“THIS IS A BLUDD DONATION!” - MAN BANNED FROM SEVERAL CLINICS AFTER OFFERING G.I.JOE FIGURES

Last weekend, in Florida (I mean, where else?), a man in his early thirties was banned from several clinics after pretending that he was there to donate blood. Once he arrived, he filled all the required papers, and once he was sent to the nurses to donate his blood, the man took a G.I.Joe action figure from his backpack and offered it to the staff.

“We were really confused about what he meant by that, but then we saw the name of the action figure…”, said one of the nurses.

The figure was a G.I.Joe: Classified Series Major *BLUDD*. It turns out that this young man had misunderstood a message on TV, and thought that he was supposed to do a “BLUDD donation”, by giving away a Major Bludd figure.

We will keep you informed as this is an ongoing event, and we are still getting updates.

WHO BROKE THE INTERNET? G.I.JOE AND STAR WARS COLLECTORS BOTH CLAIM TO HAVE CRASHED WEBSITES AT 1 PM!

Yesterday (June 10th, 2021), at 1pm EST, many toy websites were in turmoil, as several pre-orders hit all at the same time, causing some crashes. But let’s rewind a little...

A week ago, during the Hasbro Pulse: Fan First Friday Yo Joe! livestream, the Hasbro G.I.Joe team announced a new G.I.Joe Classified Series set, including Snake Eyes and Timber, that would be available for pre-order on June 10th, at 1pm EST.

Then, this week, during the Hasbro Pulse: I am your father’s day Star Wars livestream, the Hasbro Star Wars team announced a plethora of figures (a new Rogue One Black Series wave, Black Series archives figures, and a new wave of The Vintage Collection), and all those figures would all become available for pre-order…you guessed it right…on June 10th, at 1pm EST.

So, of course, the inevitable happened. Tons of G.I.Joe and Star Wars collectors rushed to the big toy websites, which caused some of them to crash and become unavailable for some time. Some met crashes on Hasbro Pulse’s website. Others on Entertainment Earth or Big Bad Toy Store.

Here’s what we saw at 1pm EST…

ToyFarce has now witnessed people in Star Wars collectors Facebook groups that claim, with pride, that it is thanks to them that all the websites crashed. Others, in G.I.Joe groups, say that it is thanks to the G.I.Joe fans that the websites couldn’t handle the traffic. ToyFarce interviewed a random person from each side:

G.I.Joe collector: “Of course, it’s the Joe fans that crashed all! And on ‘Yo Joe! June’, no less! It’s our month! Have you seen that Snake Eyes and Timber set? It’s amazing! I’m sure all the G.I.Joe collectors worldwide logged in at the same time at 1pm EST sharp to get that one! We all know that, and you know what they say about knowing… YO JOE!”

Star Wars collector: “It’s obvious to me that it is the Star Wars collectors that crashed Hasbro Pulse, Big Bad Toy Store and the others. There were more figures coming out for us, so we have the strength in numbers! Like Han Solo, we shot first! The Star Wars collectors take that win!”

The S.C.A.L.P association refused to comment on which side they were on, but it is fair to assume that their bots probably had something to do with the crashes as well.

Either way, whether it is the G.I.Joe or the Star Wars collectors that crashed all the websites in order to get their new figures, the clear winner in this story is Hasbro! Next time, have a few Marvel Legends figures available for pre-orders at the same time too!

STAR ACE TOYS BATMAN NINJA - THE JOKER (DX VERSION)!

It’s Wednesday, you know what that means… ToyFarce reviews!

Today, we’re checking the 1:6th scale Joker figure from the Batman Ninja movie by Star Ace Toys, the Deluxe version!

First things first: Yes, Batman Ninja, the anime movie…wasn’t great. It was wacky and pretty bad, but at the same time, so much fun! There’s samurai battles, and even giant mechas made of monkeys and bats fighting! I shit you not! It has become a guilty pleasure of mine.

