NECA’S THE BOYS HOMELANDER AND STARLIGHT

It’s Wednesday, you know what that means… ToyFarce reviews!

This week, we’re checking out the Homelander and Starlight figures from the awesome TV series “The Boys” by NECA. NECA announced those earlier this year, as part of a Father’s Day exclusives deal with Walmart or Target, but the exclusivity was only temporary, and they were finally in stock at other retailers (BigBadToyStore, Entertainment Earth, …).

Usual nice looking NECA boxes

First off, Homelander, or “What if Superman was an asshole”. Homelander comes with 3 headsculpts (smirk, angry and “oh my god my eyes are gone” for the eye blast effect), 2 extra closed-fist hands and the eye blast effect. The smirk headsculpt looks a bit cartoony, but the angry one is spot on. His legs also look like they’re a bit shorter than they should be, or maybe he’s just all trunk. A glass of milk accessory is also clearly missing!

The texture details on the suit are nice

Starlight comes with fewer accessories, an extra headsculpt and extra hands/armbands. A light effect would have been great, especially since some of the promo pics let us to believe that there would be some.

The costume and cape have great details too

Mine had one slighlty crappy paint app on one of the eyes, which makes her look like she’s had a few drinks…

…but luckily, we don’t see it much from far!

“I’m supposed to be this hero, idol symbol, but I don’t know what the hell I’m doing.”

On the other hand, the other headsculpt is perfect.

“Since when did “hopeful” and “naive” become the same thing?”

“We’re all alone. That’s the truth”

Great figures from NECA. I can’t wait to add the rest of the Seven to the team, and hopefully get the Boys as well. So far, NECA has announced only Black Noir and A-Train during their Comic Con panel.

SOOSOO TOYS “Mr BUTCHER”!

It’s Wednesday, you know what that means… ToyFarce reviews!

This week, we’re looking at the “Mr. Butcher” figure from Soosoo Toys. Not to be confused with a character called “Butcher” that looks exactly the same in a TV show. This one has nothing to do with it. That’s why he has a different name (wink wink nudge nudge).

Last week, I received a notification with the tracking number of that figure, and the next day, I saw those pictures:

Needless to say, it made me clench my butt a little, since it does NOT look like the figure from the promo pics. A few days later, the figure arrived, and it looked MUCH better than that. So it was just a matter of someone managing to take the most horrible pics of that figure, so that we don’t have to. Thank you for your service! Please never take pictures again :)

The figure looks very good. SooSoo Toys killed it with that “Mr. Butcher”. The likeness of the headsculpt is very good (even the crazy one!). The figure comes with a ton of accessories also, including extra hands, an assault rifle, a sniper rifle, mags (with painted bullets in them), crowbar, drill, and all that anyone would need to torture people, and a base with the logo from a TV show, which has nothing to do with the figure (wink wink). Oh yeah, and a baby. With an extra head too.

One of the weirdest accessories ever…

You can add a battery under the hat, which then turns on/off when you lightly touch the head. Really creepy!

SooSoo Toys also announced a “John Lander” figure, which should come out soon. Once again, this figure has nothing to do with a character from a TV show from Amazon Prime, based on a comic book. I can’t wait to take “John Lander” home… (see what i did there?).
