out the license ended up turning itself into a “walker”:
It is alive, but dead at the same time.
A lot of companies may or may not still have the Walking Dead license (McFarlane Toys, Funko, ThreeZero,…) but it seems that the license just died down, becoming a zombie itself.
Even if the comic book series by Robert Kirkman has now ended, maybe the addition of several spin-off shows, ( Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, along with another show about Daryl & Carol), and movies (showing what happened to Rick Grimes after he left) will revive the license! One thing is for sure, we are still going to see walkers on our TVs for a while…

At the end of september, during the Hasbro PulseCon event, Hasbro announced a wave that nobody knew they wanted (and some are still wondering), the Holiday Edition Black Series, a wave of Christmas-themed troopers. Here are the pictures of the announced figures:
ToyFarce reached out to Hasbro to ask them the important question: What about Halloween?? If you are going to announce figures based on a holiday right before october, you have to take into account that there is Halloween first!
Hasbro let us know that a wave was in development but got canceled because there wasn’t enough time to produce the figures on time for the Halloween festivities. Maybe next year? Here are the prototype pictures that they sent us (allegedly).

REVIEW: NECA’S TOONY TERRORS, SERIES 1
… because nothing says ‘Cartoony’ like a child molester, a teenager murderer and a couple of child-eating dancing clowns!
Last year, in October, NECA started releasing the ‘Toony Terrors’, a new line of plastic figures representing all the horror icons, in a cartoony way. I didn’t pay much attention to them at first, I’ll admit that, as I saw them at Gamestop a few times and passed on them. Eventually, they grew on me, and as more waves were announced, I ended up getting the first few waves all at once. This is the review for the first wave.
Toony Terrors, series 1
The first wave includes most of the biggest horror icons, such as Jason Vorhees from the Friday, the 13th franchise, Freddy Krueger from the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, and 2 version of Pennywise the Clown, from It: The Tim Curry version and the Bill Skarsgård version.
Jason comes with his trusted machete. He looks like a bad guy from a Scooby Doo cartoon, which is great: It allows for display on your shelves next to other Hanna-Barbera figures!
Ki… ki… ki… ma… ma… ma…
Freddy is the only one that has a stand, and cannot stand on his own. His blades are super fragile, and already needed to be superglued once after he took a dive from a shelf… Be careful with those!
Something something… bitch !
The ‘Tim Curry’ Pennywise comes with an orange balloon, which can be put in his hand (in a tiny hole, that will leave you sweaty and miserable after you’ve tried to enter the balloon’s string in it, and the white plastic covering the metalic string just goes away as it enters… The people who know will know).
I'll drive you crazy and I'll kill you all!
The ‘recent’ Pennywise comes with a red balloon, along with a paper boat. The same boat that he used in the movie to trick Georgie to come into the sewers. The balloon can be put in his hand the same way as the other Pennywise (which is terrible).
Do you want a balloon too, Georgie?
The Toony Terrors are a pretty cool line. Series 2 and 3 are on their way, hopefully for more Spooktober reviews! If you’re a toy collector and a fan of horror, I don’t see any reason why you would not like those. They decorate a desk very nicely.
