EVERYTHING STARTED TO GO WRONG AFTER TOYS'R'US CLOSED DOWN

Do you remember Geoffrey the giraffe? Do you remember how people were happier when Toys'R'Us was still around?

EDITORIAL PIECE:

EVERYTHING STARTED TO GO WRONG AFTER TOYS'R'US CLOSED DOWN

" You know - I'm not saying allowing the death of Toys'R'Us caused the global chaos right now, but... *gestures wildly at everything* "
(ToyFarce News likes to give credit where credit is due, and after 2 minutes of intense research, it was Jeremy Davis that shared that on Facebook. Thanks, Jeremy! It was too good not to share!)

Do you remember Geoffrey the giraffe? Do you remember how people were happier when Toys'R'Us was still around? Do you also think that closing down all Toys'R'Us in the US started a chain of events that would lead to Australia being on fire, a global pandemic and chaos all over the world in 2020, à la "Butterfly effect"? If so, ToyFarce News would like to hear from you!

In the spirit of trying to cheer up and support each other, let's all share a memory we have from Toys'R'Us. It can be a good memory, a bad one, a funny one, anything. How many of you did work in a Toys'R'Us, for example? Or how often did you go there? Let's all have a conversation and try to think about something that is now gone, and that we are missing.

I'll go first: I worked at a Toys'R'Us as a part time job during the Christmas season, over a decade ago. I started in the late afternoon, and stayed after hours until after 10pm to re-fill all the shelves that had been emptied out during the day, so that the parents...I mean... Santa Claus could come and pick up the toys for all the children. On December, 24th, which is Christmas Eve, a woman with a cart full of toys came to me and asked if we had the most popular toy from that year, which had been sold out everywhere for weeks (it was a known fact). I explained to her that we didn't have any, but that we would get some after Christmas. She then proceeded to yell at me, telling me that I just had personnaly ruined her child's Christmas, and it was my fault if the kid didn't get that toy. It was not her fault for being a crappy parent and doing all the Christmas shopping at the very last minute, no! It was my fault. To this day, it still haunts me.

Share your memories in the comments!

COVID-19 - AS LOCKDOWN ENDS, GROUPS OF 10 FIGURES ALLOWED TO BE DISPLAYED ON SAME SHELF

In case you missed it, there's been a global pandemic hitting earth over the last few months.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

COVID-19 - AS LOCKDOWN ENDS, GROUPS OF 10 FIGURES ALLOWED TO BE DISPLAYED ON SAME SHELF

In case you missed it, there's been a global pandemic hitting earth over the last few months. The W.H.O. (World Health Organization, curiously unrelated to Doctor Who) has given instructions on how to avoid spreading the virus, for example, by washing your hands often, wearing a facemask and "social distancing" (which is pretty stupid, it should be 'physical distancing', you're still allowed to talk with other people, as phones, messenger, Skype or Zoom exist...).

So far, no rules have been given for action figure collections, so with the lockdown starting to end, ToyFarce News thought it would be time to dust up a few rules:

- Action figures can be displayed on the same shelf as long as they are not more than 10.
Groups of more than 10 figures are not yet allowed, and there should be a distance of at least 1ft (30cm) for 1:6th scale figures, and 0,5ft (15cm) for 1:12th scale figure (to be proportionate with the 6ft (2m) distance for people).

- Your figures should wear a facemask to be sure not to spread the virus.
Even if the mask does not agree with your style, remember that it is important to wear one. We know that Batman figures are generally unhappy, considering the mask covers the only part of their body that is exposed, but if everybody wears one, your collection will remain safe.

- For the figures already wearing a mask or a helmet (Darth Vader, stormtroopers, mandalorians, predator,...), make sure that the proper filters are used  for them. We do not know how the virus would react with organism from other planets, so better safe than sorry. If anybody has any idea how the mask go on a Xenomorph, please let us know in the comments.

- Vintage figures (from the early 80's or before) are in the highest risk group and should wear a mask at all times. The ones that are still MISB (or mint in sealed box) should be safe, but any loose figures will need to be protected.

ToyFarce News hopes that everybody is safe and healthy, and doing their part. We know it's not a laughing matter, but if this article can brighten the day of at least a few people, we will consider it a win. Stay safe, and let us know if you have more ideas ideas on how to protect your collection!

HE-MAN TESTED POSITIVE FOR THE CORONAVIRUS, NOW IN QUARANTINE

BREAKING NEWS:

HE-MAN TESTED POSITIVE FOR THE CORONAVIRUS, NOW IN QUARANTINE

It is a sad day in Eternia. Late last night, He-Man made a public announcement to confess that he had tester positive for Covid-19, and will now be quarantined for a few weeks.

It is common knowledge that the most powerful man in the universe get into close combat with his adversaries, and he must have been exposed to the virus during his latest fight with Beast-man or any other of Skeletor's henchmen. It is unknown at this moment if anybody in Snake Mountain has been tested, but we can assume that they will not get tested and probably try to continue spreading it, due to them being evil.

In a surprising turn of events, it was later revealed that Prince Adam of Eternia, the son of King Randor and Queen Marlena, also tested positive for the Coronavirus, which confirms what everyone expected: He-Man and Prince Adam really are close friends. We were told that Orko is working on a cure for Covid-19, but there is timeline was provided to us as to when we can expect it.

ToyFarce News wishes them a speedy recovery, and hopes that everyone stays safe and healthy in those uncertain times. Also, wash your hands.
