Over the last few days, multiple collectors have been receiving their Mossquatch from Mezco, and started to wonder if they did anything wrong.

Over the last few days, multiple collectors have been receiving their Mossquatch from Mezco, and started to wonder if they did anything wrong. Mezco is usually known to have good protection in their packages, along with extra goodies (stickers, a mez-itz blind bag which turns out to always be a golden grub,…). This time, Mossquatch was delivered without any bubble wrap, or any goodies. Something is off. ToyFarce investigated…
Multiple collectors, like @toy_bro, took to the internet to mention their package came with barely enough protection, in the form of a plastic sheet around the box.
@Prime2da1st on Instagram immediately wondered what was going on with his relationship with Mezco…
Collector Granger Benson on Facebook even mentioned that his Mossquatch arrived with a damaged box, and that Mezco would NOT send him a replacement (either a refund, or keep the figure with the damaged box)
Additionally, several items were discreetely delayed on the website, with their release dates pushed to the next quarter. You can see what was delayed on this very helpful graphic by @fabster360
ToyFarce sent a message to Mezco, and only received a reply saying “I’m fine.”
The only explanation is… we, collectors, must have done or said something that Mezco didn’t like, and we are now getting the cold shoulder. What was it? How can we know if Mezco is giving us the silent treatment? It’s going to be tricky.
To Mezco: How are you doing? Is there anything wrong? Talk to us. We can work things our if you tell us what is wrong… Please? I bought ice cream…
Update: Mezco’s status as now been “Typing…” for several minutes now. Please send help.

Mezco and Mafex. 2 companies that are known for their high quality products, great articulations, awesome details…and never-ending delays!
The American brand Mezco, popular these days thanks to their One:12 collective line which include soft goods, great details and tons of accessories has suffered multiple delays over the last few months/years. Meanwhile, the japanese brand MAFEX, which collectors adore thanks to their highly articulated “import” figures, have made delays in release dates a tradition. Both brands sell high quality action figures for over $90 a pop (which is pretty steep), so you would expect that the figures would come out on time, but nope… ToyFarce uncovered the truth!
Announced in July 2020, release date: May 2021… then July 2021… then October 2021…
It appears that both brands are now in a competition to see who can have the most action figures delayed at the same time! This was revealed by an anonymous source (probably a disgruntled employee, again), who told ToyFarce that their goal is to become “THE” brand that announces the most products, but actually never releases anything. “It’s the perfect cover! They just keep announcing new figures every few months, people pre-order the hell out of them, they make a ton of money, with no plan whatsoever to actually start production!” said the anonymous source. “They are Announcements/Reveal brands, now".
Announced in January 2020, release date: Aug-Oct 2020… now showing Aug-Oct 2021…

MEZCO’S NEWEST PRODUCT: PRE-SOLD OUT ACTION FIGURES!
Have you ever tried to buy a Mezco Toyz ‘One:12 Collective’ figure? Especially a Mezco Exclusive one, or a Gomez or a new character from their very own IP, ‘Rumble Society’? It’s like a love-hate relationship. If you did, you are aware of how things usually go:
First, Mezco randomly sends an email saying ‘there will be a drop at 1pm EST today’. Then, at 1pm EST, most people don’t even check what the new item is, add it to their cart right away, and proceed to the cursed checkout. Then, a battle starts between collectors wanting to buy an item, a flimsy checkout system and a race against time against other collectors trying to do the same thing at the same time. A few will have a seamless checkout experience, entering their credit card number or paying with paypal, and successfully purchasing the item. For others, it’s another story, with a ‘runtime error’ or ‘credit card error’ message appearing several times. (Yes, this man mezcoes.). Soon enough, the item is on waitlist. Frustrated collectors who didn’t manage to get the item go on social media to vent. Erase. Rinse. Repeat at the next drop.
Mezco has now found a solution to avoid that whole painful process, and it will be to sell action figures that are pre-sold out. From now on, the figures will be announced in an email, then we will get a glorious review video of the figure by the great D_Amazing, to get that nice FOMO, and after that, the page will go live, and the item will be sold out right away! That way, nobody will get it, scalpers won’t be able to do their thing, collectors won’t get it either (but they’re used to it by now), and everybody will be happy.
It’s nice to see a brand listen to their fans like that! Now, if we could get that nice Batman 1989 One:12 collective figure…

