PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
COVID-19 - AS LOCKDOWN ENDS, GROUPS OF 10 FIGURES ALLOWED TO BE DISPLAYED ON SAME SHELF
In
case you missed it, there's been a global pandemic hitting earth over
the last few months. The W.H.O. (World Health Organization, curiously
unrelated to Doctor Who) has given instructions on how to avoid spreading the virus, for example, by washing your hands often, wearing a facemask and "social distancing" (which is pretty stupid, it should be 'physical
distancing', you're still allowed to talk with other people, as phones,
messenger, Skype or Zoom exist...).
So
far, no rules have been given for action figure collections, so with
the lockdown starting to end, ToyFarce News thought it would be time to
dust up a few rules:
- Action figures can be displayed on the same shelf as long as they are not more than 10.
Groups
of more than 10 figures are not yet allowed, and there should be a distance of
at least 1ft (30cm) for 1:6th scale figures, and 0,5ft (15cm) for 1:12th
scale figure (to be proportionate with the 6ft (2m) distance for
people).
- Your figures should wear a facemask to be sure not to spread the virus.
Even
if the mask does not agree with your style, remember that it is
important to wear one. We know that Batman figures are generally
unhappy, considering the mask covers the only part of their body that is
exposed, but if everybody wears one, your collection will
remain safe.
-
For the figures already wearing a mask or a helmet (Darth Vader,
stormtroopers, mandalorians, predator,...), make sure that the proper
filters are used for them. We do not know how the virus would react with
organism from other planets, so better safe than sorry. If anybody has
any idea how the mask go on a Xenomorph, please let us know in the
comments.
-
Vintage figures (from the early 80's or before) are in the highest risk
group and should wear a mask at all times. The ones that are still MISB
(or mint in sealed box) should be safe, but any loose figures will need
to be protected.
ToyFarce
News hopes that everybody is safe and healthy, and doing their part. We
know it's not a laughing matter, but if this article can brighten the
day of at least a few people, we will consider it a win. Stay safe, and let us know if
you have more ideas ideas on how to protect your collection!