One thing that I love about the movie is the character designs, by the great Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai). It seems I am a sucker for anything that is given a feudal Japan twist (Star Wars Movie Realization figures from Bandai for example…stay tuned for next week’s review *wink wink*), and that line hit the right spot for me. Batman being one of the main things I collect, I couldn’t pass on this. I already had the Batman Ninja himself anyway!

The box is very nice and colorful, as opposed to the Batman one which was dark and gloomy.

Sidenote: I was not aware that the Joker was into autoerotic asphyxiation!

The figure looks very good, with an amazing headsculpt. The tailoring is also surprisingly nice, which wasn’t obvious on the Batman figure since it had a lot less soft goods on it.

The American-dubbed version of the movie had Tony Hale (Buster from Arrested Development!) voicing the Joker! I’ve always watched the Japanese version, though… It somehow fits better.

Oh, I never really wanted to be a Lord. It wasn't what you would call an aspiration. But when life throws you time travels, sometimes you gotta make "travelade."

The fans have very sharp pointy ‘teeth’ at the end. Because why not?

Even in feudal Japan, the Joker had to have a prank gun (it says “ha ha ha ha ha ha”)

The Deluxe version comes with a barrel, on which you can sit your Joker figure on, if you’ve played with it too much and it needs a rest.

The Deluxe version comes with a nice base and a barrel to sit the Joker on, as well as a few extra accessories, like the prank-tanegashima (Japanese rifle) with its flag. All the accessories can be displayed on the base, there are holes and slits (hmm…) to allow you to place all the items on it, so that it looks cool. A clever touch, which allows you to also display the accessories, instead of just keeping them stored in the box.

Star Ace Toys has already announced a Catwoman, a Harley Quinn and a Modern version of the Batman with light-up features (from when they are in the present, in the movie), which will destroy my wallet when they come out. Yay!

ToyFarce got another exclusive first (fur-st?) look at a future wave of McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse figures, and this is a surprisingly paw-some one, folks!

Krypto, the Super Dog and Ace, the Bat-hound!

Streaky, the Super Cat, B’dg, the Green Lantern squirrel and Jumpa, the Wonder Kangaroo!

That’s right! The Super Pets are joining the DC Multiverse collection! The information also showed that each figure will come with a build-a-figure piece of none other than Bat-Cow!

ToyFarce was also told that Bat-Cow will be the first figure with a “shank-swivel”!

This leak was sent to ToyFarce by a pet store from Bulgaria that had this listing added to their inventory earlier today! Finally, some nice action figures of everyone’s favorite team!

BANDAI ANNOUNCES NEW S.H. MONSTERARTS GODZILLA FIGURE… WITH A 6FT (1,8M) LONG TAIL!

On wednesday, Bandai S.H. Figuarts did a live stream to announce all sorts of awesome figures: Kamen Rider, Ultraman, Godzilla and Marvel (MCU) figures were revealed for the first time to us, as the Japanese host kept lifting big white boxes underneath which the toys were hidden (Unfortunately, there was no incident where the toys would fall as he lifted the boxes, as we were kinda hoping for).

One specific figure caught the attention of everyone, though, as a S.H. Monsterarts figure of Godzilla Ultima from Godzilla: Singular Point was revealed, and it comes with a MASSIVE tail ( #BigAssTail and #LongAssTail were trending worldwide during the event). Here are a few pictures that were shared after the event:

It’s Wednesday, you know what that means… ToyFarce reviews!

Today we take a look at the MAFEX Catwoman from Batman: Hush! Another home run for MAFEX for their DC Batman: Hush figures, that Cat-lady is very articulated! Like her counterpart from the comic book, she can get into all sorts of acrobatic poses, and is pretty easy to mess with (that came out wrong). My only issue with her would be that she’s the same price as the Batman and Superman figures, while clearly, it’s a lot less plastic. If they knocked down $20-25 from the price, that would have made a lot of sense.

Selina (huh? Spoilers!) comes with 2 extra heads (one angry face, and one with the goggles up), 5 extra pair of hands, her whip and an extra waist piece, to switch if you want her to have her whip attached as a belt.