“A COMPLETE COINCIDENCE!” - SEVERAL BRANDS ANNOUNCE AWESOME TOYS JUST DAYS AFTER THE STIMULUS CHECKS HIT!
In the last 7 days, millions of Americans received their $1400 stimulus check, money sent by the U.S. government to stimulate the economy and provide consumers with some spending money. It is a great gesture and must be a relief for a lot of people, but it seems that the arrival of the deposits hasn’t fallen on deaf ears, as multiple toy brands announced awesome toys, surprise waves, or long-awaited figures finally released merely days after the deposits arrived!
Hot Toys announced a 2-pack that includes the reissue of a “grail”, the very sought-after Knightmare Batman along with a brand new black suit Superman.
NECA announced that they FINALLY got the license for John Carpenter’s “The Thing”, and will release a ULTIMATE (say it with a deep voice and your arms open, like Robo) of Kurt Russell’s character. Can’t wait for the actual ‘Thing’!
Mezco opened the pre-orders for their recently announced Destro from G.I.Joe on wednesday, and doubled up on thursday, with the release of their long awaited Black Skulls Death Brigade figure (which was yet again, a clusterf*ck to order).
And finally, Hasbro announced a new surprise wave of their Star Wars Black Series figures, which includes figures from the extended universe, such as Jaxxon from the comic book, which fans had been asking for a loooong time!
ToyFarce asked representative of those brands about the suspicious timing of all those announcements/pre-orders/releases, which all came out only days after everyone got their deposit, and here is what their answers boiled down to:
“Stimulus check? What stimulus check?… Oh, THAT Stimulus check? The $1400 that everybody got, and can now buy toys with? Was it this week? We had no idea, we promise! That’s a complete coincidence: But just wait until you see what we have in store for when the next one hits! Oh wait…”

The Mezco ToyzFair 2021 event has been going strong during the weekend, with new fresh and exciting reveals every hours during saturday and sunday afternoon, with reveals of One:12 Collective figures such as The Crow, the Green Mighty Morphin Power Ranger, and the Fantastic Four, while some other reveals were…questionable (What the hell is a Grub?)

MORE KRIGS!
We already have red and black, so we’re missing green, blue, yellow and pink to have a full set of Krig rangers! It’s either that, or more random “Rumble Society” close up pictures that leave us more confused!
MORE POWER RANGERS, ANY OTHER THAN FREAKING MIGHTY MORPHIN’!
Speaking of Power Rangers… So far, every brand that has acquired the “Power Rangers” license has been only producing figures from the 1993 Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers show. It’s not like there’s nearly 30 years of content, with a new design every year, right? (And that’s not counting the years of japanese Sentai before that…) There’s plenty more to pick from, and we’re hopeful Mezco will finally be the brand that does something else (which will probably not happen…). Our pick: We want Andros from Power Rangers In Space!
MORE C-LIST BATMAN VILLAINS!
Mezco already made KGBeast, so it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if they released a few more C-listers before giving us Riddler, Penguin, Man-bat, Killer Croc, or any other of the more important villains from Batman’s Rogue gallery! Our bets are on Condiment King or Kite Man!
MORE UNEXPECTED MOVIE ICONS!
Could you imagine a One:12 Collective figure of Imhotep from ‘The Mummy’? Who wouldn’t want that?

We already have Popeye, so why not go all the way and release more classic cartoon characters? The Flintstones, the Jetsons, the Scooby gang, Dastardly and Muttley, bring them on!

ONE:12 COLLECTIVE GOLDEN GIRLS 4-PACK!
They finished day 1 with a (Fantastic) 4-pack announcement, and many collectors are speculating that we will get a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 4-pack announced today, but we’re sure that Mezco has just been teasing us so we wouldn’t expect another 4-pack: The GOLDEN GIRLS! Seriously, who would expect that?
Whether those figures are announced or not, we will see very soon! It’s possible that Mezco is also keeping them for SDCC reveals later in the summer…
