It’s Wednesday, you know what that means… ToyFarce reviews!

This week, we’re taking a look at the brand new Hush figure from the Batman: Hush line, by MAFEX. No, the figure is not called “Hush-hush” as the title of the review implies (Sorry!). This figure is the fourth figure from the Batman: Hush line (fifth if we count the black cowl batman, WHICH IS A REPAINT), and is a figure of the main villain from the classic comic book story arc, by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee.

Here’s what’s in the box! *Record scratch* Wait a minute…

ARE THOSE GUNS?! YEAH BOY!

As usual, MAFEX delivered in terms of sculpt and articulations. Hush comes with a dozen hands (for real!), 2 other headsculpts, interchangeable belt and logo parts for his costume, 2 Harvey Dent/Two-Face coins and a batarang.

The 2 extra headsculpts are the Jason Todd face from that moment in the comic book and his ‘resting bitch face’.

The logo and belt can be switched for when you’re using the Jason Todd headsculpt. Ingenious!

Hush’s jacket is removable, but…

“Damn it, I forgot to remove my sleeves again. I hate when that happens!”

The “Jason Todd-Hush figure look” looks pretty great too. It’s nearly tempting to buy a second one to have them displayed differently.

THE POUCHES ARE INDIVIDUALLY ARTICULATED! Rob Liefeld (the creator of Deadpool) would be proud.

The next figure from the MAFEX Batman: Hush line should be the Joker coming out in November. After that, there is still Harley Quinn, Stealth suit Batman, Huntress and Nightwing in the pipelines!

MEZCO AND MAFEX IN A HIGH LEVEL COMPETITION TO SEE WHO CAN DELAY THEIR RELEASES THE MOST!

Mezco and Mafex. 2 companies that are known for their high quality products, great articulations, awesome details…and never-ending delays!

The American brand Mezco, popular these days thanks to their One:12 collective line which include soft goods, great details and tons of accessories has suffered multiple delays over the last few months/years. Meanwhile, the japanese brand MAFEX, which collectors adore thanks to their highly articulated “import” figures, have made delays in release dates a tradition. Both brands sell high quality action figures for over $90 a pop (which is pretty steep), so you would expect that the figures would come out on time, but nope… ToyFarce uncovered the truth!

Announced in July 2020, release date: May 2021… then July 2021… then October 2021…

It appears that both brands are now in a competition to see who can have the most action figures delayed at the same time! This was revealed by an anonymous source (probably a disgruntled employee, again), who told ToyFarce that their goal is to become “THE” brand that announces the most products, but actually never releases anything. “It’s the perfect cover! They just keep announcing new figures every few months, people pre-order the hell out of them, they make a ton of money, with no plan whatsoever to actually start production!” said the anonymous source. “They are Announcements/Reveal brands, now".

Announced in January 2020, release date: Aug-Oct 2020… now showing Aug-Oct 2021…

SEVERAL MAJOR TOY BRANDS INTERESTED IN THE POWER RANGERS ENTIRE FRANCHISE; WILL INEVITABLY FOCUS ONLY ON MIGHTY MORPHING LINE !

A lot has happened recently for the ultra popular Power Rangers franchise. The giant American toy maker HASBRO bought the franchise for 522M$ in 2018, and started producing high quality figures of everyone's favorite character (mostly from the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers series). The third party brand ACE TOYZ released beautiful 12inch action figures of the 'Classic Mighty Superheroes', bearing an uncanny resemblance to the Mighty Morphing costumes (wink wink). Meanwhile, BANDAI continues to produce toys for all the Sentai series in Japan, still going strong after 45+ years.  

But is seems that it will not stop there for the teenagers with special powers! Several superstar brands in the toy industry, like the Hong Kong based HOT TOYS, the Japanese MEDICOM (MAFEX), the American SIDESHOW COLLECTIBLES, or the Japanese high-end statue maker PRIME1 STUDIO, have started to show interest in the red, yellow, black, pink and blue franchise (along with sometimes green or white). 

"They are interested in the Power Rangers franchise, but only really to continue milking the MMPR (Mighty Morphing Power Rangers) line. They will probably continue to ignore the 20+ other series, such as Zeo, Turbo, In Space, Lost Galaxy, TimeForce, or whatever came after, and mostly really only do MMPR products. That is what the fans really want: characters from a 27+ year old series.", said "Kakeru", one of ToyFarce News main sources on everything Power Rangers, Sentai and Tokusatsu. "When MMPR will stop to sell, they'll reintroduce the japanese characters from the Zyuranger series instead." (Google it!).
