Last week, Super7 teased a new license that would join their *inhales* ULTIMAAAAATES line of action figures.
IN ROD WE TRUST
Several collectors immediately screamed “OH MY GOD, STAR WARS!!” before deleting their comments shortly after realizing that it was a tease for a Simpsons line (we saw that!). Super7 has since then revealed the figures, which are available for pre-order on their website: https://preorder.super7store.com/

What if ToyFarce told you that, as is tradition, the Simpsons had actually “done it first”, and had teased a Super7 action figure line a long time ago?
First, they had a comic book called “SIMPSONS SUPER SPECTACULAR” which had the word “Super” in it. There was an issue number 7, so it was CLEARLY a tease for a Super7 line:
On the cover, you can see the words “Simpsons”, “Super” and “7”. It’s pretty obvious!
More recently, they had an episode called “the 7 beer itch” (S32E05), which had the number 7 in the title! Another OBVIOUS tease by the creators of the Simpsons. As a matter of fact, the name “Simpson” has 7 letters!! It makes you wonder how long they’ve known about the Super7 figure line!
Seven! It’s right there!
There is also an official episode guide that has the word “ULTIMATE” right in the title!
But the most obvious one that we could find came from an episode from 1995, titled “Bart’s Comet” (S06E14). In that episode, in that episode, Bart discovers a comet while being punished by Skinner, and temporarily joins a group of nerds from the school.
Bart joins a group called… the SUPER friends!
Guess how many members the SUPERfriends had when Bart was a member… BINGO! It was 7! *mic drop*
If that doesn’t convince you, we do not know what will. To us, it’s very clear that the Simpsons had been teasing the Super7 line for all these years. Great job!

Earlier this month, it was revealed that McFarlane Toys would resurrect DC Direct, and fans worldwide rejoiced (including yours truly)! There is not much information yet, apart from the plan to manage the current remaining stocks, along with revamping some of the fan-favorite lines of figures and statues. We can speculate that the Batman Black and White statue series could make a comeback, as it would give McFarlane Toys another way to pump out even more Batman items, and hope that the Animated Series line is coming back (please, please, please!).
The Voice of Reason (@pzahui) found out about pre-orders for those cancelled items on European stores. EXCITING!
But in the comic book world, it is not uncommon to see characters die, and come back to life later. What if (not related to Marvel) this was all part of a DC Comics event too?
The most recent “crisis”-level event in the comic books was the “REBIRTH” event, where we learned later that all that happened during the previous event (New 52) was because of Dr. Manhattan (yes, the blue naked dude from Watchmen) reshaping reality and changing the past. Heroes that were dead were resurrected, so it’s not too farfetched to think that the same could have happened to DC Direct. DC Comics had already rebranded DC Direct to DC Collectibles in the past, before changing their mind and rebranding it back to DC Direct (kind of like what happened with the New 52…). Is Dr. Manhattan behind all this?

Last week, the Marvel Legends team announced a new Retro Fantastic Four wave, so I figured it was time to maybe open that figure, which had been on my “pile of depression” since the beginning of the year. I never really planned to keep it MOC, but the nostalgia value of that packaging made me keep it mint for a while, to appreciate and enjoy it. I actually had the ToyBiz version from 1994 when I was a kid, so it definitely brought up some nostalgia (even though the old one had a really crappy cape and ‘arm elongating action’).
It comes in a sleeve! So fancy!

Bask in the glory that is Doom, the ruler of Latveria!
That Retro collection Dr. Doom is a beautiful figure. It mostly re-uses the sculpts from a previous Doom, but with the same color scheme as the old ToyBiz figure from the 90’s. Great articulations, there’s even slits in the tunic’s “skirt”, which allow him to do the split. My only nit pick is with the ankle articulations, mine are a bit stiff and I can’t really place the feet at a correct angle, because it would be between 2 hinges to have him stand up correctly. Also, it seems the piece holding the foot is a bit small, so moving the feet back and forth too much feels like it’s going to break.
The textures on the tunic are insane!
The sculpts on the armors, with all the hinges and bolts look amazing too.