The whip is actually several parts joined together with pegs, so you can switch it in different positions.

“Hello there!”

“Hisssss!”

The face without the goggles looks just like in the comic books.

Pretty great balance!

One of the first poses I wanted to try when I got her. I missed out on the DC Direct statue years ago, and its price is now insane, so I’m happy I can at least display them that way!

The next ones to come out should be the Joker and Hush himself. They are scheduled to be released in the next few months, but with the usual delays we get from MAFEX, we can’t really know. Let’s hope they announced more characters from that awesome story-arc. Poison Ivy or the Riddler, anyone?

WHERE WILL THE NEXT SURPRISE MARVEL LEGENDS REVEAL HAPPEN?

After last week’s Fan First Thursday event, where a new “Age of Apocalypse” wave was revealed, and future figures were teased (there’s a figure of “Tigré”!), the Marvel Legends team from Hasbro continued to surprise us by revealing more figures, via proxy, on other pages. First, the Fwoosh with the reveal of Callisto, which Robo announced her in their latest Fwoosh Weekly video on friday. (Follow the Fwoosh!)

The next day, from out of nowhere, youtuber SuperSorrell revealed on his channel the figure of Jason Wyngrade from the Hellfire Club. (Follow SuperSorrell!). It seems that wave is very X-Men centric!

During the entire time, Dan Yun from the Marvel Legends team (whose Twitter game is fire), was still teasing people, saying that May isn’t over yet and there might be more reveals. He then promised that June would be quieter, but warned us already about July being another months that might make our collective wallets cry.

We are May 31st, the last day of may, and if there are other reveals happening today, the reveals might come from the most unsuspected places. ToyFarce went deep undercover and found about 3 places where the next reveal could very well happen!

Imagine that! Maybe the latest reveal will be in the middle of a new video about out to grow radishes! Those Marvel Legends guy can be sneaky, you never know! Be on the lookout, as we also have a team monitoring all gardening channels on Youtube.

POCKET FIGS: THE LATEST POPULAR TREND?

It is not often that we talk about fashion and trends at ToyFarce, but with an increasing amount of photos of pocket figs being sent to us, we had to address it. More and more celebrities are seen displaying their Pocket Figs with pride. But what is the origin of the Pocket Figs?

According to several sources, the “Pocket Fig” term was first coined by Wade from Unparalleled Universe. When asked about it, Wade replied “I’m pretty sure I made that up, but let me think about it. Hold up… Ok yeah, I made it up.” (this is an actual quote!). Make sure to follow Unparalleled Universe on Youtube and Instagram! (Tuesday crew! 🔪🔪🔪)

But what is a “pocket fig”, you ask? A “pocket fig” is an action figure, from your collection, that you carry around with you as you go about your everyday life. You can see it as a support item to give you that extra boost, to make your day better. Having a tough time at work? Bring your favorite figure along! Boring meetings all day long? A figure would cheer you up. A funeral? Ok, maybe not…

There are no official rules on what can and can’t be a pocket fig, but common sense would rule out any figure that has to much accessories or removable parts (you don’t want to lose anything, right?). Also, as the name implies, it has to fit in a pocket, so 12-inch figures, or 1:4th scale figures do not make great pocket figs.

What started as a small trend between members of the toy community is now becoming a global phenomenom, as several celebrities have been seen carrying pocket figs around on paparazzi pictures! Here are a few pictures that were sent to ToyFarce in the last few days:

NECA’S BACK TO THE FUTURE ACTION FIGURES + TOONY CLASSICS!

It’s Wednesday, you know what that means… ToyFarce reviews!

This week, we’re having a look at all things Back To The Future from NECA. When NECA first announced those, I was very excited, as I grew up a huge fan of the movies, and there were never really any action figures (only Hot Toys made some 1:6 figures in the last decade), apart from endless versions of the Delorean vehicle. To be able to have figures from BTTF on a shelf is pretty freaking awesome, and having NECA take care of that adds to it. The designs of the boxes are already great to begin with.

But first, here’s for your ears, while browsing through the pictures!

