AFTER AEW FIGURES ANNOUNCEMENT, LOCAL INDY WRESTLING PROMOTIONS TO RELEASE FIGURES TOO!!
2019 has been a great year for wrestling toy fans.
Mattel started their Ultimate Edition series of high quality figures,
the Young Bucks revived the LJN brand, Storm Collectibles announced a
Jushin Thunder Liger, Boss Fight Studio announced
their Lucha Brothers figures, and a new company, AEW (All Elite
Wrestling) was born.
But that was just the beginning! AEW announced a few
days before the New York Toy Fair that they have partnered with Jazwares
to produce AEW wrestling figures, with the likes of Chris Jericho,
Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, along with Cody and
his wife Brandi Rhodes.
After hearing this announcement, several local Indy
wrestling promotions have decided to release figures too, so fans all
around the world will be able to get their hands on all their favorite
pro wrestlers and make their own figure feds!
The WRF (Wrestling Ring Federation) will release a
figure of their champion and main eventer, Carapace Bobby, along with
his eternal nemesis, Turtleshell Joe.
Super Wrestling announced playsets and different figures
of all their main stars, such as Johnny SmallPackage, Terry Piledriver,
Frank Elbowdrop and everyone's favorite lady, Sue Plex.
Meanwhile, WFF (Wrestling Figure Federation) will
finally release a figure of Paul Smackage and Sunset Flip, after years
of fans begging for those. (As long as Edge and Christian agree about
it).
Wrestling fans, be ready to make some space in your 'Detolf Zigglers', because more wrestling figures are on their way!

The New York Toy Fair is just a few days away! Opening at the
Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, February 22nd to 25th, the Toy
Fair is where all the great toys coming out throughout the year are first
displayed and announced, and it is always
an exciting time for all toy collectors worldwide.
But this year, the Toy Association has decided to make it even more special!
There will be no Hasbro, no Mattel, no Bandai, no NECA,
no Hot Toys or Sideshow Collectibles, no Medicom, no Funko, no McFarlane
Toys, no DC Collectibles, no Hot Wheels, etc...
This year, it will be ALL ABOUT WOODEN TOYS!
Brands like Janod, Maple Landmark, Brio, Hebe, Djeco,
Ikea, Holtztiger, Green Tones, Grimm's Wooden Toys and many more will
finally get their moment to shine!
"We have decided to do something special this year, and
move on from exciting action figures, amazing detailed toys and great
playability to have a Toy Fair that would be 100% focus on wooden toys."
said a representative from the Toy Association.
"We feel like this is what the collectors really want. We're expecting to break the record of attendance this year, with such a bold
move.".

A
lot has happened recently for the ultra popular Power Rangers
franchise. The giant American toy maker HASBRO bought the franchise for
522M$ in 2018, and started producing high quality figures of everyone's
favorite character (mostly from the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers
series). The third party brand ACE TOYZ released beautiful 12inch
action figures of the 'Classic Mighty Superheroes', bearing an uncanny
resemblance to the Mighty Morphing costumes (wink wink). Meanwhile, BANDAI continues
to produce toys for all the Sentai series in Japan, still going strong
after 45+ years.
But
is seems that it will not stop there for the teenagers with special
powers! Several superstar brands in the toy industry, like the Hong Kong
based HOT TOYS, the Japanese MEDICOM (MAFEX), the
American SIDESHOW COLLECTIBLES, or the Japanese high-end statue maker
PRIME1 STUDIO, have started to show interest in the red, yellow, black,
pink and blue franchise (along with sometimes green or white).
"They
are interested in the Power Rangers franchise, but only really to
continue milking the MMPR (Mighty Morphing Power Rangers) line. They
will probably continue to ignore the 20+ other series, such as Zeo,
Turbo, In Space, Lost Galaxy, TimeForce, or whatever came after, and
mostly really only do MMPR products. That is what the fans really want:

IKEA Detolf glass cabinet. Most collectors have (or at least had) a few
of those, which are great to display your collection. The affordable
glass cabinet from the famous Swedish brand is
a must-have for any collector.
But who has never fantasized about having one sixth
scale Detolf glass cabinets for their one sixth scale figures? Well,
thanks to a partnership between Hot Toys and IKEA, it will soon no
longer be a fantasy, and your collection will be able
to have its own collection !
An insider source has told ToyFarce News that the one
sixth scale Detolf glass cabinets will soon be announced, so that your
one sixth scale figures can finally display their items, such as the Hot
Toys Box Art Magnets, which are one sixth scale
versions of the Hot Toys figures art boxes, so that your figures can
have them too. Imagine having your Infinity War Thor and Black Widow in
your Detolf, displaying their own versions of the Infinity War Thor and
Black Widow Art Boxes in their own Detolf!
No words yet if the IKEA patented 'random glass
explosion' feature will be added to one out of 100,000 glass cabinets,
but we certainly hope Hot Toys will strive for accuracy and add that to
their line as well.

HASBRO FEELING LEFT OUT FROM THE BABY YODA ANNOUNCEMENTS CONTROVERSY BETWEEN SIDESHOW AND HOT TOYS!!