The headsculpt looks great, even if crooked inside the hood (common issue, it seems). There is a soft goods collar piece.

Accessories include extra hands, 2 books about the magic and dark arts (I assume), a ultimate nullifier, green magic effects, and jet fire effects.

If you love a show or a movie, and don’t get a chance to see it within the first few hours it came out, some butthole might post something about it on social media, and, even if you’re super careful about it, you might end up seeing it and being spoiled anyway (For example, my Star Wars collecting dad who sent me a text message saying “wtf, they killed Han!” while I was literally on my way to see The Force Awakens, after staying off any social media the whole day, a few years ago).
At the same time, it seems to always be a race to be the first to post pictures of reveals, or brand new action figures, regardless of if it will spoil the related show or movie. What’s up with that? Toyfarce investigated.

Mattel announced a few weeks ago their first ever crowdfund campaign during the comic con. Their first campaign is for the WWE Ultimate Edition New Generation Arena, which comes with a scaled ring, complete with planks and fabric details (one of the most realistic looking ring we’ve seen!), the classic New Generation neon entrance and an Ultimate action figure of Diesel (because who doesn’t want an Ultimate Diesel, right?).

You can now feel like a member of the crew building the ring before a night of sports-entertaiment!
The ring will need 5,000 backers to become a reality, and like its Haslab Galactus counterpart, is a bit struggling to reach its goal… A couple of “unlocks” (stretch goals, tiers, whatever they are called this week) has already been revealed:
At 7,000 backers, they will throw in an Ultimate Doink the Clown figure! YAY!
At 8,000 backers, you will get additional skirts, so that you can dress your ring up like a girl! (In Your House, and Wrestlemania ring skirts).
Right now, there is also an Early bird exclusive pack! If you back the ring before today 9pm PT, you will get a Macho Man figure along with the announcer’s table!
Even “Big Sexy” Kevin Nash nonchalantly promoted it! “I’m not getting paid, but here it is. It has boards.”… MAXIMUM EFFORT!

This week, we’re looking at the “Mr. Butcher” figure from Soosoo Toys. Not to be confused with a character called “Butcher” that looks exactly the same in a TV show. This one has nothing to do with it. That’s why he has a different name (wink wink nudge nudge).
Last week, I received a notification with the tracking number of that figure, and the next day, I saw those pictures:
Holy crap! Charlie Day and Karl Urban’s cousin!
Needless to say, it made me clench my butt a little, since it does NOT look like the figure from the promo pics. A few days later, the figure arrived, and it looked MUCH better than that. So it was just a matter of someone managing to take the most horrible pics of that figure, so that we don’t have to. Thank you for your service! Please never take pictures again :)

The figure looks very good. SooSoo Toys killed it with that “Mr. Butcher”. The likeness of the headsculpt is very good (even the crazy one!). The figure comes with a ton of accessories also, including extra hands, an assault rifle, a sniper rifle, mags (with painted bullets in them), crowbar, drill, and all that anyone would need to torture people, and a base with the logo from a TV show, which has nothing to do with the figure (wink wink). Oh yeah, and a baby. With an extra head too.

Today, at 11am EST, there will be a Hasbro Pulse Fan First Monday Livestream with the Marvel Legends team (Ryan, Dan and Dwight). If you’re a collector or a fan, those livestreams are generally a great place to hear about new reveals, upcoming figures and even teases. It is also a fantastic place if you want to hate other collectors too! But what happens in the chat? Here are 3 things you will find in a Hasbro Pulse livestream (or any toy-related livestream, for that matter…)
POLITENESS…
When a stream is about to start, people are generally in some sort of waiting room, where they can already chat for a bit before the show starts. One thing that we have noticed is that if there is any sort of Youtuber/Youtube celebrity that joins the chat, it seems that they are legally obligated to answer to anyone who says ‘hi’ to them. Whether it’s a DanWho, a ToyingAround or an Unparallaled Universe, people will automatically rush to say hi to them, even using their real name (“Hi Kevin!”) to show everyone that they are “in”.
It has a “Mad Max: Fury Road “WITNESS ME!” vibe to it, but if your favorite youtuber actually replied to you, you’d feel pretty damn special too!
GANGS!
It can sometimes feel overwhelming to see all the different toy gangs give shout out to each other, but it’s also a lot fun. The Tuesday Crew, the Chatmigos, the Butter Nation,… there are tons of gangs that invade most streams and do their gang signs in the chat. Now rest assured that there are no gang fights! It’s just the people who watch a show who like to mention that show when they’re watching another show (For example, imagine watching an episode of “Loki” and shouting “Wandavision!” in front of it). ToyFarce will probably go undercover and infiltrate one of those gangs someday…

