This week, we’re building a model kit with the Bandai Spirits Demon Slayer Tanjiro model kit! Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) is a very popular manga and anime, its movie “Mugen Train” broke all sorts of records earlier this year in cinemas, and the second season is coming out later in 2021. It’s a tale as old as time, the story of a brother and sister, the sister gets possessed by a demon, and the brother becomes a demon slayer to try to save her, and meets other demon slayers along the way , one is a coward, and another wears the head of a boar as a mask. Like I said, classic story. The series is mostly known for its beautiful, stunning animation. Each episode is a masterpiece, beautifully animated, and the soundtrack is also very good.
I missed out on the Buzzmod Aniplex and Figma figures of Tanjiro due to discovering the series too late (and the Buzzmod one costing an arm), but since I still wanted to have him on a shelf, I picked that model kit. I was also intrigued by it, since I’m used to do either robot figures (Gundam, Evangelion) or Cup Noodle model kits.

The level of detail is crazy. There was even a sticker for the hole under the sandal, where the straps meet!

I like how those model kits always weigh nothing. It’s a nice little kit that was fun to build (it took about 40min), and it looks good on a shelf. If it was up to me, I would have added the big wooden box to put on his back, or next to him. There’s already another version of this one coming, with a different blade (with fire effect). No idea if they will do other characters, but I might pick them if they do.