On
January 30th, Sideshow Collectibles announced a life-size figure
(well...statue) of The Child, from 'The Mandalorian' TV series. This led to a huge amount of traffic on
the website which caused it to crash. Major news outlets started to
report the website crash all over the internet, and the very next day,
the blockbuster toy company from Hong Kong, Hot Toys, decided to break
its silence and announced they were going to make figures of The Child,
not only life-size, but also in 1:4th and 1:6th scale.
Toy collectors everywhere went crazy with speculations after this announcement for a few reasons:
- Sideshow
is the main distributor for Hot Toys, so having both brands competing
against each other for the Child figure could create a rift between the
brands. What will happen? Sideshow had to know that Hot Toys was making one too, right?
- Why
did Hot Toys go out of their way to put together a collage to
announce they would indeed do the figure, when they had nearly 2 months
to do so?
- For
the people that pre-ordered it and caused the site to crash: How does
one get a Non-Refundable Deposit back? We all know people will order the
Hot Toys version from Sideshow anyway... Did Sideshow just con the Star
Wars fandom out of NRD money?
Meanwhile,
Hasbro, the long-time toy maker behind the Star Wars figures, had
released that same announcement on December 12, 2019, 50 days before Sideshow and Hot Toys, along with a
plethora of other The Child/'Baby Yoda' related merchandise. They
announced a talking plush, a Black series figure, a 6,5" figure, and a
series of mini figures of the Child in various situations, called the
'Bounty Collection'.
'When
we announced all those figures back in early december, more than a month and a
half before Sideshow, our website didn't crash.' we were told by an
employee who will remain anonymous. 'Not a spike in traffic, nothing. Our timing must have been off. I do not know what happened. They could have at least crashed our website too...'.
If
we were in Hasbro's place, I admit it would feel a bit unfair to be
overshadowed by those 2 giants, but rest assured that Hasbro will
certainly sell a ton of Baby Yoda merchandise in the months to come,
with the Sideshow and Hot Toys versions not being available before the
end of the year or probably 2022, respectively.

FUNKO POP SOON RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS, WILL START MAKING OWN EMPLOYEES POP FIGURES!
Everyone loves Funko Pop! There are thousands of
franchises that have been made into Funko Pop figures, and even fans of
the most obscure things can find a Pop figure of their favorite
characters.
The first Funko Pop figures came out in 2010, and 10
years later, over 8500 different Pop figures have been created. From the
big hits like Star Wars, Marvel, DC to the Golden Girls, Bob Ross or
Weird Al Yankovic, to even more obscure franchises, there isn't a famous act that
hasn't been made into Funko Pop figures.
But with the latest dozens of announcements that Funko
has made about their Pop figure line earlier this year, it seems that the inspiration is
coming to an end.
A source had told ToyFarce News that "there simply isn't any franchise left that Funko hasn't already made into Pops!".
In order to continue makikg more, the creators of Funko
have decided for their next announcements to start making the
employees from their own office as their next Pop figure line.
The first wave will include Steve from Finance, Jessica
the receptionist, Mike the IT guy, Sam the trainee and Linda from HR,
which will also have a 'Chase edition' with different clothes!
With the advancement of technology and the 'Pop
Yourself!' app, it will not take long before anyone and everyone will be
made into a Pop figure! "The goal is to have every single person on the planet made into those" said our anonymous source.

An anonymous (disgruntled) employee has leaked to us a juicy piece of information this week:
Mattel,
the giant toymaker behind Hot Wheels, Barbie and tons of other classic
toys has decided to re-use unsold figures of Edward from the 'Twilight'
movie franchise, which came out in 2009, in order to release a Barbie
doll from the Robert Pattinson-led, 'The Batman' movie, directed by
Matt Reeves, which will come out in 2021. The 'Edward' headsculpt, which was highly accurate at the time, will be perfect for the next incarnation of the Batman Barbie doll.
Mattel
is no stranger to releasing Batman dolls, as they had released a Batman
Barbie Doll in 2016 for the 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' movie,
as well as a Batman '66 (Adam West) Barbie doll in 2013.
No
words yet on if there will be more characters from the movie, but

It is a great day for all the fans of the Galaga Guy from Marvel's The Avengers first cinematic adventure.
Hot
Toys, the prestigious Hong Kong one sixth scale action figure company,
known for its high quality collectibles has announced that they will
release everyone's favorite character from the Avengers movie, the
Galaga guy!
The
Galaga guy, portrayed by actor Warren Kole, appears in the scene when
the team is on the Helicarrier, and Tony Stark nonchalantly points out
that he is playing Galaga in front of everybody, in order to humiliate
him. Numerous fan fiction and backstory for the character has been
released since then, and actor Warren Kole said that this role made his
entire career, as he has received numerous offers for bigger roles after
the Marvel movie came out, and made over a billion dollars thanks to
him.
The
figure will come with a sixth scale office chair, a second
'Galaga-focused' headsculpt, and last but not least, a sixth scale
Galaga arcade machine!
The release date was not announced yet, but as it is the tradition with Hot Toys, we can expect it to come out in Q3 2027.