It wouldn’t be a livestream if there were not a bunch of wank pheasants trying to ruin it for everyone! Imagine wasting an entire hour of your life just to complain about new toys. “PASS! I DON’T WANT IT”, “WORST REVEAL EVER!”, “I’M HAPPY FOR THOSE WHO WANT THIS, BUT IT IS NOT FOR ME” (that last one never happened). There’s also the ones that spam the same sentence fifteen times in a row “WHEN IS MY SENTINEL SHIPPING?”… “WHEN IS MY SENTINEL SHIPPING?”… “WHEN IS MY SENTINEL SHIPPING?”, like it has ever worked. “Oh my, there’s a person that asked the same question 23 times in all caps! I definitely need to give him attention!”. Of course, we understand that you’re a bit upset about those reveals, and you’re 9 years old, but it costs exactly 0 cent to just not write anything. Other people might like the reveals. Let other people enjoy things.
The best way to enjoy any Hasbro Pulse event is still… with the Live Chat turned off.

We’ve seen it with the Mandalorian…
We’ve seen it with Thanos…
If you ever bought a Hot Toys action figure from Sideshow Collectibles, for example, you might have been disappointed to find out that the hand stand that was displayed with the figure on the pictures from the website did not come with the figure. It has been a sad realization that we all had at some point. But after years of begging for it to be released, “the Hand stand” will finally be available for us to display our figures the same way they are displayed on the website!
The Hand stand will be available in Q3 2022 on Sideshow Collectibles, which is about 4 months after everybody already got one from a store in Hong Kong.
Several other brands, such as Bandai and their S.H.Figuarts have used the Hand stand in their promo pictures in the past, so maybe we will get other options from other brands in the near future! Perhaps a Hand stand…with a glove! What a time to be alive!

This week, we’re looking at the toy of the year 2022, the action figure of the Hood from the villains wave of Marvel Legends from Habsro. This figure has caused quite a sensation throughout the toy community! When first announced during a Marvel Legends panel, one of the members of the Hasbro team said this is the “Angry Marvel Legends Collector” figure, which was perfect. Then, once the figure started to appear in stores, all hell broke loose. The figure has so much meme potential, collectors worldwide took hilarious pictures with it. There is also an ongoing petition, led by Sonny from the Sonny Channel on Youtube (@sonnyplayswithtoys on instagram) to get that figure nominated for the Toy of the Year awards next year. Join the Hood movement!

The Hood, aka Parker Robbins, was a petty thief who got his hands on the cloak of a demon which came with some powers that enabled him to become the head of a vast criminal empire. He was especially active post-Civil War and during the Dark Reign crossover events. The figure itself is what you could expect from a Marvel Legends figure nowadays. Double elbow, double knees, ab crunch, thigh swivel, 360 kickflip, double pepperoni and all the likes. The head sculpt is where all the magic is at. That angry screaming expression is just amazing. So many photo ideas!

Now, what we did NOT expect would be that Jazwares would pull the same trick that they use with their AEW Unrivaled action figures, and have slightly different, more limited “chase” versions for those Pokémons, which would end up being the SHINY version! In the video games, shiny Pokémons are very hard to find, so it makes sense that the shiny would be the chase versions!

I mean, it was right there! Who would think this is not a good idea? You don’t even need a new sculpt! It’s a repaint, but the kind of repaint that people wouldn’t be mad about, because it makes sense! Jazwares, I will be waiting for your people to contact me for a job! :)