And now, the figures! First off, Ultimate Marty McFly! That is the Marty from 1985, from the first movie. He comes with an extra head with sunglasses, extra hands, a guitar, his backpack, his skateboard, and the camera he used to film Doc when he tried the Delorean for the first time.

Ultimate Biff Tanen from Back To The Future: Part II comes in a box that looks like the Sports Almanac from the movie, and that is awesome. It is impossible to throw away those boxes! Biff comes with an extra angry head, extra hands, the Sports Almanac, flyers from the high school party and receipt from the garage where he left his car, and a safe box full of nude magazines. For real! You can open it and see the cover of “Ohlala magazine” inside!

What are you looking at, butthead?

Ultimate Marty McFly from Back To The Future: Part II has the alternative look from the future, with his self-drying jacket, and futuristic Nike shoes. He comes with an extra head, extra hand, a bottle of future pepsi (along with its base), the hoverboard and accessories to make the hoverboard…hover.

“Drying mode: ON! Your jacket is now dry.”

Ultimate Marty McFly “Tales from Space” is Marty in an hazmat suit, from that scene when he tries to scare his young father (George McFly) into inviting his mother to the high school ‘Enchantment Under the Sea’ party. He introduces himself as Darth Vader from planet Vulcan (and even throws the vulcan hand sign), but due to several possible copyright headaches, he will be “Tales from Space” for NECA. Too bad we couldn’t get a vulcan hand sign for it, that would have been the cherry on top.

“Silence earthling! My name is Darth Vader. I am an extraterrestrial from the planet Vulcan!”

Last but not least (for now), Ultimate Doc Brown is the Doc from 1955 in the first movie. Doc comes with an extra head, extra hands (without gloves), a wrench, a pair of goggles, blueprints from the Hill Valley clock tower, plans for the flux capacitor, and a letter from Marty (that he should not open until 1985). About the heads, those headsculpts blew me away. Both headsculpts look like exactly like Christopher Lloyd. They look even more like Christopher Lloyd than Christopher Lloyd himself! I don’t even know which one i’m going to display him with, so I guess i’ll switch the heads every now and then.

1.21 GIGAWATTS?

NECA released 2 other figures since (Marty from the audition, and Doc from 2015), so I will wait that a few more come out and will do a Review: part II!

Bonus: The Toony Classics figures, from the Back To The Future cartoon from the 90’s. That cartoon was probably pretty bad, but I keep fond memories of it, waking up on saturday morning to see the adventures of Doc and his family. The figures are very much like their “Toony Terror” counterparts, meaning they do not have a lot of articulations, but are just eye-candy for your shelf.

He’s gonna need a moment…

The Back to the Future figures from NECA are awesome. Here’s hoping they make plenty more! (Cowboy Marty and Doc from Part III, pretty please!)

WHY ARE LEAKED PICTURES ALWAYS TAKEN WITH A HAM SANDWICH?

Last week, a leaked picture surfaced on the internet about a Marvel Legends two-pack that has yet to be officially announced, which would have a Hulk and Captain America from Avengers: Endgame. Here is the clearest version of the picture we could find:

ToyFarce decided to investigate how come every leaked pictures of toys end up super blurry. Does the photographer use a ham sandwich to take the pictures? Likely! Does he have a disease, such as Parkinson’s, which prevents him to take clear pictures, because he is shaking? Could be! Is it on purpose to protect the anonimity of the person who leaks the pics? Nah, very unlikely.

We pulled several strings and now owe favors to a number of people, but we managed to find out the identity of the person who takes most of the leaked pictures! We will call him “Steve Blurry” to protect his anonimity.

“Most of the times, I am in a blurry to take pictures, so I have to do it fast. I have a very decent Nikon camera, 3 extra lenses, the whole deal. I’m just trying to do my job as a professional toy leak photographer”, says Steve Blurry.

Could it be? Is he just a very bad photographer? Or does he have a very rare eye disease, that makes his eyes “hyper-focus”, and for him, the pictures are just fine? We will continue to look for more informations!
